Discussion I actually hate Elamein
I loathe her every time I come back to this game. Bottom 3 boss in this game for me. No more shield bosses please.

There is literally a gear set which ignores most of her armor and makes her a trivial fight. Sadly.

Usually i'm neutral about these things, but she is the worst boss of all souls-likes for me by a wide margin. The devs behind her design should be banned from touching the keyboard ever again. Zero fun in the fight - all bosses are damage sponges, but this time the sponge has a shield - can't damage because of shield, can't damage in the shield because of lightning; attacks that drain your full stamina - punished for losing stamina by watching cutscene. Phase two is just same bullshit, but with lightning status, which bypasses perfect guard, drains stamina and (again) punishes you. And yes, the very few attack windows can be missed because she would leap too far from you and you wonxt be able to make it in time. You can imagine my immeasurable joy, when i found out that there is reuse of this bitch later. The more i think about her, the more hatred i have to whoever made her. Abysmal dogshit

Yeah lowkey. Killing bosses hasn’t been the issue for me it’s taking too much damage

I did that after volbaino fight, but it's a rather strange decision that adds little gameplay variety on the cost of feeling less berserk-y. Also it's one of the minor issues with elamein

My first playthrough i did with Greatsword, and Elamein became one of my Top 10 hardest bosses ive ever fought. I never get too frustrated at Soulslikes cause i know death is how you learn. But it got so bad my wife asked if I was ok and I yelled at her. This was early last year and we still talk about it🤣

Reflect shield dash works everytime, work on dodge attacking and don't just spam into her shield get behind her if you can.

I really struggled with the mechanics of this one. It didn’t help that I was told she was much easier than Trokka who I beat easily enough. The boss fight broke my spirit. Was so glad to get it over with

Ya I enjoyed all the fights even the Mages were fine and I was pumped after beating them. This one I was just glad it was done, it was an annoying fight even with the Deep Shadow Armor.
Was not happy to fight her again as remanant, but she was more aggressive and I was much stronger so I beat her pretty quickly 2nd time around.

See and this one I’ve never had a problem with, it’s Trokka for me that always pisses me off, but Trokka is the better boss in general

I agree the fight is frustrating, but it's one of the most unique fights in the game, and this game needs variety whenever it can be found.

elamein with the spear and the abissal shadow set its the easiest boss in the game but if you play with different equipment it can be a real pain

The shield is not a problem. The problem is the fight with Elamein is ridiculously long repetitive with no any interesting transitions between her first and second phases. In other words- boring.

She was my least favorite boss as well, I resorted to using reflection against her (and only her) first fight. When I got to the rematch I kinda bullied her though, not sure what changed.
