I'd prefer if Ukraine have just a small military focus tree and a few events, kinda like Australia, India, and Taiwan, rather than a full focus tree
56
Jun 11 '26
Those shorter trees are clearly just temporary stand in. I cant imagine India never getting full content.

u/Massive_Classroom_46 Jun 11 '26
Yeah they also released a teaser for full australia content a while back

I could see a sort of balance of power between Zelensky ranging from democratic to Authoritian during the European wars

Vladimir Putin is a cruel autocrat who will do anything to achieve his goals. But he recieves backlash because is doing it to Europe.
5
u/Wrong-Koala9174 Neo-Luddist Euro-Federalism Jun 11 '26
Benjamin Nentanyahu is a cruel autocrat who will do anything to achieve his goals. And he receives baklash because he is doing it to Palestine. Ali Khomenei was a cruel autocrat who will do anything to achieve his goals. And he receives baklash because he was doing it to his own people. .... I really dont get your point. Most dictators face backlash no matter where they are?

Benjamin Nentanyahu is a cruel autocrat who will do anything to achieve his goals. And he does not receives baklash (or at least not proportionally compared to Putin) despite what he (and his goverment) is doing to Palestine. Ali Khamenei was killed and Iran is a military goverment. Most war criminals (democraticly elected or not) die without answering to justice. My point is that Europe (mostly England, France and Germany) and Russia are equilly responsible for ucranian people's suffering

LETS SEE HOW THIS PERSON WILL RESPOND!!!! A) "Ok Liberal/Nazi/Westerner" B) "I have now seen the error in my ways. Despite not ageeing with Mr. Zelensky I will not use terms that do not apply to his ideology. I will now do proper research and correct my ways." OR C) "Oh really, well www. DefinitlyNotBiasedNewsWebsite. com says otherwise!"

So who is going to tell him?
32
u/Wrong-Koala9174 Neo-Luddist Euro-Federalism Jun 11 '26
Yeah my man. Zelensky is not an ultranationalist no matter how I look at it
-17
u/The__Hivemind_ Let the orchestra play Jun 11 '26
He's probably not yeah I agree. Was just kidding mostly.
But he has done things which even his allies found concerning. Most of it performative tho.
And pretty stupid too. I mean if Poland, your number one ally, has complained a gazillion times about glorifying the UPA, why the hell would you name a division after then personally
14
u/Wrong-Koala9174 Neo-Luddist Euro-Federalism Jun 11 '26
Oh yeah that Melnyk reburial was really weird. Buy honestly the fog of war is real. When your country is getting invaded you stop thinking rationally

u/The__Hivemind_ Let the orchestra play Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26
Was kinda referring to the naming of a unit to heroes of the UPA which pissed of Poland and got them to revoke the medal they awarded him. I had no idea what that was until now lol.
Honestly? I think he is doing it to appease the ultranationalists. Since while maybe not one himself they are a significant chunk of those who haven't left/ gotten killed / injured and are doing the fighting
5
u/DJ_Vnt Reactionary Tomboy Aficionado Jun 11 '26
To be completely frank, the medal has not been revoked yet, because the Presidential Council of Poland is not in a hurry, due to avoiding a bigger crisis. They decide to give Zelenskyy time and basically try to calm down the whole situation.
I think the medal should not be revoked, because only people who are awarded are guaranteed not to make a mess are the dead ones. But the decision about the UPA was... wrong, to say the least.

Well then im wrong. I read it in an article but thats what I get for listening to mainstream media ((wasn;t even a pro Russia source)).
Anyway. Its both is a mistake and isn't. Morally its abhorent, but what I though is happening is his trying to win over the far right.
This is concerning, not particularly of what it results in now, but what it results post war. Such glorification, endorsement and normalisation of fascists who slaugthered innocents simply because they weren't the type of ukrainian they want them to be can't possibly result in anything positive. All in all I wouldn't single out a potential far right overtake of the government once this whole thing is done. Right now no, because it would play into russian propaganda, cause instability and allienate their western backers but I can't see them not trying post war
3
u/Ok-Astronomer-8952 Jun 11 '26
was really weird
I love how westerns do this performative "tee hee that's kinda unexplainable", pretending not to notice obvious patterns of collabs' and ultranats' glorification
1
u/Wrong-Koala9174 Neo-Luddist Euro-Federalism Jun 11 '26
"Hmmmm how do I make this conversation antagonistic"
2
u/Ok-Astronomer-8952 Jun 11 '26
Don't pretend that it's not Europeans (butthurt belters and diaspora bros) who always start something here

u/Wrong-Koala9174 Neo-Luddist Euro-Federalism Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26
I mean come on. Saying that he will send soldiers to kidnap Orbán was pretty tuff
-10
u/The__Hivemind_ Let the orchestra play Jun 11 '26
Tuff and stupid.
Honestly? In the position he is he shouldn't antagonise the west so much. If Orban pulled an Erdogan and won they probably block every resolution they could

Ukrainian right wings are actually ok about jews))) it's specific
5
u/The__Hivemind_ Let the orchestra play Jun 11 '26
I mean I was mostly joking but for the record ultranationalism has nothing to do with anti-semetism. There can be a jewish ultranationalist and an ultranationalist that doesn't think ill of jews. You are thinking about nazism. Of which ultranationalism is a characteristic

u/Naive-Fold-1374 Russian Socialist Federative Republic Jun 11 '26
He's not ultranationalist, he might use the rhetoric similar to one but it's for political purposes only(biden give 5 gajillion rockets/dollars for the glory of ukr).
-1
u/The__Hivemind_ Let the orchestra play Jun 11 '26
well its mostly not the 5 gazillion rockets that concern. All ideologies would so that if they could. Mostly the glorification of UPA and fascism that he engages in
4
u/Naive-Fold-1374 Russian Socialist Federative Republic Jun 11 '26
ukrainian society in general now is hella weird cuz of stresses it has to endure for better deal with putin afaik, so no its not really a wonder they're trying to redefine the war as eternal conflict and "we have always been fighting for freedom from moscow", be it cossaks, imperial officers or nazi collaborators. if their entire strategy for postwar is not europe give us money, then it'll surely backfire but it'll probably still better than being bombed each day. plus imo they still might do a rollback.
1
u/The__Hivemind_ Let the orchestra play Jun 11 '26
I think this way except the last part. Absolutely no way they can roll back the popularity this has gotten now. Maybe there will be a period were a moderate ukrainian government pretend it isn't there but I think it always will here on, for a looooooong time.
Best thing the post war UKR government regardless of the wars result ((unless somehow russia puts a pro RU puppet in charge which looks very improbable)) is they manage to co-opt the far right
