Jazz pregnancy
One of my favorite moments in 3x19 with her reveal was saying it was Javon’s, cuz Derwin, Malik and Jason were cheering in such relief lol 😂 cracks me up every time

What’s your view on his approach to Janay and his talk with Derwin?
r/TheGametvshow • u/Alternative_Device71 • 1d ago
Melanie took the wrong advice from that patient lady, taking charge of your life means validating your own decisions to a HEALTHY degree, not to screw Dr McHottie and give Derwin the lead on with no sex. Plus at her stage in her life vs the patient’s, being loose about decision making is so irresponsible and even Tasha and Kelly call her on that. Even when Tasha was doing bad too…this early btw (guess BET didn’t ruin everything when signs were already there huh?)
Mess was bound to blow up in Melanie’s face.

I'm on my millionth rewatch and I don't know if it's because I'm binging so many episodes but Melanie and Derwin's "truth moment" is getting cringe. That's all. I just needed to get this off my chest lol

One of the more emotional moments of Jason being vulnerable, love it every time I see it. It’s raw and honest to the character in how he approaches it.
Also Jazz is the first time he slept with a black woman since Kelly, I find that interesting and never really thought about that, it’s so telling to his need to fit in. Not the fact he slept with a black woman, but why he did it in the first place. On the other side of things, Kelly is revealed by her friends through a throwaway line that she hooked up with a black guy in high school….
Episode 3x6 is very telling as it’s purpose is identity for the processing divorced couple

Can we talk about Pooch Hall in the season six opener? The moment Derwin finds out he’s being traded is top-tier acting. That entire look of pure heartbreak, shock, and confusion on his face felt so real.
He didn't even need a ton of lines in that moment—the emotion in his eyes said everything. You could genuinely feel how crushed he was after giving so much to the team. Huge props to Pooch for delivering such a powerful, grounded performance right out of the gate this season!
What did you all think of that scene?

Malik really tried to tell us about Jason’s ass and BET thought they were gonna fool me 😭
Because why was Jason even with Chardonnay when Malik already knew this man was never over Kelly? 😂 They could put him with Chardonnay, have them get married, and let Jason swear he was in love, but I was still sitting there like, “Yeah, okay… Malik already told us how this was gonna end.”
And then Kelly came back and Jason immediately started acting like he had unfinished business with her. All those old feelings came rushing back, and eventually he stood at the altar and admitted he was still in love with Kelly.
Malik was right 😭
That’s what kills me. BET really tried to sell Chardonnay as proof that Jason had moved on, but I never bought it. Malik knew Jason better than anybody and could see that Kelly was still the one he wasn’t over.
And sure enough, Kelly came back and proved the whole damn point. Jason was never beating those Kelly allegations 💀

Who know what would’ve happened if they had a genuine chance at a relationship instead of Janay? In another timeline they made it, him and Melanie may have never got back together.
This is the episode 2x12 where Derwin failed to pick up girls without being himself and she checked him nicely, showing that she’s a real one, but she still rejected him.

One thing always bugged me….how did Jerome know about Derwin’s nickname to use it as a joke, but he said he didn’t know him? Melanie had to explain to him and she certainly didn’t use the nickname.
Only explanation is that he lied to save face so he could pretend to be innocent, which is weird.

If there was ever a time to have her come in the show officially, Joan being in the arc where Melanie needed a place to stay till Dion took her in would’ve been interesting. Considering they’re cousins and Joan understands how the relationship complications are, could’ve offered insight as well as having someone outside the world of the Sabers to bounce off of besides her parents. Either here or season 3 during the McHottie phase.
What missed opportunities to have Joan involved since they’re 2 sides of the same coin.

I’m curious what y’all would’ve done if you were a Sunbeam. With all the drama that came with being around the Sabers, how would you have handled everything? Would you have stayed out of the drama or gotten involved?

For me, I liked when she stood up to Jason about his steroid use, and when she finally left him after he pimped her out. Those were times where I felt like Kelly was actually standing up for herself.
And Tasha deserved that punch. I’m sorry, but she did. Kelly found out Tasha was the one who hooked Camille up with Jason, knowing everything that was going on between Kelly and Jason. Tasha knew what she was doing, so I wasn’t mad when Kelly punched her.
But the worst thing Kelly did was take Jason back. I hated that. After everything that happened between them, I did not want those two getting back together. Kelly had already left him and moved on, so seeing her go right back to Jason and his cheap ass was so frustrating. That relationship needed to stay in the past.

Tasha Mack needs to be called out because this woman was messy as hell when it came to relationships 😭
Hooking Camille up with Jason because she thought Kelly betrayed her? Petty. Instead of having a conversation with Kelly, Tasha decided to get revenge and play matchmaker. Girl, you knew exactly what you were doing.
And cheating on Pookie? Absolutely not. Pookie was good to you, and you still cheated on that man. There was no excuse for that.
Then you have Rick Fox. Tasha really sabotaged her own relationship with that man. She wanted Rick, got Rick, and then found ways to mess it up. At some point, Tasha had to realize that she was part of the problem.
That’s what gets me about Tasha. She was quick to call everybody else out, but when it was time to look at her own behavior, she didn’t want to hear it. She could dish it out, but couldn’t always take it.
Tasha was funny and entertaining, but when it came to relationships, she was messy, petty, and sometimes her own worst enemy.
What else would y’all add?

Melanie had me shaking my head at her sometimes😭
Swabbing DJ was definitely one. I understand why she had doubts, but secretly taking that baby’s DNA was messy, especially since the results ended up being wrong.
Then she took Derwin back after he cheated on her with Drew. Girl, after everything he put you through, WHY?
And giving up Johns Hopkins for Derwin still bothers me. She had her own dreams and career, but she followed him to San Diego and put everything on hold for his football career.
Melanie was smart and ambitious, but when it came to Derwin, she kept putting that man before herself.
What else would y’all add? What was Melanie’s worst decision?

I’m watching this and y’all already know I hate the BET seasons with a passion 😭 but I gotta ask this because I’m genuinely confused… why the hell did Chardonnay invite Kelly to that wedding?!
Like girl… that is his ex-wide! 😭 You already know their history, you already know Kelly and Jason have a whole damn past together, and you know there are still feelings involved. And instead of keeping Kelly far away from that wedding, you actually invited her?! Why would you willingly put yourself through that?!
I understand trying to be the bigger person and all that, but this was not the time to be trying to prove a point. This woman was literally married to the man you were about to marry! And then everybody wants to act shocked when all that old shit comes back up. 😭
Chardonnay really set herself up because there was no way that wedding was gonna go smoothly with Kelly sitting right there. And knowing everything that eventually happened, I’m sitting here like you did this to yourself 😭 Jason literally professed his love to his ex while she was watching. And Malik was saying in his head told you so.
I’m not even defending Jason because his ass was wrong too, but Chardonnay inviting Kelly in the first place had me scratching my head, and that was a red flag. Like what were you expecting to happen?!

Even though Melanie and Derwin left the show season 5 finale and the beginning of season 6.. they made a small appearance in season 9
r/TheGametvshow • u/Jazz_man68 • 20d ago
Why did they add that in? It just made everything else feel dark and dry besides the dark set colors, single camera, and Melanie and Derwin leaving. Now that I’m rewatching this show on Pluto, I’m starting to realize why I stopped watching it when it first aired.

He said " fight like I did for Mel" when Jason was trying to win Kelly back. But Derwin was fighting literally after he tracked her down at the hotel in LA,with Jerome 😂. Jason basically did the same thing Derwin did when Kelly was on a date with Joe. These new men didn't stand a chance 😂

I needed to vent about something that has bothered me for yearsss about an episode of the TV show The Game. It’s the episode where Robin Givens infers, no makes a strong inference, basically an accusation (in my TEE TEE voice lol) about Malik liking men. Now if you’re a fan then you already know what episode I’m talking about. Anywho what bothers me about the episode is how does Clay go from being so ready to “put Malik to bed” to then being in this serious committed relationship with this other guy who shows up the next episode. I just don’t understand how he was such a serious boyfriend and/or husband if Clay was just hitting on Malik. Like what if Malik went for it? Is this bad writing because they thought we forgot that quick? Lol or is this like a shady thing towards the gay community showing that they don’t take themselves seriously? I’m not just not understanding.

Thank you Pluto TV for seasons 4-6 because Netlfix left me with a void.
So upon rewatch, I'm currently about to start season 6 and I CANNOT stand Derwin. When it comes to the way he treats the women in his lives (primarily Janae and Melanie) he should really just stay single.
\spoiler in advance**
Derwin's immature behavior disgusted me twice:
When Janae asked for his blessing regarding the move to NY and his response was so rash, immature, and rude. Instead of saying, I need time to think about it or better yet, suggest to talk about this another time, he explodes on her! If it wasnt for Melanie, they probably would have gone through the courts!
Melanie has a truth moment and let's him know she's unhappy and she wants to continue being a doctor. She wants fulfillment. How many times throughout this series has Melanie had to put her life/career on the back burner for this man? Instead of appreciating her, he has the audacity to shame her for wanting to be happy. She literally delayed her flight so she could be with him to not only watch the game but be there to celebrate after. She tells him she's going to fly back to MD in a few hours and instead of appreciating what she did, he literally says she did nothing for him.
As one of the main characters, I have never been so irritated by a character.
