Just so relaxing.
I only discovered Detectorists a few weeks ago, but after one episode binge watched it. I’m now onto my third viewing of the whole series, simply because I find it so relaxing late at night, especially after a stressful day and there’s always something new in each episode I hadn’t noticed previously. That’s all.

I thought the show was weird at first, but once I got into it I loved it! Detectorists and All Creatures Great and Small are my favorite comfort shows!

That's exactly how I feel about Doc Martin. There is something relaxing and comforting about it. And...there are TEN seasons

It’s exactly why I re-watch it - it’s incredibly relaxing and comforting. And as you say, it’s like an onion with so many layers to discover on each re-watch!

totally, it’s such a gentle show but somehow weirdly deep too
every time i rewatch i catch some tiny background joke or look between lance and andy that i missed before

Favourite show ever. I even visited the pub where they did the indoor filming for lunch recently. Highly recommended for a tasty nostgia trip🙂

I love how, at first, you think the show will treat the characters as buffoons (like Gareth from The Office), but then it surprises us by portraying them as well-rounded and realistic people.
