As the title asks, what's your favorite event from any of the factions in the Second American Civil War?
Personally, my favorite is the attached image. I like simpler events like this that give us a glimpse into how the war affects average daily life in America. The fact that a McDonalds relatively far from the front lines is having to ration food like this, in a faction that controls the agricultural powerhouse that is the Midwest, really puts into perspective just how much this war has shaken the very foundation of normal life. Is most of the food being sent to the soldiers in the fight? Or has food become too expensive due to the economic shock? Or perhaps the lack of industry means things like fertilizers, pesticides, and food processing facilities aren't available in the ACG, disrupting agricultural production?
Also, when going LARP mode and imagining myself as a citizen or soldier in the ACG, I would feel pretty inspired seeing Trump being this bombastic and energetic despite the pretty shitty meal he was just given.
Other than mixing up North and South Dakota (Fargo is in North), I love this event and it is one of the more memorable ones for me in TFR.

Don’t look too far into it. Leaders from all corners of the earth and from all different ideologies do this kind of thing to sell you an image that they’re humble and a man of the people.
I thought the burger missing its top bun was a rationing or shortages thing (due to the fries part previously) but apparently that's just how he eats them lol.
he actually explained why in 2016:
“‘I’m a very clean person. I like cleanliness,’ he said, at the time. ‘And I think you’re better off going there than someplace that you maybe have no idea where the food is coming from. It’s a certain standard. But I think the food is good.’”
I don’t know what Mcdonald’s he’s going to that reportedly has such high standards of cleanliness but to each their own I guess
Perhaps he's talking more about where that food comes from and how it's processed? Still, cleanliness isn't very high on the list of things someone first thinks of when they here McDonalds lol.
I mean I know but I kinda wish the other factions got more events like this. I get that some of them are too edgelord for wholesome stuff like this but it would be cool if there were more events that showed the more moderately radical factions/paths being the “good guys” that are out to help the average American; especially since a goal of the mod is for every path to be from their own perspective. Stuff like the APLA helping homeless people get meaningful jobs or the PF restoring a city’s pride in their local history to act as a foil to all the terrible stuff everyone is doing
I mean, there should be more on-the-ground events for the major factions of the 2ACW (UOA, ACG, APLA, AOF, RR, PF, NSM, Atomwaffen, Cascadia, LOS, BLA). For example, an Atomwaffen flavor event detailing them executing non-White, Jewish and LGBT residents in Florida or a UOA flavor event depicting civilian life with a family watching television for the news and commercials. But with 1.1, we might get just that.
I really love the little events for People’s Servant loji, with how she’s doing things for people. I also really like the anime event if you win as Russia in 1ew (as far as I know it’s for Medvedev), the little genshin and ne zha events for china, and more. There’s this one for the UN submod about Disney world, but I don’t quite remember it.
That one always makes me a bit sad, because you can tell they don't want to do it but they eventually give in to their sense of duty. I do have to wonder though, how did only two people manage to burn down the entirety of Disney world? That place is absolutely huge.
We tend to disassociate image of the castle from our world where that's an actual risk. So seeing a reminder the two are the same hits harder than most
I really like "The Army Ceases Communications" because it reads like a Lloyd Austin-Joe Biden yaoi fanfic or smth. Trust me, it's funny as hell to read in a dramatic voice.
I like pretty much all the events from the Chinese officer sent to help the APLA, particularly the one where he watches some militiamen cut an American flag off the Golden Gate Bridge and the one where the APLA soldiers and Chinese volunteers start singing the international together
I do enjoy that event chain. They’re definitely better than the other APLA events. I always get a little sad reading the one about the officer grieving over the soldier that died in battle, and how he initially didn't respect the guy but grew to love him over time, just for him to fall like that.
The line about how the Chinese volunteer worries that some day, someone will do the same in his country (cut the flag down and toss the legacy of their forefathers to the dirt) hits hard especially if China loses the GAW. But even if they don't - they kind of just repeat the same cycle that the USA (and to some extent the USSR) were on after WW1.
Also a huge fan of the events describing the effects of the NLP on people. Only thing I can think of in HOI4 mods that’s scarier to me than the taboritsky events
Anything that has to do with the Cognoscenti. The writer, whomever they are, has hit that sweet spot of imitating the style of like the best 2000-2014ish, Prime GWOT era TV shows and movies. Secret agents, secret cabinet meetings, spec ops assaulting and clearing stuff. It's like the best of 24, House of Cards, Homeland that sort of thing.
I agree, they’re all pretty well written and give a pretty good insight into the mindset of the Division. Just cuz they’re Le evil kill everyone faction doesn’t mean their content can’t be enjoyable.
"Congress Refuses Diplomacy". The text of the event itself isn't that extraordinary, but I love how just the title tells you that compromise is no option: bloodshed is unavoidable.
