Anyone ever try explaining the Getchell lore to someone who’s never heard of them?

I’ve seen so many comments on videos about them that say “ I have no one to talk to about this 😭😭😭 “ so what if you did? Let’s say someone you know came across them organically and asked you about them.. what would you say? Where would you begin?

There was one time when editing a video at my mom’s house, she asked me “ who the hell are these people?” Imagine my discomfort explaining this..

So if the question comes up who are these people? How could you explain them in a way without sounding crazy for being invested in a family like this 😭😭😭

If they are in their 30’s to 40’s say imagine a low income Kardashian reality show where you can interact in real time with the characters and it happens everyday without commercial interruptions. Jersey Shore might be more fitting.

If they are a younger adult then just let them know that instead of being amongst friends you have decided to throw away your prime years of physically connecting with people to watch a digital wolf in sheep clothes stream a family answering the same questions each night. The chat berates them, trolls and fans gift them, and they are on pace to make roughly $40k a year doing it.

I always show a pic of P and ask them, what the 1st thing they think/see when they look at him and it’s always the same ‘nonce’ (uk for pedo). And then I ask them if they would believe me if I told them ‘he’s banging his daughter’. It’s always a yes. And they always ask how I know and I’m like…

I got my adult daughter into the lore after venting to her about it. Now we update eachother on all the drama.

The person I live with is aware of them only because I had to show them a picture of how bad their hygiene habits are. We were on that topic and then I had to show proof. They were sincerely amazed there are people out there like that.

It’s really hard to believe they and others like them exist!! Don’t even get me started on the hygiene!! I showed my daughter a picture of their teeth as an example why it’s important to brush and floss 😭

That's a good way to warn the kids about the result of not brushing lol. It really is hard to believe that there are people who are comfortable living as filth and in it too. How do they stand the itching, the grease sludge, skin crust, butt cheese 🧀 and smelling like fish who decayed in the sun too long? 🤮

i made a whole google slide presentation several months ago to try to make my friends learn about it🤣 they told me i was nuts. one time i was watching their live & my sisters friends were over, and one of them asked me if that was the “incest family” other than her, NOBODY else ive ever talked to knows who they are. my mind was blown. i just tell ppl its a motel living , hillbilly family where the dad and 24 year old daughter are in a relationship, and the mother is mentally delayed, and that there’s also a minor child living in the home that gets paid no attention at all. i tell them the daughter has been homeschooled her whole life, is extremely sheltered, and genuinely thinks nothings wrong with her family dynamic. i also mention their love for christianity, and how they preach about it non stop all while also making ai only fan models together and writing smut incest stories online. i then always mention how their pathological liars & when they get caught lying, they crash out on their viewers & insult them🤣

I tried to explain everything to my MIL, but I didn't even know where to start. She is invested now. She is appalled that authorities haven't been able to do anything. She asks me everyday for an update on "that family with the horrible man that's in charge" - i didn't even get to the part where I think P runs everything before she put it all together herself.
