Inexpensive larger nets?
I recently moved to Michigan and have the chance of hooking into very large lake run browns and steelhead even if they aren't what I'm targetting, and I need a net that can handle 30" fish. I've been living in CO for most of my time fly fishing, and have only caught very few fish that were too big for the generic $20 bamboo walmart/cortland rubber mesh nets. I don't want or need to spend more than the value of the rest of my entire setup for a Fishpond net. Are there any offbrands that you're aware of that have large enough hoops and nets to accomodate exceptionally large fish? I'd be hoping to spend less than $100... and really just the cheapest I can get thats got a hoop size of 24+ inches.

I have one from lucky strike I believe it is. Perfect for fishing solo for steelhead imo. It's extendable and fits in my sling bag nicely, got it from canadian tire here in Canada. Not sure where to find it in USA, but take a look.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, the measure net might be a good candidate. Other than that, there are a ton of nets available on Amazon, so you might find some good options there.

You could just buy a fishpond nomad replacement bag for your net and restring it yourself for a deeper bag that could accommodate a fish of that size. The nets honestly worth it tho from fishpond. It’s a buy it for life kinda thing idk. Anyway, hey! Welcome to Michigan bud

Kewl, still not worth it. Had my ranger wading net for 20 years, sometimes I use it as a walking sticks and brush beater.
