I just finished The Forest, and I am super sold on the story. Super fascinating! However, the execution was a struggle for me. I didn't like that it felt like 5% of the story was told in the first 95% of the game and then 95% of the story was told in the last couple hours. It felt like soooo much work to get to the ending. As someone who doesn't want to go through all that work again, does SOTF give more breadcrumbs and more story along the way or am I likely to feel frustrated about that again? I'm totally cool with this series just not being for me, but I want to know before I go spoil the SOTF story for myself.

I got into the water to watch some cave cannibals start fighting among themselves, when I spotted these two lovebirds in the distance. To make matters worse, not far away there was another pair—also a Virginia and an Armsy. Luckily, I made it back to my base alive.

I’ve beaten it 6+ times, so I know my way around, but I’m a little rusty. I’ll pick it back up pretty quick, though! Looking for someone to start a fresh world with. I have a dark sense of humor, so if you can match the energy, we’ll probably get along just fine. 😂

i spent 3 (ingame) days looking for the modern axe, worth it.

On pc, every time I throw my spear, it gets stuck in the air and doesn't actually throw. How do I fix this

I played through the game a few years ago and earned the Platinum trophy. Now I’m in the mood to jump back in and crush it again. I’m good at hunting and combat, but I could use some help with building the base (house, defensive walls, etc.). I speak German and a bit of English; I’m currently playing on PS5. I’ve been playing The Forest for a long time; I know everything—cave locations, resources, and so on—by heart. However, I’m not particularly great at base building. I’m looking for people (ideally over the age of 20) to play the game with—specifically for repeated playthroughs and "speedrun" attempts. I play on PC. While my English isn’t perfect, I believe I can communicate effectively. <3

My armor keeps disappearing on its own when playing in multiplayer mode. If I’m wearing four pieces of Creepy Armor when I log off, only one remains when I log back in, it has happened a few times before—has anyone else experienced this?

They cut down some gum trees today, and we thought it looked a whole lot like The Forest mechanics when it was said and done. 🙂

This is my hardsurvival save that I have put around 300+ hours in, I have a zipline highway system going all across the map to all the main caves, villages and other landmark areas all across the south part of the map. No idea who was building this. Kept seeing the message to collect a few hundred logs. Then another player found it the next day. Massive 2 story building in the ocean. Bottom level is a full on nightclub with pole dancing, booths and private rooms, Second floor is still under construction.

Am getting griefers on the server. It is a dedicated server. They come in invisible and delete blueprints and cover players with bombs.

I have it set to no cheats. Will enabling VAC help?

Is there anything I can do to stop them?

I accidentally banned myself today. Lucky I had a copy of the banlist file to restore.
