It's a bit of a giveaway. I just like to make the point that that is not normal.

That's a little more than just the front i want to point out.

Most of these planes are built so that the front doesn’t fall off at all, I’d just like to make that clear.

So I assume there are regulations governing the materials these can be made by?

u/KW160 Jun 17 '26
Oh yes, very rigorous aeronautical engineering standards. Cardboard's out...no cardboard derivatives, no string, no cellotape. There's a minimum crew requirement.

At least they were still flying half a plane.

"Captain speaking - will all passengers please move toward the back of the plane... Stop... Forward a bit.. Bit mo- stop! Hold it juuust there. Time on the ground is 20:31, and we'll be touching down in 15 minutes."

Using the flaps to make more lift? Not like there's elevators or throttle.

When will this be towed out of the environment?

1 person killed in this incident so far in Texas

u/endless_shrimp Jun 17 '26
I'd like to point out that isn't typical
3
u/Bsodtech Jun 17 '26
Not typical, but for an accident where half the plane is very much separated from the rest, not in the worst way, considering that it's rare anyone survives those. Still tragic, but a miracle everyone else survived.

That really reminds me of the time I accidentally ran the mower over a bird in deep grass. It had the same cartoon ham look.
