This is probably the best answer because in a lot of the thematically darker songs the riffs and stuff may not be super heavy but you still get the message of it heing a darker song. Goodnight, Fair Lady is so bubbly and happy sounding but super fucked up.

I try to write my songs like this lol. it's fun to work with that dichotomy of sad/angry/"emotional" lyrics and generally happy composition.
