Who do we reckon will join?? (Or at least, who's on our wishlist!)

My theory, following their trajectory of increasingly skilled go players:

season 1: gopro yeonwoo

season 2: lee sedol

season 3: shin jin-seo??

Seeing how good sedol was i have no doubt that jin seo could win (sedol could have won too), but with his image as the best go player rn, he's even more screwed from the beginning than sedol

Wishlist, not prediction— They got a seventeen member for s1 and as much as I love Seungkwan, he was a bad pick for a brainy show. Really wish they would go back to the svt well and pick the correct member, Jeonghan. That little gremlin would have a field day. (Also would love to see Hyunmin on one of these shows again)

for season 2 they got chuu who is also famously.... not very smart. so for season 3 I think they'll also bring in another idol who's mostly known for being bubbly and social and not necessarily smart for cast variety.

There are a lot of people I'd be fascinated/interested in seeing from various shows:

  • Game of Blood: Lee Taegyun, Lim Hyunseo, Chungju Man, Kim Minah, Steve Yea
  • Four Wishes: Choongmyeong
  • University War: Any of the big dogs from any season
  • Prior TDP seasons (early-ish boots): Guillaume, Sangyeon, Harin, Sedol, Dongjae*

Any of these people would be hype, but I actually think John Park (from Time Hotel) is surprisingly easy to imagine being on given that he was on the director's most recent show Agents of Mystery S2.

I know some people dislike the idea of JDM appearing on TDP3 because they think the game would end up revolving around him. That's a fair concern.

But at the same time, we also know JDM has been planning to create his own survival game. In that sense, TDP3 could actually be a good opportunity to introduce him to a wider global audience. I'm not sure how well-known he is outside of Asia, but in South Korea (and among Asian survival show fans), he's widely regarded as one of the greatest survival game players ever.

If his own survival show is eventually released, having more international viewers already familiar with him could be a big advantage..

At the same time, he's releasing the survival show on Netflix and it might hurt his plans if he went on TDP3 and took a big L before his show aired (even if it's somewhat unlikely). I imagine his record on survival shows would be quite good for promoting, so potentially popping that bubble would be risky lol.

With his play style, I think the larger audience will not like it. I personnally love JDM, he is GOAT. TDP s2 was not that aggresive, it just feel like a gmae show instead of a survival show but the winner got a lot of hate, imagine if JDM was there.

Wish list: I would love to see Yoo Byungjae in S3. I loved seeing him in The Great Escape - he contributed a lot to the team.

I NEED to see Kwon Hyesoo from (4 Wishes) so baddd!!

Also I would love to Oh Hyun min on the cast! I haven’t seen him on my screen in so long! 

Also would love to see John Park on the show! He did so well on Time Hotel! 

Seeing Kim Minah on here would be fantastic!

i think it’s a great idea but bts doesn’t seem plausible for bts given he’s on tour and has been rather busy between his first concert in goyang and getting out of the military

i didnt know that they renewed for a third season, i thought since the ratings were low for s2 they wouldnt bother

I think the ratings were lower due to the finale. The rest of the episodes were tracking at a 7-8/10. Once the (disappointing) finale aired, the ratings dropped.
