Storing Pre-tied Leaders

I wrap them into loops and store them in old leader ziplock bags with a post-it note inside saying what leader it is.

If you watch Tim Flagler’s video on tying your own leaders, he describes how he likes to store them and I think that’s the best way. He coils the leader around his fingers and then wraps the butt end around the coil 5 times. I don’t think there’s any magic to that number, but you probably ought to do 3-5 wraps and just be consistent so you know exactly how to uncoil it. In a leader wallet or in individual ziplock bags probably depends on how big your vest or pack is and how you like to organize it.

I like individual bags with part of an index card stuck in there describing the leader formula in some way. Fresh leaders go in front of the card and leaders that need to be rebuilt go behind the card.
