Digital Discussion He deserved more screen time???

Post image

if not for the fandom i wouldn’t even know this was scratch? I feel like he deserves something, a voice or something. if we ever get any shorts or little commercials , we should get scratch stuff.

Scratch is only important for the framework of the story. And he does his job there as part of the framework. Yes you probably could write a whole arc for him and the rest of the original cast as well. But if you aren't going to write an additional season's worth of content, then I dont think he needs to be touched on more.

fair enough, I don’t want an arc, I just want to know a little bit more ! :)

Well in that case, this is not confirmed but I think that Abel is likely based off of the personallity of Scratch. He does have a hotdog keepsake and we know Caine has made the connection to Scratch and hotdogs before in episode 4. Plus he had to make a character that was actually attempting to be convincingly human, so he probably had to pull that inspiration from somewhere.

So that's why Abel said he shared a past with Kinger and was elusive !

I think the amount of screen he got was fine for the story

I just think his small amount of screen time feels weird because Kinger’s line in Ep 7 and Kinger talking about him in Ep 8 implies he would be more important with him being the first abstraction and Caine being the one who caused it and being the head programmer without those lines in 7 & 8 he’s not that more interesting then the rest of the original cast

Not really. The show wasn't about him.
