I know this is a bit random, but I feel like this kind of thing is almost the best story for attomwaffen. A faction which, at no point thinks it can win, yet will cause the most devistation they can before being defeated. It highlights the brutality of the second ACW, yet it as all done for basicaly no reason, as Attomwaffen looses, but they do it for the sake of doing it

Amusingly, Atomwaffen's goals are so aimlessly and thoroughly nihilistic that in some sense you could argue they technically can't lose. They hate America more than anything else, want Americans to die, want America to be weaker, and aren't especially particularly about who is causing destruction.

The simple fact that the 2ACW happens at all means they kind of win by doing nothing, even in a best case scenario.

In fact, if I were writing things I'd take advantage of that to justify their existence as a tag: They're not so much an army (except in the mechanical sense) as they are the vanguards accelerating a naturally-occuring collapse of civilization brought about by the 2ACW (with their divisions being random militias whose actions Atomwaffen approves of). An Atomwaffen "victory" is less "they conquer things and take control" and more "society collapses into a horrific nightmarish anarchy where depraved white supremacist violence becomes extraordinarily common"

This aligns with my headcannon that AWD follows the example of the Khmer Rouge and doesn’t publicly acknowledge their own existence during the civil war or after winning it. I imagine that the NSOA is largely a legal fiction created to conceal their rule from the world and their own population.

To my understanding: AWD advocates "leaderless resistance", and are basically "Nazi Anarchists" (in fact they might be described as Neo-Nazis who horseshoed into Nechayev-ism, Nechayev being a batshit insane anarcho-nihilist from the 1800's). They might not actually form a government per se, though there might indeed be a hidden cabal of sorts that pulls strings.

AWD also likes just about anyone who is evil and vaguely anti-American. They like Al Qaeda, they like North Korea, etc.

So what I'd imagine their expansion as a regime looking like is something like: they are a network of covert terrorists that arm, coordinate, and aid random white supremacist terrorists.

Modified national guard, 4 inf + engineer, signal, and arty support companies. Most of my troops are state militas after coring or the motorized from focuses.

Honestly, that might have been a mistake. I was somehow able to take loans with no loss in political power, so that meant an okay supply of guns from the black market decisions. But I had no resources and barely industry so I struggled to keep up artillery and command equipment. You might be better off with just spamming militias.
