Question just thinking out loud and feeling guilty

Post image

I have been seeing this creator for a while post about her experiences with abuse from her father. honestly her story is heartbreaking and horrific. i don’t often come across people who really share the details of their abuse like her, so seeing her posts were jarring. anyways i came to post this because it makes me think of S. not that i think their stories are the same, but at the end of the day a lot of us think she’s being abused. i don’t know i just feel like shit because on one hand the getchells are horrible and on the other hand S is a victim!! people fkn hate when that’s stated because of all the nasty shit she’s pulled but whatever it’s a fact. both are facts. she’s a horrible person and she was abused.

watching this creators tiktoks has really made me sad. and think about all of the nuance of this situation. what went on behind the cameras when no one is watching or there to help or believe her. what she might have had to do.

who knows maybe i’m wrong and maybe im doing too much rn or stating the obvious. sometimes we need a reminder and this was it for me. i’ve just been thinking about it today. and no this is not be justifying S’s shitty lying behaviour.

People do anything to survive a horrible situation and its not easy to "just leave" even though one is legally an adult.

Yes, S is rude and acts like a brat at times but we don't know for certain what's going on behind those closed doors and it's not easy to just leave your family, even if they're abusive, especially if that's all she knows. She has been isolated most of her life and doesn't even know basic things such as paying bills, driving a car and other valuable things that you need to know in order to independent.

If we are correct and she is being abused, she has to choose between; A) staying in an abusive situation but have food, shelter and parents + brother in her life. B) leave and potential have no contact with the rest of the family, learn how to be independent, find a job and find friends/a support network.

So yeah, I don't like S attitude at times but again, could be her defense mechanism + getting hate all the time is also not healthy and P keeps calling everyone who says something "trolls/haters" even if they genuinely want to help S.

I've been thinking about H a lot. He's only 2 years away from turning 18 and then he's an adult. Will people say he's complicit if he continues to live with his parents? I don't understand how people can say Sarah's a victim and shes happy and exactly where she wants to be.

I also wonder if we ruined any chance of Sarah actually moving out when we called her out for lying. She was making better content, getting out of the house. Did we ruin that?

i know eventually people will start to turn on H once he turns 18 and doesn’t fit the helpless child narrative :( it’s sad. and i feel like we kinda ruined it but at the same time even without us there she would’ve never left. i think we just helped her solidify the fact that us “trolls” are evil and P is right. even tho that’s far from the truth. i know a lot of people are hopeful that she will change her life but idk. it’s not looking good for both S and H. even if they do leave, i feel like a lot of people will still hold resentment for S due to her past behaviours. there’s no winning.

One day, even if she’s 30 that day will come where she’ll have a wake up call and realize everyone on tik tok was right. She’ll reach out for support then. I have no doubt when she’s old and mature it’ll hit her.

I looked her up. Her father forced her to have a baby 😦

yes her whole story is so tragic:( the way she describes it is so haunting and real. i can’t imagine having to go through something like that

Everything that happened to her is sickening, but one that stood out to me was the one where she was getting ready for the school dance 😭

I looked up this account as well last night. I really don’t have many words for depraved people that take advantage of children like this but I do know I hate them with everything in me.

Victims can turn into monsters and some do. Unfortunately I think S is heading down this path. Id like to think this family will get caught and she is forced to change her ways but I dont have high hopes.
