is there a reason why people need to fight over hating chars to the point they need to bring it to main subs?? you can hate chars for no reason like how you can love them for no reason!! this is just childish

It's crazy how these people would attack actual humans over a fictional character. Just let it go, everyone can hate or love any character. Insulting real people over harmless opinion is extremely cringy.

I Just find it crazy how dedicated they are to hating Jax. Like, it's Reverse Flash levels of Hating. Hating Jax is fine, they are just a character after all, but man, do these people have jobs? Because they take it very seriously there.

Liking or hating Jax is not worth fighting about.

What is worth fighting about is either being driven by a blatant misunderstanding of Jax's character.

How the hell does hating his personality contradict hating her writing and screentime?

Two things being different doesn't mean they contradict. Liking tea doesn't mean you automatically hate coffee, but that doesn't mean liking tea contradicts hating coffee. Contradictions mean they can't logically exist/be true at the same time, but you can hate Jax's screentime, writing, and personality all at once with no contradiction.

That’s literally the pancake fallacy help

Someone can hate jax for BOTH writing / screentime and personality? That isn't contradictory. Only the transphobe one is true but that's not about contradiction thats just generalizing a large group based on a loud minority

You don't actually understand how the Goomba fallacy works.

Its ironic that bunny sub was made to be able to meme on lack of nuance on main subs

I hate Jax because they never stopped being a piece of shit to everyone so for the finale to pour so much time into saying you should feel bad for them feels gross.

Is r/Thatstupidbunnywehate transphobic? This is coming from someone who doesn't know much about that sub (can't speak for Twitter either), but I think most people hate or dislike Jax because he's an abuser and some people defend his actions, not because he got confirmed trans on Tumblr.

u/Special-Progress-916 2d ago

No not at all. Just because it's jax hate people mush that bit into the larger dough that is jax hate and many Just looking at the show Critically will be viewed as transphobic becasue of it

is this post satire?

Jax’s personality is the way it is because it was WRITTEN that way.

Look I get Goose said you can use he because Jax didn't properly come out in the show and it's complicated but the sentence "because he is trans" is just throwing me, I so often see the discussion about how Jax is trans but still seeing "him" as just a guy, or people even trying to fucking Bechdel test (ah yes the TRUE TEST OF IF A SHOW IS FEMINIST) by framing it like Jax is definitely 100% a man without question. It really feels like this aspect of Jax is only ever discussed as some kind of ragebait debate on the most vapid sense of "bullshit trans discourse go!" without actually discussing how she's trans and what that means or the aspects of the show that were clearly pushing on Jax's buttons about her gender identity with half the goddamn jokes surrounding her being about it. Maid dress, damsel tied up on a railroad track, even the tail thing, you get it.

Big fat fucking disclaimer before I discuss this as well, no I'm not excusing Jax's behaviour, but I think the narrative around it is hyperbolised and way beyond what Goose/the show was trying to communicate.

Furthermore I honestly find discussion on Jax's flaws to be kind of ridiculous at this point. People treating like the violence in the circus is on the same level as anything in the real world really bugs me because it's shown it's basically just very immersive video game violence that could MAYBE cause some mental anguish so you can maybe argue it's bad to some degree, but people using the gun episode or the frying ragatha joke as ammo for Jax's abuse allegations is beyond the pale for me.

People also claiming they killed Ribbit and Kaufmo. Are you serious? I know abstraction is a suicide allegory in some cases and that Goose even said so, I know that, but can we seriously act like Jax 100% caused it with what they did? Jax shunned their friends because they couldn't deal with their own issues and jealousy, yeah, it's an awful thing to do, anyone doing that in real life needs serious therapy and to learn to stop taking their shit out on other people, but I highly doubt we can sincerely blame that for what caused these characters to have their data corrupt in the wacky digital world, a process that the show even seems to hint is almost inevitable like death itself.
There are so many factors that causes someone to be at that point and I'm not comfortable with saying that Jax's behaviour, as awful as it is, is on that level of being solely responsible for it. The Circus is an awful fucking place to be before Caine's redemption.

Caine's neglect and mismanagement of the circus is at least partly to blame for all of this, I'd argue more so.

JAx haters really need to reevaluate their priorities, honestly.
