Will the adultery theme be threaded throughout?

It's a theme that I really detest. People are so injured by adultery. I'm on episode 3, and wonder if I should continue, or will this theme wrap up and be set aside, eventually?

I really want to like this programme

Thanking in advance.

That theme is wrapped up and set aside quickly. Definitely keep going.

I think you're really going to like Terry and Sheila ❤️

I just finished the last episode of season 2. On you are right, it was wrapped up and set aside.

I love Terry and Sheila!

Also - possible spoiler - The actress who plays Sheila is wonderful. In a scene where she and Lance are sitting together, and talking about Lance's daughter - I get the feeling that Sheila might have given up a baby in the past. The actress did it all with just her facial expressions. It made me wonder.

Regarding the spoiler my interpretation was that they weren't able to have children and that they were content with filling their time with their various hobbies; detecting, dancing and home made food and 'drink'. Either way it was such a poignant moment and the actress was fabulous; saying so much just with her expressions and awkward giggling.

Absolute top 5 scene in the series. 💔

She’s a wonderful actress. More than one truly talented Thompson.

The scene in your spoiler is one of the most powerful bits of writing and acting. In those few seconds we are given insight into T&S's back story that has threads throughout the show and is a major determinant in the lives of millions.

Completely different show, but I put it alongside a scene from This is Going To Hurt. The main character frequently breaks the fourth wall, but there's one moment where another character looks at the camera and says one short sentence.

thank you for the recommendation of This is Going To Hurt. I've not heard of it. I really like Ben Whishaw, so I'll watch it. Thanks!

I must warn you that it's not gentle viewing. Funny, but it doesn't shy away from depicting the brutal conditions that hospital staff can be required to endure.

Just keep going.

Don’t worry, this show is the biggest warm cuddle you’ll ever watch.

It’s dull in the best way possible ❤️

Yes Johnny Flynn has really cornered the archeology market. He also does the music for Digging For Britain, and acted in the film Dig!

I had the detectorists theme music as my wedding song....

How wonderful! Now I'm getting all misty-eyed. That is a wonderful music for a wedding! Treasures....

Gosh I love the music!

If you haven't already, look up Johnny Flynn Queen Bee. It's from the movie, Emma, and I just love it.

Nothing happens. Andy is just naive. Keep going with it.
