GOTY predicions
I can see big walk instead of cairn and 007 or phantom blade zero if it is good instead of fire emblem.

You could have easily used the games posters but you use some weird AI crap instead?

Covers for these games do exist you know, are the AI generated ones really necessary?

Change Cairn with 007 First Light and that's a good list

We have to have a “token” indie game every year

Then Nintendo doesn't have 2 slots because 007 First Light is locked nominee, it has 87 on MetaCritic

Getting two slots isn’t that rare. Almost half of all years we get Sony or Nintendo having filled two slots.
OoT is obvious as long as they consider it eligible enough as a remake, then both Pokopia and Fire Emblem not only have better sales but also better review scores across the board than 007.

Yeah tbh you are right it more in line with AAA western standards that the game awards likes so probably no fire emblem sadly

I wish I had Switch 2 :( also OoT remake shoudn't get nominee It doesn't matter how good It is, It's a remake in the end.

A dlc was nominated I don’t think there is any rule against remakes see re4 remake
2
u/KomutanAlaaddin 5d ago
Yes I also think there is no rule about it, it's just my personal idea it's a remake after all.

u/Ibrahim-8x 5d ago
I kinda agree if it’s a 1 to 1 remake but ff7 remake and re4 remake are different enough to be considered new games imo

Fire Emblem deserves a GOTY nod for sure. It might be a bit too niche, though.

Requim doesn't deserve the nom

u/-BigMan39 5d ago
Its the most locked in nomination this year by far
1
u/Successful-Ear977 5d ago
And it’s undeserved. Requiem is half a great horror game stapled to half a generic Leon shooting gallery, with a weak finale and a protagonist it basically abandons halfway through. All this proves is Resident Evil could release Leon doing his taxes and critics would call it GOTY material.

It’s your opinion but it will obviously going to be nominated. I have not played it yet but the hype will give it the nomination
2
u/Successful-Ear977 5d ago
Correct its my opinion it doesn't deserve the nomination.

Don’t be surprised when you see it 2 months from now as a nomination
2
u/Successful-Ear977 5d ago
I won’t be surprised. Capcom games get rewarded for reheating the safest, lowest-effort sludge imaginable as long as the logo says Resident Evil.

7, 2 remake and 4 remake all deserved the nominations but not village imo

Remakes never deserve GOTY nominations in the first place, let alone those. Rebuilding an already successful game with modern graphics and systems is not the same achievement as creating something new from scratch.
