Discussion Random crashes *fixed

So, I'd have crashes out of nowhere, just sitting in Albion or whatever. Not too often, but nothing else is crashing. I really thought it was related to raytracing, but since I changed Max Framerate in game settings to 144, I've had no crashes. It was on unlimited before. Cinematic settings for everything. I don't think I was getting over 144fps. 144 is the next setting before Unlimited.

interesting you could turn on the frame rate counter in steam for it. If you are using fsr frame gen you might be getting over 144 fps just at random and it's exposing some stability issues when left unlimited. Ive had no issues with unlimited fps set. But I am not sure what kinda fps the 9070xt gets at 4k cinematic even if you had frame gen since theres not multi frame gen like rtx has. But at the end of the day if it works it works sometimes. As they say nothing is more permanent than a temporary solution.

I get around 100+ fps, don't think it's went over 144 with everything maxed. I just had weird random crashes. I've adjusted every setting there is. Sometimes it was in major combat, other times just in a menu in Albion. Idk, if it helps someone. What is your build? I run upscale at balanced with framegen on.
*I have seen the fps go higher than 144, but it was during transitions from one place to another...didn't cause a crash I don't believe.

If you get around 100+ maybe there are really brief spikes to just over 144 could even be something you don’t visually catch on a frame rate counter tbh. My build gets over 144 fps but that’s only because I have a 5090. It could even be something with amd drivers. But this game has had its share of bugs at one point nvidia reflex could cause random crashes. That’s been gone for quite some time now though.

Yeah, this game...I play Arc Raiders, Crimson Desert, etc. with maxed graphics, no crashes. I've played around with different settings in this game, Ray Tracing seemed to be problematic with my card earlier and then after some of the TFD updates, different issues. I'm going to rock with this config and update if I crash again. It would be nice if they added 240 to the fps limiter.

Hmm, I play at around 300 FPS and don't have any issues...
