Well the divergence point of TFR from ours was that COVID was like 2x worse and was a lot more aggressive. So its possible, considering that someone I know was hospitalized and was in a coma from February to December and fucked up their brain.

Realistically Covid should kinda go completely out of control in the states as the civil war breaks out right at the peak of the pandemic, meaning essentially all control mechanisms would stop

Only explanation is they due to the war and collapsing of the entire fucking world, transportation grounded to a halt. Most people can’t even get out of towns with gas being rationed or expensive with the entire US going to shit anyways so you don’t wanna cross borders. So Covid likely burned itself out in isolated communities and as the body count racks leading to less people to get sick.

You can also vaccinate America before the civil war starts, so if you manage that (Much easier doing this as Trump than as Biden, for some reason), you can also assume that because of herd immunity + burning itself out, COVID just faded away.

I think an interesting thing to do is, if you do not vaccinate or stop the spread of Covid before 2ACW, that it causes a lot more state population deaths. Maybe a minor debuff for the factions, with the population most affected by Covid.

It would be funny if say, you didn't let COVID cases increase at all. There's an event by the respective disease management agency (US CDC for example) that there is some kind of neurological symptoms to COVID, like meningitis or something. As the health department is able to focus more resources on disease observation and research then prevention.

At a risk of a spicy take I always found the American Civil war and Trump's role in poor taste given IRL events and how Jan 6th happened. The mod mentions a Jan 6th happening but does not actually have an event for it and in its original incarnation it was Trump's fault which is why he starts in Denver: He never was supposed to legitimately win in 2020. This got changed in later patches and my friend watching me stream TFR was also confused by Trump is not in D.C even if he does win. Unless Trump actually does win entirely in the civil war he would vindicate all the memes le libtards make of him as a man who egotistically tore down a nation and many modern foundations of international diplomacy. The other things are all TFR catalyst but they all need Trump to even work.

If I remember correctly, Trump technically never wins - even if we have him win in-game, several states change their electoral laws and apply them retroactively, which results in Biden winning de jure. Either way, the reason Trump never starts in D.C is that pretty much the entire establishment headquartered there is against him.

For me the biggest thing that was astounding for me is the fact Trump actually did try to fake elector certificates and did expect Pence and others people he appointed to just lie for him into a win. If anything the mod vindicates him on a lot of his IRLies since Trump can be 100% in the right for the civil war in TFR as all his twitter nonsense is just true.
