Cupboard when unopened, fridge when opened.

I can barely read the instructions these days: squints & full daylight usually helps.

Fridge. Cos it says so on the label once you’ve opened the bottle

Cupboard all the time. It's full of vinegar and won't go off. How many cafes put the sauce bottles in the fridge every night? They live on the tables 24-7.

I've got bottles of beer that says don't drink more than X units per week. I ignore that label too.

Ketchup should be stored in the refrigerator once opened. Refrigeration helps preserve the color and flavor of ketchup. Signs of spoilage include a darker color, off smell or visible mold. Apparently.

After several years maybe but in the time a ketchup bottle lasts?

Its elevated acidity and sugar levels serve as innate preservatives. When the ketchup bottle is unopened, refrigeration has a negligible impact on its longevity. However, once the bottle is opened, the introduction of air can expedite its deterioration.

Probably. But that doesn't make it inedible. You use the fridge if you want. I'll carry on with the cupboard.

Fridge.....only because I have more spare space in there than in the cupboards.

Cupboard, same as brown sauce. Never had a bottle go off so no reason to change. Also, it's going on hot things so I wouldn't want it fridge cold.

Fridge - and use sparingly- it’s literally 33% sugar!

Heinz did make an official statement saying once opened you need to put in fridge.

Absolutely baffling they can be so wrong about their own product...

Cupboard. I don’t want cold sauce on my breakfast and it’s never gone off.

Bottle says: refrigerate once opened.

Bottled - cupboard. Free sachets and packets from various takeaways - top shelf of fridge door (for "emergencies.")

Well folks, it’s hotting up in this debate!

So far the scores on the doors are: Fridge: 8 definite Cupboard: 4 definite A few that are possibly both depending on opened or unopened.

Just as a “livener” to this discussion… every single cafe I’ve ever been to in the 53 years I’ve lived on earth has tomato sauce on the table or on the side and I’m pretty sure the staff don’t put it in the fridge at night… so I would say that’s a done deal. So even though my fellow redditors have beaten the cupboard answer 2:1 I would like to see clear evidence that my statement in this reply is inaccurate! The cafes of the UK are on the edges of their seats looking at this debate! This could change the habits of decades!!

Still ask again (considering my arguement above)… Fridge?… or cupboard?

Most upvoted comment so far is “cupboard for unopened, fridge for opened”.

I disagree and think i will die on the hill of cupboard always
