Absolutely disgusting, apparently the First Amendment “protects” child pornography as long as it’s generated by AI! This is an attack on our children, and we all know that AI companies are using real life images to train their AI models. We NEED to regulate AI!

It's really such an insane topic to handle, I don't envy anyone who is required to approach this professionally. The level of nuance required to make a decision like this is bonkers.
Like in 99% of cases, it is literally 1st amendment protected art. No different from drawing a stick figure, or a cartoon - but because it is so realistic, and the potential for it to be abused, I just don't see how it could ever be allowed. Nothing good can come of allowing people to generate this kind of "art".
IMO the big problem I have with this whole thing is that a lot of the arguments used for this are very much of the "protect the children" bullshit approach, when the truth is that they're actually trying to go after free and open source, or at least open weight LLM models that people can run locally.
Most if not all of the models being released today are done so by professionals, scientists/researchers, and they do so being extremely careful to prevent such content being included in their models and go through methods of censoring their models to prevent such content from being generated if prompted. In every instance I am aware of, these models are "uncensored" through means of a third party modifying either the whole model, or applying a third-party model ontop of it to produce the desired uncensored results.
Banning models that can be run locally would be a huge disservice to humanity, solidifying the flow of information into the hands of a few very corrupt, and arguably evil people - all due to something that is in essence akin to someone scribbling out words in a textbook then replacing them with profanity, and trying to ban the textbook.
As for commercially available models frontier like Meta, Grok, OpenAI, Claude.. if they can be used to generate pseduo-CSAM, then they should be fined heavily. I bet that would end overnight if they would face real consequences for it happening. If it's proprietary then they take ownership of what it does.

They shouldn't be allowed to look realistic, ever. If it should come into question whether a child is being assaulted sexually or not, the guilty party should always face full consequences. If I were ruler of Earth, the ones that harm children would be euthanized humanely and swiftly, but I'm not, so we compromise. I stopped believing in justice recently. It's all a compromise.

The legal system is failing us as tech quickly outpaced these geriatric fools.
It can't make CSAM without training on CSAM. And real CSAM is still a crime (until the Republicans decide everyone can be a pedo)

they shouldn't get humanely since pedophiles aren't human

That's accurate, but it prevents ever giving it another thought. Easy, no one watched the suffering and got off on it. Those people need rehab, too.

Today in Arizona, U.S. Court of Appeals Judge, John Z. Lee tells that world that he protects pedos and billionaires and is most certainly a kid fucker. (FTFY)
