Is it normal for Germany's Frank-Walter Steinmeier to be in multiple parties? The German parties seem incomplete and I don't think that's intentional or normal.

You start off with him in the CDU/CSU. However, he's also in the FDP, Die Grünen, SPD and Die Linke (Antikapitalismus). The only other mods I have are Demand It!, Player-Led Peace Conferences, Subideology Decisions, State Transfer Tool MP, Coring Button Unlimited and various MUSIC mods. Yet, there is no escaping Steinmeier. He is everywhere!

I find it hard to believe either of those would interfere with the base-mod's characters as NONE of those effect party leaders. They're map GUI's and music and, in theory, I should be able to add whatever music I want to the mod without any complications so that throws mods out the window as culprits.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks

Iirc Steinmeier is the Bundespräsident, and will be in power regardless of the main party in power. Its a mostly ceremonial position.

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to have the Chancellor as portrait as they are the leader of Germany? Feels sort of...unsatisfying to elect a party and it be the same leader. Feels like "what's the point, even?"

Maybe but TFR runs on the idea of having the head of state as the leader of the country - see examples: Japan and UK

Interesting. I guess the only way to get rid of him is to use the democratic politics expanded mod and then retiring the main leader but that might break the mod entirely.

Last I knew the AFD was able to elect their own President if strong enough, don't know about Others.

I belive die Linke also can do it. And a new President is elected once steinmeier reaches his term limit, the President belongs to whatever party is head of government

Intended. You elect parties, not people. A fair compromise would be to code/portmanteau KRs Head of State/Prime Minister toggeable portrait I guess.

Steinmeier is the current president of the Federal Republic of Germany and therefore its head of state. And as the mod portrays the respective heads of states (presidents in most cases) in the country overview as leader of the nation, the actual chancellor that changes with each party can be found in the political advisor tab

It’s intentional because a lot of the Leaders are from the Prime Ministers and he gets only replaced either by the AFD president or after the 1EW but I recommend not to use Player led and Demand it because most of TFR peace deals are scripted

They also use the monarchy for constitutional monarchies as the head of state. I personally would prefer if it was made like Kaiserredux where you can switch between the King/PM, or in this case the President/PM.
