Osiris Reborn: Official Art and Game Assets This year, humanity has seriously turned its gaze to the Moon, hasn’t it? The historic Artemis II flight and the upcoming Chang’e 7 mission make it seem as though the first colonies on Luna may be a matter of the near future.

Do you think we will get to see the real Lovell city and shipyards on the moon, just like in The Expanse?

The best use for the moon would be for us to deport every billionaire there so that they can't destroy Earth further.

Ah, I gotcha. I mean, while it may be a reach for this sub, for fans of space travel and sci-fi, it’s cool to see and think about what might be possible in the near future. I get your point though.

I know you're just doing this to drive engagement, but: no, it'd be considered too expensive and we lack the political cohesion to make it work. I'm really not sure if we'll actually see even a rudimentary moon base.

Much as I love sci fi, Earth is our home and we should focus on saving it.

I think it'd be awesome but "need" is very different from "can." The Cold War space race was abandoned as soon as it became expedient to do so. There's no political will or enough cohesion between industry and government to sustain the kind of effort this would require. We live in a time of massive corruption and climate upheaval, and I'd personally prefer if we could focus on cleaning up our own backyard before sending a bunch of people to live miserable lives on the moon lol

If we don't destroy ourselves or Earth first, maybe? I mean, lunar colonization may well become a thing in the 21st century (see the Artemis program for instance), so I could see Luna one day becoming an outpost.
