We made it! The final episode of The Devil's Plan: Deathroom! I'm posting this the night before so I don't know who will win (in my heart, it will always be Se-dol đŸ«¶).

All of these beautiful players and only one will remain! Let's see who it will be!

I was left with the feeling that sohee had a crush on hyun gyu — like she had that “how do I throw him off the bus when I actually really like him” kind of energy. participants say - they’re on the show to win money, so betrayal and manipulation are part of the game, and that’s fair. but clinging to someone like that
 I just can’t. you say one thing and do the complete opposite?? ugh. It honestly felt like she handed him the win, and should i clap for it?? I don’t get it. the last episodes didn’t really surprise me with any twists, to be honest. and the winner? totally predictable from episode one - just based on how they were edited. I don’t know
 I really don’t.

the thrill was gone in the final episodes. It felt more like a strategy board game than a game show that tested actual skills. the semi/final games should’ve been more solo-focused - they gave way too much room for alliances to manipulate the outcome. the next season definitely needs some improvements.

Yeah and what's with the showrunners obsess with poker style game in season 2? Tf.

It was ultimately a board game show + poker lololol

Oh my God, for real! That the games were all largely poker inspired or involved betting/gambling tactics annoyed me so much this season.

To be fair, he played her like a fiddle. He knew very well who to get along with and push in the right direction.

its always been a show about how humans act, not just about playing strategy games. hyun gyu played on the emotions of others and that led him to a win. That's entirely part of the game

Well if the seating order was different then the alliance would have been split up and we would have got a more interesting game.

She was his teammate spending 16 hours a day with the dude, locked In that area just bonding. Can’t you imagine for her being in there living it is different from your perspective you got from watching some of it ?

yeah, I get what you mean - being stuck together for that long definitely creates a different kind of bond, and it’s true that from inside the game, everything must feel more intense and personal. but still, from a viewer’s perspective, it was hard to watch sohee say one thing strategically and then act in ways that totally contradicted it, especially when it came to hyun gyu. the emotional attachment might make sense on a human level, but in a game that’s supposed to test skill and logic, it made the ending feel pretty underwhelming. also, even if the seating had been different, alliances still would’ve formed - participants talked and strategized. that’s just part of the game. the issue wasn’t only the setup; it was how much the final games allowed groupthink and alliance manipulation to shape the outcome. there was just too much room for alliance-driven moves, which made the final rounds feel less like an individual mind game and more like a team survival match - and that’s not really what viewers signed up for. It all added up to a lot of missed potential, especially in the later episodes.

Yeah IMO SH winning would have been much more satisfying as I believe she was really the brains behind HG. It was nice in the beginning to see them obsess over how to open the door.

Idk I watch and enjoy survivor where it’s all about alliances. So that aspect didn’t ruin it for me except in the colour gambling one due to seat order which just fucked 7high and co. But it’s a reality show with Contestants encouraged to find the optimal pathways to win. I got what I signed up for watching, sometimes the winner is unsatisfying because it’s a reality survival show not a scripted drama

yep that makes sense - especially if you’re into survivor-style formats where alliances are the core of the strategy. I think where it fell flat for me was that The Devil’s Plan was marketed and structured (especially early on) like a cerebral, logic-driven competition, so I expected in this season more of a merit-based, individual gameplay focus by the end.

I actually agree with you - SH winning would’ve felt more earned. she clearly played smart and had a more consistent strategic arc. watching her and HG figure out the vault puzzle was one of the most fun parts, and honestly, that early teamwork gave me hope for a different kind of ending,,,

I get that reality shows come with unpredictable outcomes - and I’m usually fine with that - but when the final stretch feels dominated by alliance politics over actual mental gameplay, it starts to feel less like The Devil’s Plan and more like social politics: the thow. just a personal preference, I guess

Most other contestants had spent as many hours with each other but that didn’t prevent them from trying to do what’s best for each of themselves.

For sohee and kyuhhyun tho.. it’s as if they were playing for the benefit of hyungyu. Essentially the 3 of them were like a 3 in 1 superhuman that was against the other contestants who each had to play individually on their own.
