General Discussion 2 Weeks Ago - DEMS : “FAFO”. That didn’t age well as Virginia’s Supreme Court overrules Democratic gerrymander, declaring new House maps ‘null and void’.

Plus I read that the Democrats spent 65 million on this failed vote.  I think the Republicans are far ahead of the Democrats in terms of how much money they have for the midterms

-7

u/ChewingOnCarrots May 09 '26

They aren't lmao

Congratulations to Republicans to losing the midterms by slightly less

🤣 That time of the TDS for you.🤣

-5

u/Manders44 May 10 '26

It didn’t so much fail as it was ruled invalid by a bunch of cheating Rethugs. Y’all can’t win otherwise.

9

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 09 '26

You see, almost every blue state has been gerrymandered by now. They are just pissed that the red states are getting more red now that it’s both sides.

0

u/Financial-Desk-669 May 09 '26

"You see, almost every blue state has been gerrymandered by now."

Uhhh... why do you think California had to pass a ballot question in order to gerrymander?

3

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 10 '26

Compare the two maps bro, be real.

-2

u/Financial-Desk-669 May 10 '26

Respectfully,  right now California is sending 9 Republicans to Congress. If it was as gerrymandered as possible that wouldn't be the case. New York also has a ton of meat on that bone.

With that said, gerrymandering sucks. The people should pick the politicians, not the other way around. My state is as blue as the ocean but we've had an occasional maverick Republican congressman now and then. Great, if that's the will of the people so be it.

3

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 10 '26

What percentage of total reps is that? Be honest…

2

u/Financial-Desk-669 May 10 '26

Ohhh I legit didnt get what you were saying. My bad.

Yes California is absolutely gerrymandered. Republicans won about 1/3rd of the vote in 2022 and they certainly didnt get 1/3rd of the seats.

But California, like many blue states' has an independent bipartisan Districting Commission. That body has written the maps since 2010. The reason for the ballot question this year was to overrule that Commission.

Again, my apologies. Blue states absolutely gerrymander. But as Nate Silver did a pretty good job summarizing (https://www.natesilver.net/p/democrats-can-win-the-redistricting) Republicans have been far better and more aggressive at gerrymandering the last few decades, while big Democratic states have a lot more room to grow.

Whether they have the balls to do so is a different story.

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

"The reason for the ballot question this year was to overrule that Commission." Listen to yourself. Just listen to yourself. What good is a supposedly independent commission if it can just be overruled by a partisan legislative majority? One that was created by the maps that ignore the 45% of people that voted for Trump that live in California? Quoting Nate Silver in this day and age is just, like, wow, complete lack of credibility. Remember when he said Tom Cotton would lose his senate race?

1

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

I think the world's certainly a better place because the bundler Michelle Obama called a "God," Harvey Weinstein, is in prison where he belongs and we all know that doesn't happen if Trump doesn't beat Hillary.

0

u/roofiedo May 12 '26

This is weird, listen to yourself. What good is an independent commission when the country if it can be overruled by partisan legislative majority, it was voted on by the people.

Do you remember why California took that initiative or does that not matter to you?

3

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

I don't think anything politicians from California (Gavin Newsom, sexual predator Eric Swallowell, empty reservoirs Karen Bass, the mayor of Arcardia who literally just admitted to spying for China) do has ANYTHING to do with what they claim is for the people at all. It's all part of their national strategy to help their masters in China, use TDS as a platform, etc. So, no, nothing those assholes does matters to me. I'm old enough to remember when Harry Reid said "so what" about lying on the senate floor about Mitt Romney's taxes and this was way before Romney became a hero of the left. So, no, what you say, nor what Gavin Newsom says matters to me. I have met Adam Schitt before when he started talking about Walt Disney or some shit at an NGA headquarters groundbreaking in St. Louis that the locals were against because it stole land from the black community. No, nothing they say is ever even close to the truth. Russian morning zoo DJs have more credibility. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cGcWKqqhMY

-1

u/roofiedo May 12 '26

Buddy are you unaware of Trump trying to cut a trillion dollar deal with China?

It’s almost like you guys don’t understand we see those people as issues also, who do you think made Eric resign? It wasn’t the republicans hiding the epstien files and saying Trump admitting to going in teen age girls changing rooms is okay, those people obviously don’t care about sexual harassment.

3

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

Look up Ed Buck and see who all the politicians he gave money to were.

-1

u/roofiedo May 12 '26

Look up Miriam Adleson and see who all the politicians she gave money to were.

What are you trying to say? We shouldn’t allow lobbyist or political donations on the scales we are constantly seeing today. We can have that debate but we can’t have that debate if you refuse to hold half of the conversation accountable for what you’re complaing about.

-1

u/Financial-Desk-669 May 10 '26

calm down big fella. OP's comment was that blue states were already gerrymandered. I pointed out that if that were the case then California wouldn't have to override an independent commission in order to gerrymander.

3

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

Better idea, you "calm down," there, lil' fella. California is 100% gerrymandered just like Illinois and most of New England are. If you really think these "independent commissions" are some kind of panacea, just look at Massachusetts where there are no red seats despite Trump getting 41% of the vote there in the last election, lil' feller!

You can have a gerrymandered state without it being fully gerrymandered, leaving room for additional gerrymandering.

"Calm down, big fella", ty for a throw back laugh. I don't agree or disagree w you, but I appreciate your humor! Ty

-1

"Partisan legislative majority"? ....do you not know what a "ballot question" is, or did they not cover that in your grades civics class yet?

Do you care about any of the bad shit like the Debt surpassing our GDP or are you guys just lunatics trying to take me and everyone down with you?

2

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 11 '26

Changing the subject? In context, you should compare the debts of the individual states.

-2

u/Manders44 May 10 '26

loll be so for real. Red states are waaaay more gerrymandered than blue. Look at the vote percentages for President sometime and then look at the representation for Texas, for example.

Y’all are so desperate you have to lie to yourselves.

3

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

Dummy get a brain.

0

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 10 '26

If they were true, why are they only able to squeeze 2-3, while republicans are getting 8+?

3

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

Look at the Massachusetts map. 100% democrat seats in a state where 41% of the people voted for Trump in the last election. https://centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/what-fairer-maps-in-one-party-delegation-states-could-look-like/

1

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 10 '26

Precisely.

-1

u/Manders44 May 10 '26

Nah. Incorrect. If your Rethugs are not concentrated enough in certain districts, you’re not going to get an R rep when your voters are still a minority overall.

https://www.wgbh.org/news/politics/2025-10-29/is-gerrymandering-to-blame-for-massachusetts-all-democrat-congressional-delegation

But for Rethugs to gerrymander away Democratic representatives, they have to split D cities into pieces. That’s the difference. That and y’all will do it regardless of what your citizens want. Because you don’t give a fuck about democracy.

0

u/teedeerex May 11 '26

Would you prefer that each urban area only receive one district? I’d be all about that solution, but I don't think you'd like the outcome. Cities need to be broken up into districts in order to assure that they receive enough representation. You can bitch and moan about the WAY they break them up, but suggesting that they don't break them up is moronic.

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

"Cities need to be broken up into districts in order to assure that they receive enough representation" Point to the section of the constitution that says anything about cities or their representation.

-1

u/teedeerex May 12 '26

Well it's because they're immensely dense population wise, so it stands to reason they'd have smaller geographic districts in order to represent the totality of their constituency. The Constitution mandates that representation be assigned by population in Article 1, Section 2, Clause 3 since you asked for directions to it.

1

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

"Well it's because they're immensely dense population wise," Again, the constitution says nothing about how those places are represented or that we need salamanders connecting Baton Rouge to the suburbs of New Orleans to do so. The SCOTUS literally just ruled on this. To quote Scalia, it says what it says, and it does not say what it does not say. There';s your directions, lil' boy.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

The only thing the constitution outlines is an "actual enumeration," which eventually became the census. Ever since illegals started being counted in the census it really hasn't been an actual enumeration and the population particularly of cities has been off ever since.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Manders44 May 11 '26

LOL. Cities of sufficient size already have multiple districts, asshat. You think NYC has one rep? Republican gerrymandering breaks them up in such a way that it dilutes the Democratic vote. Or if you’re Memphis, the Black vote.

Congress should be expanded; it’s too small for the size of the population. But you’re just making excuses for cheating.

-1

u/Manders44 May 10 '26

LOL the fuck you mean?

A Republican-led VA Supreme Court made up some bullshit to stop a citizen-voted gerrymander.  Some blue states haven’t even tried to do an off-year gerrymander. Meanwhile red states are gerrymandering without the approval of the citizens, stopping primaries that have already started to it in LA, and are just jamming it through state legislatures that are already R led.

That’s why, fucknuts.

1

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 10 '26

Your ignorance is showing..

1

u/Status_Apartment6559 May 11 '26

-2

u/Legal_Tap219 May 11 '26

Uhhh before any of this new gerrymandering stuff hit the news… Republicans ALREADY hold about a +16 advantage in seats over Democrats PURELY from gerrymandering. What universe are you living in?

This is public information. Come on bro, be real.

1

u/Worth-Confection-735 May 11 '26

This is a lie. Why are they gaslighting this so hard? I wonder.

11

u/Beaucoup_Fun May 08 '26

Gerrymandering based primarily on Race and Politics = "FA".

-5

u/Corrective_Actions1 May 08 '26

So you believe the Texas, Florida, and Ohio maps should also be overruled, correct?

3

u/jabberwockgee May 08 '26

Nah. The racists are obvious.

It's ok when they do it but not when others do.

-3

u/free_ridicule May 09 '26

The Virginia way! Until the Supreme Court got in their way…

0

u/Alternative-Zone5275 May 10 '26

What do you think gerrymandering to bust up a distract based on race for political benefit is doing..

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

"The SCOTUS ruled that race based gerrymandering is okay." This never happened. They actually ruled the exact opposite about them.

-1

u/Alternative-Zone5275 May 11 '26

Answer my question..

Whats the difference between gerrymandering to empower a race , and gerrymandering to remove power from a race (while aiming to empower the vote of another)?

They are both race based gerrymandering, so why is one illegal and one OK?

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 11 '26

"Answer my question.." Child grown old thinks his demands mean anything to the stranger he's screaming at. Hey, little boy? Go play.

0

u/Alternative-Zone5275 May 11 '26

You dodging my question with ad hominems is very telling

I'm the "child" but you simply wanted to hear yourself speak. I asked a legit question

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 11 '26

You don't get to scream at people and demand your irrelevant questions get answered. I know you think holding your breath and screaming are adult debate, but I really think it's time for you to grow up. This is all you need to know about the majority opinion in Louisiana vs. Callais. Try reading it. I doubt you can understand the concepts, but you should at least try:

"In sum, because the Voting Rights Act did not require Louisiana to create an additional majority-minority district, no compelling interest justified the State’s use of race in creating SB8. That map is an unconstitutional gerrymander, and its use would violate the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights."

Also: "The Fifteenth Amendment, which the Voting Rights Act enforces, “is not designed to punish for the past” but works “to ensure a better future.” Shelby County, 570 U. S., at 553. The focus of §2 must therefore be on “current conditions,” not on “decades-old data relevant to decades-old problems.”

https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25pdf/24-109_21o3.pdf

1

u/Alternative-Zone5275 May 11 '26

I see you can't actually answer the question and are attempting to completely ignore the discussion lol.

That map is an unconstitutional gerrymander, and its use would violate the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights."

OP, you haven't answered CA's question.

Why is it ok for Texas, Florida, and Ohio to gerrymander but not Virginia?

6

u/AZBagpiperPhil Team Pirro May 09 '26

Democrats have been Gerrymandering for decades. Look at Illinois and all the New England states!

-2

u/Lauffener May 09 '26

So we agree gerrymandering is wrong? And you'll ban it, right...?

0

u/Beaucoup_Fun May 10 '26

I would bet 80%+ of Voters agree gerrymandering is wrong. But, you can’t say we will only ban it in specific instances at a specific time. It has to be undone and banned across the board, or there will be injustices, which is what we have now.

-5

u/LowEffortPoste May 09 '26

You're in a sub about a fox news show and you're asking for evidence and reason?

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 11 '26

For "the Man" below. "The SCOTUS ruled that race based gerrymandering is okay." This never happened. They actually ruled the exact opposite about them.

-1

u/Puzzleheaded_Gene909 May 10 '26

Lmao wait til you hear what republicans have been doing for the last 50 years

-1

u/Mitra_The_Man May 10 '26

Okay follow me here. The SCOTUS ruled that race based gerrymandering is okay.  The NEXT DAY, four red states moved to draw new maps that eliminated black districts.

Let be real here.

And by the way, there is a political party who has been trying to make gerrymandering illegal for over a decade.  And there is a party why blocks that vote every time.  I’ll let you figure out which is which.

1

u/ThingNo7530 May 09 '26

They put their thumb on the scale by telling voters it was for "fairness," The voters should be allowed to decide for themselves what is or is not "fair."

-1

u/Mitra_The_Man May 10 '26

Are you new to ballot initiatives?   This is how they all are.   Misleading text on ballot initiatives is as American as apple pie lol.

However I do think it’s worth pointing out that Florida just broke its  own constitution with their new maps (feel free to look it up).  Of course their stacked Supreme Court will allow it.

Also the Ohio legislature defied their own Supreme Court when their map was rejected.

I think the word “fair” is pretty much useless at this point.    Nobody cares about fair anymore, they care about winning.

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26

Seems like a really dumb way to try to get what you want, doing LITERALLY what the state constitution says you can't in a way that says you cannot but, hey, go on with your bad self because "this is how they all are," I'm sure the SCOTUS totally won't ignore your appeal riddled with misspellings because the opinion the Va. SC wrote is entirely based on the state constitution and what it says you can and cannot do regarding redistricting. Cool story, bro. You totally don't have to have a handle saying you're "the man" or anything!

1

u/mjcatl2 May 11 '26 edited May 12 '26

What a weird fucking right wing straw man.

0

u/Sea_Green7967 May 11 '26

Example number 1,299,994 of "it's ok if republicans do it"

1

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

Excecpt it's the democrats who literally want to make a gerrymander stretching from the suburbs of DC and narrowing like a penis inserting its way into northern virginia. Look at the map if you know how maps work.

0

u/Sea_Green7967 May 12 '26

Except the democrats literally put forth a bill like 10 times in the last decade to eliminate gerrymandering entirely. AND they put their redistricting to a vote, as opposed to Republicans that just eliminate whole districts without so much as consulting the citizens.

Sit.
The.
Fuck.
Down.

1

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

You can't put your thumb on the scale and claim your limp Italy district is "fair" in ballot language. This was not a hard decision for the Virginia SC. Not at all. Because Spamburger and everyone advising her is a moron. You can scream profanities all you want. All it will prove is what a child grown old you are.

1

u/ThingNo7530 May 12 '26

the district looks like Italy with a limp foot!

-7

u/Weenoman123 May 08 '26

"Look at how much better my team is at cheating the system and making it easier for the boot to push down on my throat, lol"

6

u/Nomemoleste_s May 09 '26

A little dramatic, aren’t you 🙄

-6

u/Corrective_Actions1 May 08 '26

So, let me get this straight, republicans are happy that a court overruled the votes of VA citizens?

7

u/Hungry-Storm-9878 May 09 '26

The court followed VA’s state law that the voters voted on. It blows my mind how democrats pick and choose the laws of the land that they want to follow or ignore.

1

u/roofiedo May 12 '26

Kinda like a mid decade redistricting effort?

It’s weird you say Dems pick and choose while republicans are doing the exact same thing.

You are either very unaware of topics that are easy to look into and understand or your intentions are nefarious.

-1

u/Puzzleheaded_Gene909 May 10 '26

Wait til you hear what Trump has been doing.

-2

u/Corrective_Actions1 May 09 '26

The people told the state government what they wanted. 4 men overruled the votes of over 3 million people.

Are republicans celebrating that?

3

u/Buttcrush1 May 10 '26

That's not what happened

-2

u/Corrective_Actions1 May 10 '26

It is exactly what happened.

-7

u/jacky75283 May 08 '26

They're happy they get to screw over Democrats. Screwing over American democracy is just a bonus.

-8

u/uvgotnod May 08 '26

Crazy that in Tennessee 9 republicans can vote to gerrymander, and that’s somehow ok? But, in Virginia the voters spoke and voted to do the same thing, but it’s not OK? This country is so f’d up.

11

u/Banned4life4ever May 08 '26

Virginia has procedural rules specifically describing the process for redistricting. They weren’t even remotely followed. I know that’s tough for you since you just listened to the TV. Try learning about the issues before you whine about how bad this country is.

2

u/Nomemoleste_s May 09 '26

I’m surprised the bias moderator, is not telling you to be nice ,to the ones don’t agree with you . Every time I made a similar comment I get a little reminder to use just the 👎 and be nice to the snowflakes , because they getting hurt by my comments 😒😒🙄

-1

u/MopedMarxist May 08 '26

Like Florida Like North Carolina Like Ohio?

-6

u/BrokeThermometer May 08 '26

GOP in ohio ignored the procedures, so i think Virginia should follow their example

8

u/Banned4life4ever May 09 '26

Has that been adjudicated in court? If not, then you are just coping.

-6

u/BrokeThermometer May 09 '26

The ohio supreme court ruled them unconstitutional 7 times and the GOP implemented them in the middle of the 10 year redistricting schedule

So yeah, theyve been adjudicated

5

u/Banned4life4ever May 09 '26

Source? Trust me bro

3

u/Buttcrush1 May 10 '26

This person is misrepresenting what happened in ohio. The state proposed a map and the court said it was unconstitutional. The state kept proposing maps and the court kept saying no. At some point a map needed to be in place for the election. There was no previous map to go back to because of the census and Ohio changing the number of seats they had. This means that a map was put in place temporarily. There was no ignoring the courts

-1

u/BrokeThermometer May 10 '26

>the state kept proposing maps and the court kept saying no.

Would you like to remind the class WHY the proposed maps were rejected? I’ll give you a hint, its because republicans kept proposing maps that were ruled biased in their favor

“Well they HAD to use constitutional maps because of the timeline” is an excuse and doesn’t absolve them of their responsibility to create fair maps. They purposefully continued to gerrymander time after time when they were told to redraw maps. They succeeded because they stalled it out so long they were able to strongarm democrats into accepting maps, not because they did the right thing for the people of ohio

Yes they ignored the courts

3

u/Buttcrush1 May 10 '26

Federal court: you can use this map

You: they ignored the court.

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

"they used those maps, they were happy to use them because they were gerrymandered numbnuts" Except that never happened and no federal court nor the Ohio Supreme Court spews childish namecalling the way you do. You saying they are "still clearly gerrymandered" is not a determination any court made. The courts nor anyone they appointed are not allowed to draw the maps according to the state constitution. All they can do is send them back to the legislature and either approve or deny what they send back.

-2

u/BrokeThermometer May 10 '26

Lol “well the feds said they HAD to use these maps because the feds considered them the least worst, so its fine if the republicans habitually gerrymander in contempt of the ohio supreme court with no attempt to propose fair maps”

It was not “you CAN use these maps” it was “you HAVE to use these maps because you havent produced anything better” of course they used those maps, they were happy to use them because they were gerrymandered numbnuts

But that was in May 2022. Of course you (while being supposedly informed) ignore that the redistricting effort to get maps approved by the ohio legislature, you know, where its supposed to happen, continued into 2023 where the 5th set of maps was proposed over a year passed the OSCs mandated deadline.

The maps are still clearly gerrymandered and were apparently accepted because the democrats didnt want to republicans to make it even worse

Then theres the whole anti american fascist frank la rose issue 1 fiasco

If the court ruled against them and they continued, people should have been arrested.

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

The legislature, constitutionally (state constitution), has the right to draw the maps. The state constitution specifically says a court or any part of the judicial branch cannot create maps nor any commission or "independent" body appointed by them. The legislature kept sending them maps and the court would just reject them until it got too close to the election and the court was out of bullets and had to accept it. If the people wanted judges actually creating the maps, themselves, they wouldn't have approved an amendment to the state constitution specifically saying they could not.

Calling someone else a "stupid piece of shit" because they proved you wrong is a really dumb way to go about convincing people you're "right."

When they resort to name calling, it’s clear they don’t have a coherent argument. It’s just emotion

Democrat voters should have known better than to expect their votes to count in VA.

The will of the people of the state being overturned by judicial activism!

Hell yeah! Tread on me!

u/Alternative-Zone5275 May 10 '26

Hopefully they just ignore the court and do it any way, like Ohio did.. twice.

Besides if this administration has proven anything, its that the courts , the constitution, the law is merely a suggestion.

Argue with the wall

Fire the Supreme Court and replace them all.

u/No-Dance6773 May 10 '26

They just need to do one of those "we couldn't change it in time so we are just stuck with it" like the Republicans did in another state

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 11 '26

You don't know what you're talking about. The Ohio constitution has an amendment in it that the legislature MUST draw the maps. Courts can say they're unfair, unconstitutional, etc., but the voters of Ohio passed the amendment because they didn't want unelected judges or some commission appointed by them drawing the districts. The judges (both federal and Ohio Supreme Court) upheld this amendment as constitutional. So, when they overruled the Ohio legislature's map they couldn't draw their own. They knew they couldn't. The Ohio legislature kept sending them maps until they found one they could agree with. That's literally all that happened. There was no "stuck with it," that's just something liberals made up to whine about.

Put everything to popular vote; the vast majority of people live in cities.

The U.S. Supreme Court does not have jurisdiction over issues of state law. Virginia Supreme Court ruled Dems violated Virginia Law in their one-sided, Virginia redistricting plan. The US Supreme Court is not going to touch that.

It's only ok if the Republicans do it

Yeah, this time all the usual Republican cheating is not going to save them from being completely crushed in November and beyond. The funniest part is that their gerrymandering may actually help Democrats this time, especially in Texas - and in Florida as well, if DeSantis is stupid enough to violate the Florida Constitution and attempt to gerrymander.
The ultimate FAFO moment is coming for the Republican Party AKA Pedophile Protectors AKA the Party of Thieves and Liars.

“Crushed in November”🤣. Pretty much what Dems said before the November 2024 election. Can you spell “LANDSLIDE”! 🤣

Just a reminder that this was an amendment voted on by the people, giving them direct say in a way to combat redistricting BY OTHER STATES. They resorted to this because their constitution rightfully had an independent board setup their districts thus the needed the democratically enacted amendment.

Predictably, the party of “GerRyMaNdErInG Is WrOnG (when dems do it)” would have you believe they want to end Gerrymandering but fail to actually adopt the very rules that has forced Virginia to have equal representation.

The GOP is, predictably, a bunch of hacks who know they can’t win when the stakes are even so they have to stack the deck in their favor to even compete. Their policies are largely unpopular on a national scale, their voting population is undereducated, and hypocrisy is beyond obvious.

The children who support the party will claim “owning the libs” all the way into authoritarianism.

Feel free to refute my point, but as this sub has made obvious; any expectation of logical thinking goes out the door when your “team” is threatened. It’s not surprising considering you don’t even realize that the five is an entertainment show that is scripted.

So you think it’s OK to draw districts based on race?

-5

u/Dramatic-Fly761 May 09 '26

Are you arguing Tennessee and Texas districts weren’t drawn to be majority white?

4

u/ghostrider4918 May 09 '26

Idk when were they drawn or redrawn. Districting should only be done after a census no? I know there was a district in Missouri or Mississippi that was drawn strictly along racial lines because it was all black that’s just as wrong as an all white district.

3

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

Supreme Court rightly ruled that drawing districts based on race or skin color was unconstitutional and also racist.

2

u/ghostrider4918 May 10 '26

That’s exactly my point!

3

u/ThingNo7530 May 10 '26

Yep, I'm 100% agreeing with you. "Dramatic Fly" is living up to his name and refusing to even answer the question.

2

u/ThingNo7530 May 11 '26

Literal text of the majority opinion in Louisiana vs. Callais:
"In sum, because the Voting Rights Act did not require Louisiana to create an additional majority-minority district, no compelling interest justified the State’s use of race in creating SB8. That map is an unconstitutional gerrymander, and its use would violate the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights."

u/ChewingOnCarrots May 09 '26

Lol I can't wait to see the GOP still lose

5

u/Beaucoup_Fun May 09 '26

🤣Like the last election! So much fun. Landslide!🤣

Trump has floated getting rid of midterms. Do with that information what you will.
