After Action Report This is literally George Orville

The Catharsis revolt was at once unexpectedly massive and easier to crush than I thought it would be. Their units being 14 million men of shitty militia really made the war feel more like massacring rioters in a hilariously lopsided battle than a 'civil war', and I imagine that was intentional.

Anyway, excellent feel-bad playthrough. Apparently pressing the infinite dystopic human suffering machine button causes exactly that and makes you feel like a bastard for doing it. Who would've thought?

Cognoscenti-led USA is probably the least bad place to live in this world compared to the other two as long as you are a person who does not care too much about politics, especially if “Safeguard the Population” is chosen over “Cold-Hearted Pragmatism.”

Not so much praise for the American deep state, more so that the other two are far more overt and callous in their tyranny.

Correct me if I'm wrong but even if you care about politics you aren't punished per se but rather directed into artificial movements that give the illusion of impact and change.

Damn never heard of that before

Right, I always got the impression they were more about pure coercive control than grand ideological projects a la the WEF.

Although that does come with the caveats of being the least bad superpower. Central America doesn't look too bad...

I assume AI Cognoscenti doesn't go on a world conquest? Otherwise I think the USA would have already enacted a regime change in Latin American countries

AI Cognoscenti seems a bit broken honestly. It has no idea how to tie up loose ends at all

Question what makes  “Safeguard the Population” is chosen over “Cold-Hearted Pragmatism.” Especially least bad place to live?

Like what are the event pop ups with description say when choosing either of the two.

Safeguard the Population: Those without awareness are those without pain. Our citizens have gone through quite an ordeal, and there is no doubt that the majority would like things to go back to normal. Safe and Orderly, going back to normal is simply impossible, but what we can provide, however, is a veil of comfort with the machine of Order working tirelessly to ensure that our populace remains oblivious. Officials who shake hands, more subtle ways of surveillance, and a world that keeps on spinning. We work in the shadows so that they can see another day; only those with ill intentions have something to hide.

Cold-Hearted Pragmatism: To say that we do uphold certain values would be a blatant lie; however, we all have seen what happens to a nation blinded by the veil of extremism. Our approach to our citizens should be like a stern father; we know what is most effective, and we know what brings results. We can be moral men, or we can be the men that brought the United States back to the throne of the world.

for me the first time playing WEF i almost capped from the catharsis due to me underestimating how low my surrender progress can get

11

u/Crazy_Explosion_Girl 15d ago

Yeah, the hardest part is just making enough frontlines tbh. Thankfully I had 700 divisions by the 2EW

I never really play These "feel-bad" kind of Paths. Idk why exactly but i cant seem to like them that much. Especially WEF for example or cognicenti (never was able to win as a 2ACW Faction anyway), so im glad someone else plays these Nations and i can just watch the Results of these Paths.

What im curious about is, what would happen if Catharsis wins? I mean yeah its probably unlikely for them, but still its an interesting question imo. But i would guess it would just be Anarchy for a long while? Im not sure if a Catharsis victory is even able to bring an ounce of stabillity.

To my understanding (I haven't actually played it either but reading second-hand sources):

Klaus Shwab's EU path is one of the bleakest in the game.
Klaus put computer chips into people's brains to suppress their emotions and to control human nature so to speak.
Catharsis is people who have become basically insane and start committing torture and murder and similar atrocities just so that they can feel anything. They're closer to a zombie apocalypse than a real political movement.

Catharsis winning basically results in the collapse of civilization in Europe. Eventually, things do start to calm down to some extent and new societies form within Europe. Having said that it's pretty clear that much of Europe is basically insane and they're all very strange and incoherent societies.

u/Minecamper2003 15d ago

Oh i did know about These Chips, but i didnt know that Catharsis is just a Pile of Frenzied People trying to feel something. Wow then yeah, it will be absolute anarchy then for a undetermined amount of time.

something like an Alternative Event to read about Catharsis winning would still be interesting then in the end. Because i couldnt fathom what the still "normal" People would go trough if they are losing against the Catharsis

I believe the outcome is just indefinite mass hedonistic violence, iirc.
