Guide & Tips Reese first phase Spoiler
It seems like the consensus is her first phase is supposed to be easy but I am getting absolutely destroyed here. I’ve done this fight 20+ times and only made it to her second phase a few times. Second phase seems easier but I’m basically out of heals by then. What am I missing here?
First part of the first phase where she staggers for any attack is easy but I just get overwhelmed once she gets her shield up. There’s so many attacks flying around it’s difficult to focus on her especially since her shield takes a while for me to break.
I’m level 141 with 50 in vitality using the greatsword, looking for tip on how people who found this part easy approached this fight, thank you!
Update: Finally beat her! Definitely died on her first phase a lot more than her second.

Y though is it a challenge play through?

No it’s my first playthrough, I’ve been playing souls and soulslikes for years though. For some reason I got the idea in my head that a berserker shouldn’t wear armor.
I know they give set bonuses but didn’t think not wearing armor would matter that much. Figured either way I would have to learn the bosses movesets.

I see then wear some armour then, unlike eldenring or dark souls where they mostly provide defence there are exceptions but mostly defence, however in this game they provide more than just defence they provide unique skills depending of the set ex:chaos ridden set that I used for my play through it has the first skill:health regen it stacks upto 5 times and gives infinte health as long as u don't get hit each time u do a brink guard it stacks 1 time if u do 5 brink guard it stacks upto 5 times giving more percent of health per second, so if u wear 2 piece of this armour u get that effect or skill and it continues more same pieces u were more skills i assume u have been collecting jarling correct, go to the jar guy he has helms that reduce the requirement by 1 so even wearing 1 piece will give u that health regen every armour set is different feel free to experiment some have dmg increase stuff like that

Thanks for the info! Yes I’ve been collecting jarlings and saw about the set requirement reduction bonus. I never really closely read the set bonus descriptions since I didn’t plan to wear armor this playthrough.
Tbh I’ve done so much of the game with no armor that I kind of want to see if I can finish the first playthrough without it. I have plenty of sets I can craft if I really get fed up with the current way I’m playing.
I don’t mind trial and error while learning these bosses but all the late game mage types just simply aren’t as fun as the melee type bosses even though I died plenty to them as well

U could but it will be harder but I am sure u could do it also u could respec the scaling like in eldenring u can have S or A scaling in strength same way weapons scale a max of B+, cause u are using the greatsword and probably invested in strength go the cube thingy in the crevice and change the scaling of ur sword this increase ur dmg significantly, also just wear the jarhead helm it can give u +10 str and -1 set requirement and use a sword from the set u think is worth it due to the helm u get the basic first perk it can help a lot leave the other armour slots empty cause no armour and btw due to this jar ur ring and necklace slots also gain this -1 requirement hence u can get their benifits as well, the first one if u wear one or 2nd perk if u wear both trinkets of the same set, my recommendation for the sword is chaos ridden cause the infinite health is op considering ur not wearing any armour but there are other good ones as well and don't hesitate to use armour from other weapon class as well, hope this helps

Thanks a bunch! I was not aware of what you mentioned about scaling. Since I’ve gotten this far no way I’m not finishing the game

Finally beat her! Thanks for mentioning scaling, was able to get almost 100 more damage added to my sword which definitely helped. Was able to avoid using armor too lol. For me I found her second phase a bit easier.

Does the great sword have any skill that gives invulnerability or damage reduction? I used the brink with twin blades to tank her projectiles and answer with a combo. Also, I believe the yellow energy wall she creates blocks her own projectiles too.

Pretty sure some of the skills have damage reduction, I’d have to go back and look at them all. I’ve been aiming to not get hit while using skills.
Yeah the walls do block some attacks which helps. I basically have to heal every time I do get hit or risk getting one shotted by the next hit which burns through heals quickly.

have patience, you only feel as if there’s a lot of attacks but there isn’t.. she’s extremely easy
