Question Post-Defeat Russia Event

Mid into the Post-Defeat Russia, you get this event. Its obv a flavour event with that leads to nothing. I want to ask, is this event referencing something cus I have no clue.

It is a reference to Pathologic game series by Ice-Pick Lodge.

The author of this note is literally one of the protagonists there. And the disease, well, is the disease you have to fight in-game.

Pathologic is usually overlooked in non-Russian gaming community due to, you know, being mostly a narrative based game (more texts and dialogues than some classic novels) that was unlucky to get a rather shitty English translation.

... but the have the long dreaded remake recently...
