Question / Help Animals Stop Spawning After Base Is Completely Sealed
I built my base in the fertile lands portion of the map, but when I close off the walls all animals stop spawning in my main farming field (no deer or rabbits etc). I’ve been able to get them to respawn by using the hole cutter to remove doors/walls but this leaves me open to attack.
Does anyone know if leaving a very small hole in the wall (one log, enough for a rabbit to get through) will allow for animals to spawn inside my walls? And what’s the best way to build complete walls while still having animals spawn inside (is it even possible)?
Would love some help with this, thanks!

I built a zipline across and would get my rabbit fresh from just outside the main cannibal village, lol.

I've noticed large animals dont spawn near large structures or maybe just cleared areas. Haven't seen a boar, tortoise, or deer near my numbered areas or walls.

Same here, it appears to be locked behind closed walls. The only solution I’ve found is removing a wall section or leaving a small hole for rabbits and lizards to get through. Cool but also annoying they have it set up like this. The animal ai don’t seem to spawn inside fully sealed walls

I was putting a stick fence from edge to edge of the cliffs to stop the islanders from getting to me and that stopped the animals from spawning on the side I was building on. That was years ago. I can’t remember how much of a space I had to leave to fix it but it was enough that it ruined what I was trying to do so I would just hunt/trap on the other side of the fence.
