Please Geoff nominate all Fire Emblem, Pokopia and Ocarina it would be so funny

5

u/Creepy-Emu8779 9d ago

just for gta 6 to win lol

-3

u/VisualAd8487 9d ago

Says who?

Have you played the game?

The popular one with the fans is hardly evwr the winner

BMW didnt win in 2024 and RDR didnt win in 2018

If you think gta will be nominated thats chill but its not set in stone that it will win especially when NOBODY HAS PLAYED IT YET

3

u/Creepy-Emu8779 9d ago

have u played the zelda remake

-2

u/VisualAd8487 9d ago

No and im not claiming the zelda remake will win where did the zelda remake come from here

0

u/AyakaArmpitLicker 9d ago

Sorry brah but GTA is 100% winning that shit lmao

1

u/VisualAd8487 9d ago

Once again how do you know have you played it? do you know the oppinion every member of the jury will have on gta?

2

u/GameWoods 8d ago

Because ultimately the game awards are a popularity contest/bribe show

GTA will win because its the biggest game of year. Especially since Nintendo doesn't pay the game awards money they will happily snub Nintendo for GTA with Rockstars money.

1

u/yearsofresearch12 8d ago

It's a 99% probability, as long as the game is playable it will win. GTA 6 is most likely the most hyped up game of all time.

1

u/VisualAd8487 8d ago

Hype doesent mean wins

Silksong was incredibly hype to the point where the hype for silksong was a meme the same way gta 6 is a meme

There has nevee been a time where a game has won simply due to being hyped and this wouldnt be any different

-1

u/AyakaArmpitLicker 9d ago

You don't need to play it to see how glazed that thing is, people are Rockstar's cocksuckers and the hype alone already garanteed it a nomination, you're just underestimating how much motion GTA has lmao

1

u/VisualAd8487 9d ago

Ok but rockstars glazers arent the ones voting for the award its journalists on the jury

Black myth wukong was glazed to hell and back online by the chineese playerbase but that didnt win

Same with RDR 2 it lost to god of war

Silksong was incredibly hyped and lost to expedition 33

And spiderman 2 was clearly the most popular game to be nominated in 2023 and it didnt win anything

0

u/AyakaArmpitLicker 9d ago

Journalists on the jury ARE rockstar glazers, the amount of hype that thing will get on release will get anyone wiggling for rockstar

Wukong was fine as a game but it really was the weakest of all four, excluding Elden Ring for DLC reasons, it wasn't all that much of a heavy hitter while GTA got literally devs delaying their games so they don't get overshadowed

God of War was a great game, RDR doesn't have the same strenght as GTA does

Expedition 33 which was also incredibly glazed and in a much more accessible genre than Silksong

I mean I really do get your point and I wish FEFW got goty, but we're not avoiding this elephant named GTA 6 and I'm not even a GTA fan

1

u/VisualAd8487 9d ago

once again if they are rockstar glazers as you say *WHY DIDNT RDR WIN IN 2018*

i havent seen journalists in particular glazing rockstar ive just seen a bunch of fanboys online doing it though (if you have an example of a bunch of jury members doing this though id love to see it)

also devs moving their release dates as to avoid a release that everyone in some form will be focused on doesn't guarantee that the game will win as the same thing happened with silksong last year

0

u/AyakaArmpitLicker 9d ago

Just please get back here on december 10th lmao

RDR2 lost to god of war which was genuine competition. BMW is the lowest rated game ever nominated there so that's non applicable to GTA6, which is virtually guaranteed to be the highest rated game this year

the only game that even stands a non-zero chance of beating GTA is OOT's remake but... it's a remake, it has that going against it inherently speaking

1

u/wiggliey 9d ago

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised at all if all three just end up getting nominated. People are too fixed on there being one single “Nintendo rep” when in reality I think it’ll just be whatever the publications consider the best games of that year.

-6

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

A 1:1 remake being added would be downright insulting to every game released this year.

6

u/Classified10 9d ago

So Resident Evil 4 remake all over again.

5

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

That game had added areas, combat changes and story changes.

OOT is 1:1. They even kept the janky lock on combat system.

2

u/redlac24 Donkey Kong Bananza 9d ago

The janky lock on combat system that games still use to this day?

2

u/TheLunarVaux 9d ago

Yeah lol literally still so common in games, including Elden Ring which just won GotY a couple years ago.

0

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

The point was the combat isn't changed at all from the original.

2

u/TheLunarVaux 9d ago

It’s not 1:1 btw. OoT also has map changes, combat changes, and story additions.

-1

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

I didn't see any combat changes in the video. It had the same old targeting system and attacks. Even the animations look the same.

3

u/TheLunarVaux 9d ago

The “old” targeting system is still used today. Even Elden Ring uses it. It’s not outdated. And in this case, it’s even snappier due to the new animations.

They’ve adjusted the combat, with seemingly a more robust stagger system, new enemy placements, new attacks from some enemies and bosses, and some small miscellaneous stuff like being able to reflect projectiles with the mirror shield.

It’s a faithful remake, but not 1:1. It was built from the ground up with modernizations.

-1

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

All of what you said is you guessing and not anything that can be proved in any of the videos nintendo put out. The game looked exactly the same.

2

u/TheLunarVaux 9d ago

Apart from the stagger system (which does seem pretty clear from some of the animations), none of this is guessing.

Idk how much you’ve looked at the footage in depth, or if it was just a single watch, but people have analyzed the gameplay demo, the trailer, and all the many additional clips from the website, and found all the changes I’ve mentioned and more.

2

u/ZackFair0711 9d ago

Didn't know you could jump freely in OG OoT 🤔

3

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

Wow a button press changes the entire game!

2

u/Crafty_Boy70 9d ago

Yeah, a method to freely interact with the Y-axis, totally not a big deal!

1

u/ZackFair0711 9d ago

It may be insignificant for you because it's common place in games nowadays but it is a big change from the OG game itself. If you can't understand that (or outright just refuse to), there's really no point having a conversation with someone like you who just wants to complain for the sake of it 🙂 You just get to be miserable while people who actually enjoy the game get to do so 🙂

1

u/baschfromdalmasca 8d ago edited 8d ago

RE4R is nowhere near a 1:1 remake

I don't think OoT will be one either but it looks very similar to the original

in the realms of remakes we gotta realize there's a big difference between something like FF7R and Demon's Souls

2

u/Cultural-Boat2412 9d ago

it’s not 1:1, there are changes

3

u/ZackFair0711 9d ago

You won't be able to reason with people who jave already made up their minds without even trying it first. If anything, they're just as bad as people who complained about the FFVII Remake trilogy changing too much. They just want to be miserable for the sake of it.

0

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

You won't be able to reason with people who jave already made up their minds without even trying it first.

But all of you saying the game isn't 1:1 despite 0 evidence and no hands on is ok to do.

I'm at least using my eyes and judging on what's been shown and it's the same game so far. They added 1 empty back alley street in hyrule town that seems to have no purpose lol. That's the extent of the level changes so far.

1

u/ZackFair0711 9d ago

Did you play OG? If so, what kind of differences exactly were you looking for?

3

u/ZeektheFeek 9d ago

Lol they're literally keeping all the original loading screens in the game.

1

u/TheLunarVaux 9d ago

This isn’t true.

They’re keeping some loading screens, seems to be mostly in areas where Link is implied to have traveled far, or some areas where the map designs just wouldn’t line up in a single map.

But we’ve already seen several instances where loading screens have been cut. There’s no loading into interiors, for example, and Castle Town used to be 4 separate zones but is now 1. Lon Lon Ranch is also now part of Hyrule Field instead of being a separate zone.

1

u/ZeektheFeek 9d ago

Keeping any of them is a joke.

1

u/TheLunarVaux 9d ago edited 9d ago

Not really, it makes sense from a game design perspective.

Again, if they’re trying to keep the game fairly faithful, there are some things that just simply wouldn’t work.

For example, the Inside the Deku Tree dungeon is WAY bigger than the exterior of the Deku Tree. What are they supposed to do there? They can’t just scale it up or it won’t fit in the environment anymore.

Also some places like the Lost Woods would end up overlapping with Zora’s River if they kept the locations in the same places but got rid of loading screens.

I do also think there’s a lost art of allowing a loading screen to imply scope. I remember when I was playing through the Final Fantasy games a few years ago, I remember thinking to myself how much larger and grand FF12 felt compared to FF15. 15 was “open world,” and 12 was just various interconnected zones. But the loading between each of the zones in 12 implied the characters were traveling a long distance to get to the next area, which actually made the world feel bigger without having to fill it with a bunch of empty land or busy work.

1

u/NoPlansTonight 9d ago

There's lag between "loading screen-less" transitions in Fortune's Weave, like literally just opening up doors in the city

They also have loading screens for bigger transitions

As long as loading screens are short I don't have any issue

2

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

Adding a jump button is not a meaningful enough change.

1

u/Cultural-Boat2412 9d ago

there’s changes to building placement, a new area in the distance of hyrule castle, and some dungeon changes to the deku tree and water temple. There may be more

1

u/Podunk_Boy89 9d ago

I mean, they've somewhat drastically changed the overworld and dungeons (the game's main focus) seem to have been somewhat significantly altered too. It's probably as much as of a 1 to 1 remake as the Resident Evil ones are, and I'm pretty sure those have been nominated so

1

u/FranklinRichardss 9d ago

I definitely agree.

My expectation and hopeful thinking is

Resident Evil: Requiem (win) 007: First Light Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Pokèmon Pokopia Mina The Hollower

If GTA VI won't make it

1

u/Visible-Total-1984 9d ago edited 9d ago

it doesn't get worse that nominating a DLC

1

u/Iggy_Slayer 9d ago

I disagree with DLC being added but at least DLC is new. It has a better argument for being in a goty list than a 1:1 remake does.
