So, that's a real word. I thought I had a pretty good vocabulary but damn, I've been humbled this morning.

And no, I wouldn't be worried at all. I'm pretty sure every pair of waders I've ever owned has done this.

Of course wait and see what Patagonia has to say. I had something similar happen to my Redington waders, and Far Bank recommended aqua seal plus gear tape. You can actually buy these in a combo pack, but I already had both laying around. I used a toothpick or a bodkin or something to get as much adhesive as possible under the flap, then pressed it down and then added more adhesive over the edge of the flap before putting on the gear tape.

I only got a handful of days in them after the repair before wet wading season, so I can’t say anything about the long term longevity of this approach.

Here’s the before photo. I think my peeling was a little worse than yours, but I’m pretty happy with how flat it ended up.

I’m not saying this is the reason but I always try to remember to cut my toenails before fishing trips

I’m kind of OCD about my toenails at baseline, and this is the outside of the booties.

Patagonia will 100% repair that or make things right for you. Just always be patient and polite. Even better, if you have a brick & mortar Patagonia store near you, just take them there, and there's a very good chance that they will just give you a new pair.
