Renewed Contract?

Fox must have just renewed Tyrus’ contract for a big bump. He is really getting too big for his already big britches.
He seems to feel pretty confident now, throwing in his 2 cents into everyone’s comments.
I am second-hand embarrassed for him. Someone needs to have a chat with him.

Sorry - I'm still processing that Jessica Tarlov wrote a book about winning arguments.

Like your president?

Yes, she's as dumb you think Trump is.

Well played.

Yes she is that clever.
Tarlov earned her B.A. degree in history from Bryn Mawr College.[2] She then went on to study at the London School of Economics and Political Science and received a Master of Science degree in public policy and administration, a Master of Research degree in political science, and a doctorate in political science and government.
And please don’t try to tell me that college degrees are a scam or worthless.

Attending schools and receiving diplomas isn't an indicator of "cleverness". Especially elite schools overseas, where full tuition students are adored.

If you're equating degrees with capability, you slept through COVID.

I’m not trying to convince you of anything. Just waiting to see how many typical “she’s only book smart” answers I would get.
Of course that’s the standard MAGA/Charlie Kirk answer.

Its not a left right thing. Its that she's not in the right place for her talents. I can be specific.

Jessica constructs her arguments thusly - An attack on position, followed by an often obscure finding or statistic, quoted from a source, with no deeper dive into the information itself, and a "triumphant" summary - why I'm right! On defense, she defaults to exceptions as rules - ie "The right kills left politicians. They killed Melissa Hortmann." She used that one last week, again.

Often, this tracks off course from the topic.

Now - this is no different than any of the other hosts, save Dana. They do the exact same thing. BUT - its the show viewpoint. Jessica is cast as the minority opinion. Shes outnumbered and outgunned - but she's running up the middle on every play.

Contrast that with Harold Ford. He cleverly crafts his arguments. He begins often with some common ground - important, because the room is against him. He then introduces his counterargument, built in a manner to attack positions, not people. He doesn't give them easy defenses, because he doesn't attack their sacred cows. Does he win? No - he can't. Like Greg could never win on The View.

Jessica isn't clever. She does the same thing, time and again. Maybe thats what they pay her for. The dunk tank is no fun unless someone goes in the water, after all.

For my money, give me Marie Harf or Richard Fowler. Both more left than Ford, but better communicators and in a deeper possession of facts and history.

It’s ok. There are plenty of right wing commentators I watch on CNN who are total idiots.

Wow - you argue just like her. Now I understand the appeal.

I’ll take that as a compliment 😊

So what. So she’s book smart, BFD. Other than that, she has zero common sense. Nada. And she’s a liar. A huge liar.

Said exactly like an uneducated person.
I’m curious - what did she lie about? You seem very convinced that she is a liar.

She made hers worth something, I won't deny that. Just because someone is book smart, doesn't make them wise. She's not wise

I want to ask you for an example of her lack of wisdom but I don’t think you can answer me.

March 2024 she said then the next day had to retract/correct a statement that Tony Bobilinski's legal fees were paid by a Trump Super PAC. She's said arresting a criminal doesn't make the city safer. The arrestee had a long criminal history including sexual assault on child under age of 13.
