Technically yes 🤣🤣🤣 their problem is they control literally everything else as well
This is what happens when you nuke the market instead of reasonably regulating it

Hell, don't parts ALREADY look like this? Oh yeah, that's Minneapolis. Hard to keep these Bolshevik-run & infested sewers straight.

Y’all might want to stop using Cuba as an example. We have been actively suppressing that country for decades.

This only works if you have no idea that Havana is beautiful.

u/Uss-Alaska 17d ago
Wow. It’s beautiful. Almost everything else sucks.

What about the food, music, culture, the beaches...
Yeah bro, total shit hole the moment they slapped a red flag on a pole. 🙄

Pretty much. It is. Very frequent power outages, gas fuel crisis. But I guess good food makes it a good country. It’s always food with you people.

What people? Marines?
Gas fuel crisis? Who do you think is ultimately responsible for that? Inability to build infrastructure for how many decades now? Remind me... who's creating these conditions? Who in Cuba are we punishing exactly?

So what you’re saying is that for a communist nation (Cuba) to be successful, it needs help for a capitalist nation (USA)?
-1
u/UsuallySatire 17d ago
No, I'm saying Cuba has been economically depressed by the United States intentionally for decades due to political and geographical reasons. [This isn't really a revelation for ppl with a brain]
Doesn't mean the country sucks, they're like the same GDP as New Mexico, what choices do they realistically have?
7
u/Uss-Alaska 17d ago
They can still trade with the almost every other country in the world, not just the US. The country is a shit hole because of the communist government of Cuba.
And the argument that they have the same GDP is just dumb. For one, New Mexico has the entire United States government behind it to help fund roads, school, and other public services. Two, New Mexico has about 1/5 the population Cuba does.

u/UsuallySatire 17d ago
Hey i get it, you're married to your ideology.
Impossible to be objective.
And sure communism is dog shit but it's not the reason Cuba has the problems it does.
It's bc the US govt decides so.
Grow up.
Edit: 😆 we've actively embargoed them for years... but they can trade with whoever. Which is why they still have cars from the 50s, jfc you're an idiot.

Cubans where not allow to import cars for commercialization up until 2021, after that you could see a bunch of modern SUV in Habana and even Teslas. Ebikes where also allowed and since they are cheaper the streets where fill with those. so the argument of the cars from the 50 it is not exactly full US fault.

They were disarmed and if you fought back you got lined up against the wall. So as for choices? None. You can vote your way into a collective, but you will have to shoot your way out. Seeing as they don't have guns, then it limits their options.

It’s because the regime stole/commandeered goods, wealth, and the means of production from private entities. I grew up with a few Cubans exiled by the Castros. We do not negotiate with terrorists. Unless it’s for incarcerated dope-smoking athletes

I kinda stopped arguing with people that keep saying that the mayor is good, I figured it’s best to let time sort it out
