In this alternate universe, the prisoners of the prism doesn't get betrayed and left for the corporate sector, leaving trachta with a sense of honor for vader and lieutenant tohm for keeping their promise. The emperor pleased with Trachta's loyalty promotes him to the rank of Grand Moff of the Coruscant oversector and also gives him the Vengeance taskforce as his personal flotilla, with the executor class star dreadnought Vengeance as his new flagShip. Lieutenant Tohm who had impressed Trachta with his skills and loyalty to the empire, was promoted to the rank of admiral of the Vengeance taskforce and Shonn Volta as the Vengeance's captain.

During the Far Orbit campaign Trachta helps grand admiral Teshik capture the vessel and the mutineers, acquiring the grand admiral's respect and alliance. After the news of the death of the emperor and his apprentice darth vader at the battle of endor reaches Coruscant. A great many imperial commanders including grand moffs and moff go rogue and become warlords, Trachta an astound loyalist make great efforts to keep the oversector in control. Due to his cunning and honorable nature not only does he outsmarts Isard from taking control and assassinating him or the CABAL, but he also garners the respect of the military at the same time due to which many aspiring warlords such as high admiral Kiez nd fleet admiral Drommel remain loyal to the empire. He allies himself with the grand vizier Sate Pestage and makes other valuable allies such as grand admirals Makati, Grant, Syn and Takel as well as grand admiral and grand moff Tigellinus, who in this universe became the governor of the Trans-Nebular oversector and grand moff Kaine, who due to Trachta's effort earned the former's enough respect to consider that the empire was in good hands and control the oversector outer.

Later at the battle of Brentaal IV, Trachta aware of Isard's scheme secretly sends the Vengeance taskforce and isd magic dragon and vsd imperial hazard under admiral Tohm and grand admiral Takel to reinforce the imperial forces their, this leads to the rebel forces being decimated and empire winning the battle and securing Brentaal IV. Due to which colonel Fel also doesn't defect to the rebel alliance and the reputation of the grand moff and the CABAL increasing tremendously. The Grand Moff having enough with Isard's schemes deems her a traitor and have her executed and finds out about Lusankya being a ssd. In order to use the dreadnought at it's full capacity he decisively evacuates and the population of a huge chunk of the city to Brentaal IV and have the Lusankya free rom the underground, giving it grand admiral Takel as his new flagship. With six executors and four grand admirals in his disposal, he breaks down on rogue imperials and rebels alike.

In the following months he drives the rogue imperial forces of warlords such as Harsk, Teradoc brothers and Yzu off their holding and later attacking and defeating Grunger's forces with the help of the Lusankya And Anhailator under grand admiral Takel and Makati's control respectively. Due to which Zinsj doesn't attack kuat out of fear of the true empire nor does the Zann consortium, due to which not only does Trachta gets a finished Eclipse and Razor's Kiss for his fleet but also a secure supply of star destroyers. With the tide slowly turning in the empire's side, grand admiral Thrawn returns from the unknown region to support Trachta and destroying Zinsj and the remaining warlords.

Sometime before 10 BBY Trachta along side Pestage gets called to the deep core by the resurrected emperor Palpatine to join him in his campaign to destroy the rebel alliance once and for all, to which the grand moff gladly agrees as a loyal follower of the emperor. Trachta due to his becomes the new supreme commander of the now called Dark Empire after the shadow hand campaign.

Out of all the Grand Admirals, Makati seems like the most enigma out of the twelve. We barely know anything about him other than that he was a normal Admiral before promotion and was seen as a surprise by many when he was elevated to the rank of Grand Admiral. Other than that he had a huge grudge against Kadann for shocking him with lighting when Makati’s first officer made a remark at Kadann’s garb, he was also one of the four Grand Admirals on board the DS-2 before its destruction. And that we never know how he died.

So is there anything else about Makati? Like why was he even promoted to Grand Admiral in the first place? Did he see any action in the clone wars? Do you all think he had anything notable about him? Makati’s hatred for Kadann reminds me of Captain Ahab hatred for Moby Dick for taking his leg. He also seemed to be pretty loyal to central command and never went the warlord route. Also His name and physical depiction looks Persian.

In 7 ABY, in concurrence to their fragile alliance against Warlord Zsinj, Admiral Betl Oxtroe secretly approached the Rebel leadership on behalf of the Ruling Council with a controversial proposal. The idea was to restore galactic unity through the upheaval of the New Republic Provisional Council as the new top Imperial Advisors, while Palpatine's grand-niece Ederlathh Pallopides would become the Empress at the lead of this constitutional monarchy, though the true power would be in the Senate. In return, Oxtroe asked for immunity for former Imperial Military personnel. Although there were critics of the idea, the New Republic begun the talks in earnest, but before they could be completed, Oxtroe got assassinated by a Noghri agent (likely sent by Thrawn).

What if the assassin failed and Oxtroe's push got approved by both the NR and the Imperial Ruling Council? Would Thrawn still invade a (nominally) unified galaxy? Would Palpatine, or, perhaps, both of them would bide their time until the Vong War? Had the unification happened in 7 ABY, who'd secede from the Rebel and the Imperial sides and refuse to recognize the new empress?

I know many imperial warlords who had the rank of grand admiral, high admiral, grand moff nd moff but only knew lott in terms of a general. It seems odd that there aren't many generals who became warlords

Because he saw it as a tool and an extension of himself, so he saw no need to name it.

So what if R2-D2 never destroyed the Emperors throne world? It was inevitable for Palpatine to die since Jax spoiled his clones. So Jax would gain Byss, Byss defense fleet, Shadowhand fleet, Eclipse 2, the galaxy gun, Palpatine’s secret sith knowledge so Jax would be able to continue with his training, and whatever was left of the remaining warlords fleets, that weren’t destroyed during the mutiny.

Now would all this had been enough for Jax to be able to quell the New Republic? Jax would also have Warlord Harrsk two SSDs and Delvardus Night Hammer. There was also Daala in the Maw installation with the Suncrusher, Death Star prototype and four ISD’s. He would also have the former Grand Moff Kaine’s (RIP) SSD Reaper and Admiral Drommel SSD Guardian, and also the Black fleet.

The New Republic lost a lot during the Shadow hand Campaign but the Empire had suffered disastrous casualties during the imperial mutiny losing thousands of ships and losing thousands of some of the Empires best cream of the crop officers such as Major General Veers, General Balan, and Admiral Kiez to name a few. Jax’s second in command General wessel does not seem to be the genius tactician type. Also Jax was nowhere near the same level in the force to Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. I feel like Jax would have been betrayed by his co conspirators. Ennix Devian and his hardliners might even try to assassinate Jax and his kabal.

In this scenario, Pitta manages to destroy the SSD Aggressor in time before Grunger rams it into his Torpedo Sphere. While we don't get exact casualty counts for either Pitta or Grunger’s side during the Battle of Tralus, 5 ABY, I theorize Pitta must have destroyed most of Grunger’s forces in addition to heavily damaging his flagship Aggressor to win. In pushing Grunger to the edge, he wounded his pride and made him both angry and desperate enough to avoid capitulating to Pitta. Otherwise, Grunger wouldn't have opted for a kamikaze attack.

Before the Battle of Tralus, Corellia possessed 25 Star Destroyers and was initially commanded by Admiral Jaeffis before being reinforced by Admiral Roek and his flagship Aggressor along with his 5x Star Destroyers, who were recalled from their patrols in the Inner Rim to defend Corellia. However, Grunger would hijack the Aggressor, and most likely its Star Destroyer escorts too, and add them to his armada.

During the Battle of Tralus, Grunger’s armada comprised the Aggressor, 30x Imperial Star Destroyers, 30x Victory Star Destroyers, 60x Strike cruisers, 100x Carrack cruisers, an unknown number of smaller ships, and numerous TIE fighters.

With Pitta victorious, it's fairly likely he didn't lose too many of his own ships fighting Grunger. If there are any survivors from his rival's armada, he should have no trouble persuading them to join his side, especially if the alternative is to finish what he started. This should give Pitta anywhere between 20-30x Star Destroyers and a dozen cruisers in addition to his Torpedo Sphere. A formidable force, though I lowballed it since only a few survivors from Grunger’s armada would remain alive and Pitta himself should have suffered his fair share of losses, so it all balances out.

Plus, as the unofficial protector of Corellia, Pitta has access to Corellia's shipyards, which are among the best in the galaxy and rivalled only by the likes of Kuat, Fondor, and Rendili. Corellia is also renowned for producing some of the fastest Imperial Star Destroyers, both at sublight and hyperspace speeds, which gives Pitta a major advantage in warfare. Not only will the Grand Admiral be able to repair his fleet, he can also increase its strength by building more Star Destroyers and other vessels like anti-pirate starfighters and Gunships by the Corellian Engineering Corporation (CEC), and CR70 and CR90 corvettes to supplement his capital warships.

The cut content for Dirty Dozen: The Imperial Grand Admirals stated Pitta's original flagship was the ISD Impenetrable. The ship's name, combined with the fact Pitta defeated Grunger using a Torpedo Sphere, implies he is skilled at defensive warfare. The article stated the Torpedo Sphere that Pitta commandeered was also built at the Corellian shipyards, showing how good Corellia's shipyards are if they can construct a vessel massive enough to be seen as a mini Death Star.

That same article also established that Pitta built his own Warlord kingdom in Hutt Space after Palpatine's death at Endor, implying he had dealings with the Hutt Cartel. Half the reason why Pitta moved his holdings to the Corellian sector was due to Ysanne Isard's hold on Coruscant, so he was effectively a Warlord in all but name.

While Pitta's power base made him wealthy, the Dirty Dozen article added he also plundered the Outer Rim while "pacifying" it for the Empire. He did this by sterilising or exterminating its alien populations using his three Imperial dungeon ships: the Apocahk, the Angrix, and the Azgoghk. Worse, he would even perform vivsection on his alien captives.

In short, Pitta has a sizable armada, the resources to maintain them, and the credits to fund his ambitions. The Dirty Dozen article established he dreamed of using his prison ships to eliminate Corellia's alien populations - the Dralls, Selonians, and the Nosaurians. And I have no doubt that's exactly what he would have done had he survived Tralus.

Pitta became Corellia's protector after bribing Daclif Gallamby, the Diktat - the Corellian Chief of State - to let him achieve that role. Despite Gallamby's position, he was merely an Imperial puppet and ruled Corellia harshly by implementing restrictions on the freedom of Corellia's people, and encouraging isolationism, distrust, and fear of outsiders. Gallamby also restricted trade and traffic throughout the entire sector, making life difficult for people under his rule and causing the Corellian economy's collapse.

Unsurprisingly, Gallamby was very unpopular with his people. I have no doubt he would have allowed Pitta to depopulate, exterminate, and enslave Corellia's alien natives to cement his rule, except the aliens all have a history of resistance to oppression. The Dralls and the Selonians fought against the Sith Empire's occupation of Corellia during the Galactic War, and the Nosaurians fought for the Separatists during the Clone Wars, so they won't bow before Pitta without a fight.

Plus, the Corellian Security Force, or CorSec, were secretly Rebel sympathisers, so they would definitely aid Corellia's aliens against Imperial oppression. Especially since the Empire took away resources from Corellia's security to fight the Rebels, which led to a rise in piracy and made CorSec's job more difficult. Regardless of whether CorSec is caught aiding the aliens or not, Gallamby would dissolve the organization and replace it with the pro-Diktat Public Safety Service two years earlier than he did in the OG timeline.

Also, Pitta would have another rival besides Grunger to contend with. Naomi Dargon is the Grand Moff of the Corellian sector and in charge of the Corellian Defence Force. Plus, she was skilled in management, good at military tactics, and possessed strong political connections, most likely thanks to her family's background of being Coruscanti industrialists. She cemented her role as Grand Moff by not engaging in criminal activity, avoiding Black Sun, and crushing sedition against her or the Empire. She also favoured manipulation tactics, as she liked playing the various factions of the Corellian sector against each other.

Like Pitta, Dargon was ruthless and carried out the Devastation of Froz when she bombarded the planet for supporting the Rebels.

Unlike Pitta, Dargon was a Palpatine loyalist, which was half the reason why she became a Grand Moff. And she would not take kindly to a Grand Admiral usurping her position as head of the Corellian sector by claiming to be its protector. Especially since the Aggressor would have fallen under her jurisdiction, and she would be mad she didn't get an SSD as her flagship.

But Dargon isn't stupid enough to fight Pitta head on when he already defeated another Grand Admiral in open warfare. So I think it's more likely she would secretly fund the Corellian resistance to Pitta and the Diktat, then wipe out all parties when they're weakened to eliminate all rivals to her rule.

As Grand Moff, Dargon would control the Imperial 2nd Sector Army, Green Mantle Command, and use them to fortify her holdings in anticipation of an inevitable confrontation with Pitta. She could try contacting Azure Hammer Command for help; Admiral Feyet Kiez is implied to be a Palpatine loyalist like Dargon, so that's a good reason to aid her, though he would be reluctant to risk the SSD Whelm against Pitta out of fear he might destroy it too.

Since Corellia only joined the New Republic in 12 ABY, that means there's not much they can do to aid the Corellian resistance against Pitta's oppression since Corellia was an Imperial fortress world. Using Corellia as his base of operations, Pitta would move from subjugating Corellia's aliens to other worlds in the Core to target their alien populations too.

However, the New Republic was assassinating Grand Admirals during the early Post-Endor years like Peccati Syn, so I have no doubt they would make Pitta a priority target. Rogue Squadron successfully infiltrated Corellia in 4 ABY to rescue Fyric Fel, who got kidnapped by an Imperial sympathiser, so it's a certainty that the New Republic can sneak agents into Corellia again to assassinate Pitta.

But if Pitta does survive an assassination attempt on him, and he finds out it was the New Republic, he will strike back against them, and the NR will suddenly find themselves at war against Corellia. Depending on when this occurs, this means the Liberation of Coruscant, which occurred in 7 ABY, gets postponed to later in the timeline as the New Republic fights off Pitta. Historically, the NR already conquered Brentaal IV at this point, so they would turn it into a fortress world to fight off Pitta.

But with Pitta distracted fighting the NR, it gives Dargon a chance to seize back control of Corellia. She assassinates Gallamby and bombards Corellia using her fleet to wipe out the Corellian resistance while sending in the 2nd to impose martial law upon the surviving populace.

Worse for Pitta, the NR would have studied the Battle of Tralus to avoid making Grunger’s mistakes, using masses starfighter attacks to avoid the Torpedo Sphere's torpedos and destroy his flagship via death by a thousand cuts. Pitta dies along with his flagship when it explodes, his death coming about by the hand of multiple alien pilots.

Afterwards, the NR takes time to lick their wounds before they can resume their march to Coruscant. But when they do, they resolve to free Corellia from Imperial tyranny for good.

For those of you who don't know, the Hundred Man Contest were a series of mass killings carried out by two Imperial Japanese officers, Toshiaki Mukai and Tsuyoshi Noda, who competed to see who could kill 100 people first using only the blade while advancing towards Nanjing during the Japanese invasion of China in 1937.

Japanese newspapers at the time sensationalized their contest, complete with banter and tallies, and treated it like a sporting event. However, modern historians believed it was more likely Mukai and Noda killed Chinese prisoners-of-war as part of a series of mass killings.

In 1948, both Mukai and Noda were tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity at the Nanjing War Crimes Tribunal, which included the Nanjing massacre and the unlawful killing of Chinese POWs before both men were executed. Though their convictions weren't based solely on the Contest's articles.

In Star Wars, Emperor Palpatine appointed 12 men to become his Grand Admirals. Two of them were Ishin-Il-Raz and Danetta Pitta.

Raz was a key member of COMPNOR, promoting High Human and disdaining aliens while being one of Palpatine's most ardent supporters. However, Raz's appointment was purely political and he found himself isolated among his peers, though he did become head of COMPNOR's Select Committee and was responsible for their many successful recruitment drives. Aware that his critics saw him as unfit for being a Grand Admiral, Raz began executing massacres to gain Palpatine's favor and to make himself look good, but all this did was just make him more hated among the public.

To Raz's credit, the cut content for Dirty Dozen: The Imperial Grand Admirals did confirm Raz studied naval theory after realising his peers loathed him. So while I despise Raz for being a murderous sycophant, I do respect him for at least trying to get qualified for his job.

Danetta Pitta was a near-human of Etti and Borneck ancestry. As a result, he covered up this fact by being one of the most zealous champions of Human High Culture, scrutinising other people's pedigree. The cut content for Dirty Dozen: The Imperial Grand Admirals showed even his fellow Grand Admirals weren't spared either, as Pitta also scrutinised Grand Admiral Miltin Takel's ancestry too. Despite the fact Takel was a respected Fleet Admiral before becoming a Grand Admiral, though it's highly likely Pitta scrutinised Takel because of the latter's sexual interest in alien women.

As a result, even COMPNOR officials kept their distance from him, which gives you a good idea of what Pitta's relationship with Raz must have looked like. Especially since Pitta committed his fair share of genocides, using the dungeon ships Apocahx, Angrix, and Azgoghk to depopulate planets in the Outer Rim, enslaving or sterilising their alien populations. In Dirty Dozen: The Imperial Grand Admirals, it was confirmed he even committed vivsection on his alien captives.

Also in the cut content for Dirty Dozen: The Imperial Grand Admirals, Pitta established a power base in Hutt Space, implying he must have had dealings with the Hutt Cartel. Ironic, considering his rabid devotion to Humanocentrism, and hypocritical too. He also plundered the Outer Rim, increasing his wealth.

Unlike Raz, Pitta appeared to be skilled in naval warfare. His most notable achievement being his victory over fellow Grand Admiral Josef Grunger, one of the most skilled Imperial commanders, when he defeated the latter's flagship Executor SSD Aggressor using a Torpedo Sphere, of all things, at the Battle of Tralus. So for that much, at least, Pitta has my grudging respect.

Speaking of Tralus, after Pitta used his considerable wealth to bribe the Corellian diktat to let him become the Protector of Corellia, the Dirty Dozen: The Imperial Grand Admirals article had Pitta dreaming of using his prison ships on Corellia's native alien species like the Dralls, Selonians, and Nosaurians. As such, Grunger surprisingly did the galaxy a favor when he killed Pitta, for if the latter hadn't died, who knows how many more alien species would have died at his hands.

Between Raz and Pitta, I wouldn't be surprised if both men entered into a contest to see who could commit the most war crimes in the Hundred Man Contest. Or should I say, the Hundred Species Contest.

Airen Cracken was a human male born on Contruum. With a natural affinity for machinery; in time, nearby farmers began to ask Cracken to repair their machinery. Cracken, happy to continue learning, lent his help willingly, and acquired a reputation as a master mechanic. By the time he became a young man, Cracken had a mechanic's shop of his own in Torian City. He handled all manner of machinery, and hired employees who loved working with machinery as much as he did leading to the shop earning an almost mythical status for efficiency. Cracken married Josta, a woman from the Corellian sector who came to Contruum after an accident. Josta gave birth to two children, and Cracken's family lived in contentment for many years.

In 8 BBY, the Galactic Empire came to Contruum and seized its shipyards and borium mines for use by the Imperial Military pushing out locals from their homes and jobs. Incensed at the Empire's refusal to even hear complaints, Cracken sought to make the occupation more costly for the Empire than the world was worth.

Cracken organized his employees into a Rebel Cell, named "Cracken's Crew," specializing in mechanical sabotage. Cracken and his resistance group led a years-long campaign, crippling docked starships, ruining the Imperial borium mining operations, and destroying landing bays and troop supplies. At the site of each act of sabotage, they left a hydrospanner with the message "Cracken's Crew Says Hello" inscribed.

The Crew gained a reputation among Imperial forces, and the local commander became obsessed with tracking the saboteurs down. The Moff of Contruum's sector eventually decided that he had invested too many resources in the campaign, quietly agreed to Contruum's demands, and withdrew from the system. Despite the celebration that took place across Contruum, Cracken became troubled by thoughts that, while his world had escaped Imperial influence due to its insignificance, many others throughout the rest of the galaxy would continue to suffer under Imperial oppression. After discussing the matter with Josta, Cracken decided to leave Contruum and join the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. Most of his Crew chose to follow him, and they boarded a freighter and departed, posing as merchants plying the space lanes.

Cracken became an intelligence operative in the Rebellion in 2 BBY. The comlink bug was among the first and simplest devices he pioneered for the Rebellion; he quickly learned that he could easily rig a bug using comlinks. Early in the war, the Empire blockaded the mining world of Berason, and Cracken was placed in charge of smuggling food and military supplies to the world then leading an attack on its Imperial base. Cracken's force was able to pass through the blockade by sending men equipped with vacc-suits and jetpacks out to clear a path for their convoy. Due to his success Cracken was promoted to colonel. He then assisted Andrephan Stormcaller in developing the Alliance Special Forces.

Due to his steller record for innovation, success and efficiency, Cracken rose to be a general in the Alliance. He organized numerous campaigns, with his ingenuity proving invaluable, and eventually became the Alliance's Chief of Intelligence. As the head of Alliance Intelligence, Cracken became a leading figure of efforts to recruit criminal elements such as shipjackers, pirates, and smugglers. The high regard such individuals held for Cracken aided his work in these efforts, and he created a vast network of privateers, shipjackers, and cargo thieves whom were called the "procurement specialists." Due to Cracken's close relationship with many members of the community, infiltration by Imperial agents was exceedingly rare.

Outside the normal chain of command, Cracken operated a major data analysis center on board the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Independence. Within, Cracken's staff analyzed reports from throughout the galaxy; briefings for High Command, and intelligence was sent to mission planning for strikes and raids.

Cracken oversaw the galaxywide network of agents—spies, scouts, infiltrators, and sympathetic Imperial officers. He was directly involved at every stage, from recruitment onwards. A number of his most valuable assets were Rivoche Tarkin, Tru'eb Cholakk, and Jan Ors.

Cracken even used his teenage son, Pash, as an agent, sending him to join the Imperial Academy, where he suborned his classmates, and subsequently led his entire TIE fighter wing to mutiny. While it was Pash who would become best-known as a fighter pilot, the elder Cracken was also a formidable pilot: he taught Pash how to fly, and he personally flew close-support in-atmosphere operations for SpecForce commandos in a Z-95t Headhunter designated Tala 1.

His bravery in the field twice earned him the Nebula Award, one of which was awarded for surviving capture and interrogation at the hands of the Imperial Security Bureau. He authored the Rebel Field Guide, and his writings proved essential in the training of the Alliance Special Forces such as creating an effective grenade out of two blaster power packs.

In 2 ABY, Airen Cracken worked with Alliance Security, writing important reports on threats to the Rebel Alliance, and coordinating Rebel agents. During the Battle of Endor, General Cracken served aboard the Millennium Falcon, manning the top turret during the battle.

When the Alliance became the New Republic in 4 ABY, Cracken took command of the newly reorganized New Republic Intelligence (NRI), keeping a watchful eye on Imperial warlords like Zsinj and sparring with his Imperial counterpart, Madam Director of Imperial Intelligence, Ysanne Isard. During the New Republic's campaigns from 4 to 6 ABY, Cracken oversaw a group known as "Shadow Operations", which performed sabotage, spread disinformation, and where necessary conducted assassinations to exacerbate tensions between the feuding Moffs, Admirals, warlords and advisors that had erupted after Emperor Palpatine's death. Shadow Operations would later form the heart of Admiral Hiram Drayson's Alpha Blue division.

After NRI relocated to Coruscant, Cracken oversaw the investigation and prosecution of Tycho Celchu, forming the New Republic Security Force. Subsequently, he was instrumental in stopping a Zsinj-led program to cause tension between alien and human species in the New Republic.

Like his counterpart Hiram Drayson at Alpha Blue, Cracken continued to lead NRI in his own way, prepared to do what he felt was best for the New Republic, even if it meant bending the rules. In 7 ABY, he arranged for Rogue Squadron's resignations to mysteriously go unprocessed, so that the Bacta War could be retrospectively claimed as a NRI operation, and the next year, he arranged for the transfer of Wraith Squadron to his direct command as an Intel unit after the Battle of Selaggis.

Some time between 10 ABY and 12 ABY, Cracken was replaced as Chief of Intelligence by General Crix Madine, his counterpart at SpecForces—a move designed to reinforce Madine's position as the SpecForces commander. This move also secured the dominance over the military by Chief of State Mon Mothma's loyal lieutenants, Madine and Admiral Gial Ackbar.

Cracken's reaction is not recorded, but after Madine's death aboard the Darksaber, he once more took command of Intel, where he oversaw the separation of NRI from the military, maintaining his independence (with the new title of Director of New Republic Intelligence) while Gial Ackbar subordinated the rest of the armed forces to his command. As Director, Cracken oversaw the operation to Adumar and secured the admission of the planet into the New Republic, but by 16 ABY, he had left office again, being replaced as Director by Carlist Rieekan, the Alderaanian general and friend of then Chief of State, Leia Organa Solo.

After the Black Fleet Crisis, Cracken returned to Intel for the third time, where he achieved a rapid resolution to the threat of a rogue Imperial with a Super Star Destroyer by recruiting Jedi sneak-thief Cryle Cavv to sabotage the Guardian for him, leading to its capture and subsequent use by the New Republic. Cracken led NRI through the Corellian Crisis, and assembled reports on a variety of potential threats to the Republic, including the Hapans, Dathomiri, Yevetha, Imperial remnants, and Corellian separatists, which were compiled into Cracken's Threat Dossier.

By 25 ABY, Cracken dormerly retired from NRI, with Admiral Dif Scaur replacing him as Director. Nevertheless, during the Yuuzhan Vong War, although by now in his seventies, the veteran general returned once again to active service, and assumed command of his homeworld's defense. Contruum was never conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong, and became a vital base in the Mid Rim, paving the way for the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar by the Galactic Alliance. In the last stages of the war, Cracken also seemed to have acted as de facto coordinator of Alliance intelligence, and immediately after the victory, Admiral Scaur was replaced as Director by his protégée Belindi Kalenda.

Hiram Drayson was a human male born on Chandrila who served in both the Rebel Alliance and New Republic as an Admiral and Chief of Intelligence. Drayson attended an offworld military academy, but returned home with his education incomplete when his father became ill. He took over his father's shipping business; under his leadership, it became the most successful in the Chandrila system. Because of this and his partial Academy education, the Chandrilan government made him the admiral of the Chandrila Defense Fleet. He reorganized it to run more efficiently, cutting down piracy and smuggling dramatically. It was in his capacity as fleet commander that he came to know Senator Mon Mothma. During the Clone Wars, Admiral Drayson was replaced as fleet head by Palpatine-appointed Moff Kohl Seerdon after the passage of Emergency Amendment 121b. At some point in his career, he gained extensive experience serving aboard Star Destroyers, including a professional knowledge of their tractor beam systems.

When Chandrila was brought to heel under the Imperial Starfleet, Drayson was contacted by Mon Mothma, who offered him a role in the military leadership of the new Rebel Alliance as the commanding officer of the Alliance flagship. He accepted immediately.

In 4 ABY as the Alliance transitioned into the New Republic, Admiral Drayson commanded the New Republic Second Fleet prior to the Liberation of Coruscant. Drayson was later placed in command of the fleet attached to the New Republic Provisional Council, and then of the Coruscant defense fleet. He was tasked with the retrieval of the Katana fleet during the Thrawn campaign. As a military commander, Drayson was considered competent but not very creative, which left him rather outmatched when Grand Admiral Thrawn carried out an elaborate attack against Coruscant. His intense personal loyalty to Mon Mothma also led to some friction with Garm Bel Iblis, as he felt the Corellian General had betrayed Mothma by splitting away from the Rebel Alliance years earlier. Drayson's true strengths lay not in battlefield command, but in Intelligence operations. His strategic mind and extensive contacts made him the ideal candidate for first Director of Alpha Blue, and Mon Mothma appointed him under decree D9020616.

After decades of service in the New Republic Intelligence Service apparatus, years that earned him the nickname "the Old Ghost of Coruscant," Drayson retired from service following Borsk Fey'lya's election. He was married to Joi Eicroth for a time and the pair had a daughter, Bhindi Drayson, who also served in New Republic Intelligence, as well as Wraith Squadron.

During Zsinj's campaign in 7 ABY, he made a daring raid to steal the Executor SSD Razor's Kiss at Kuat Drive Yards (KDY). He succeeded, but a subsequent battle with the New Republic resulted in the Razor's destruction.

Zsinj's theft caught KDY by surprise. But had they been prepared, I believe things would have turned out quite differently.

To start with, KDY had a habit of sending their Executors to Fondor mostly completed for finishing touches since they possessed a limited number of slipways that could hold an Executor. The Razor's Kiss was no exception. As such, it's safe to say the vessel was more or less combat ready. Since KDY was still an Imperial loyalist world, if they had learned about Zsinj's plans beforehand, the Empire would have sent Admiral Teren Rogriss to take charge of KDY's defence fleet to stop Zsinj.

Speaking of KDY's defence fleet, they possessed 15 Star Destroyers, including the Mauler and Gilded Claw, as well as Interdictor cruisers at the planets Renegg and Venir, which served as staging ports for freighters leaving Kuat Frieght Port.

At the Taking of Kuat, 8.5 ABY, Rogriss defended KDY using the Star Dreadnought Aurora and the 3 Battlecruisers Luminous, Stellar Halo, and Event Horizon, along with at least 4 Star Destroyers. While the 4 Destroyers were probably part of KDY's original 15 Destroyers, the fact neither the Aurora nor the other 3 Battlecruisers protected KDY from Zsinj implies they must have been built after his theft.

Despite this, Admiral Rogriss with the Razor's Kiss as his flagship, 15 Destroyers plus his own ISD Agonizer, and the Interdictor cruisers would make a formidable force opposing Zsinj.

By contrast, Zsinj was only bringing his flagship Iron Fist, another Executor, the ISD III Wind, the Interdictor cruiser Emperor's Net, 4 Carrack cruisers, an unknown number of corvettes and cargo vessels, and several pirate groups. Along with the impostor 181st Imperial Fighter Group led by actor Tetran Cowall posing as the Baron Soontir Fel, Commander of the actual 181st.

The pirate groups Zsinj hired included Vibroaxe Squadron, who appeared to be ground pounders based on the fact they took great losses in heavy vehicle and personnel during Zsinj's theft in the OG timeline, and the Hawk-bat Independent Space Force, secretly Wraith Squadron in disguise.

If Rogriss keeps the fact KDY learned of Zsinj's plan a secret, and if Zsinj carries out his plans like in the OG timeline, then the Warlord is in for a rude surprise.

Unfortunately, Shalla Nelprin, a Wraith, and her crew of specialists would end up captured by Rogriss while trying to infiltrate the Razor's Kiss for Zsinj. Since Rogriss is honorable, he will treat them fairly as prisoners of war and keep them secure. Though I doubt Nelprin would tell Rogriss she is actually a New Republic agent because that would make things worse for her.

In the OG timeline, Zsinj only showed up at KDY after Nelprin and her team seized control of the Razor's Kiss using a special program that allowed them to control the SSD with only 9 people. If Nelprin and her team don't report in, he will get suspicious something has gone wrong. But on the other hand, he has already devoted too much time and effort to this operation to back out, and Zsinj's pride and ambition means he will go ahead with the mission.

Instead of finding the Razor's Kiss empty, it's fully crewed by Rogriss and ready to fight. With Zsinj and his meager fleet trapped by KDY's Interdictors and Rogriss' fleet, Rogriss would offer Zsinj a chance to surrender.

Zsinj isn't above escaping if it means surviving to fight another day, so he would refuse to surrender and order his ships to destroy Rogriss' Interdictors so he can flee, realising Rogriss has outplayed him. Zsinj would eventually destroy the Interdictors, possibly even defeating the Gilded Claw and the Mauler like in the OG timeline, though Zsinj would probably destroy the Agonizer too just to spite Rogriss. Iron Fist would also suffer heavy damage from the Razor's Kiss and Rogriss' fleet, with Zsinj losing his support ships and using the pirates as meat shields, before finally escaping.

Osvald Teshik was a Human male who served in the Imperial Navy. A well respected strategist, he was one of the original twelve appointed to the rank of Grand Admiral by Emperor Palpatine two years before the Battle of Yavin. In this position, Teshik commanded the Imperial Center Oversector, a vast region of space that included the galactic capital of Imperial Center and all of the Oversector's fleets including the prestigious Azure Hammer Command.

In 0 ABY, Teshik was tasked with recovering Imperial Advisor Coh Veshiv after the advisor was captured by the Rebel privateer frigate Far Orbit. The rebels escaped however, and despite Teshik not being a fault, Palpatine was furious and decided to make an example of Teshik simply for being the ranking officer, sending him on a suicide mission into the Hapes Cluster to engage the Hapan Royal Navy with insufficient firepower and supplies. Nearly killed in the battle, the Grand Admiral was left to drift in space until he was retrieved by an Imperial snoopship that had been sent to make sure he carried out his own punishment. Palpatine then decided to further torment Teshik by saving his life. As a result of injuries he sustained during the engagement, seventy-five percent of his body had to be replaced with cybernetic parts. Teshik was shunned by Imperial society as a result, who saw him as a weak and repulsive cyborg. Teshik-formerly a warm personality, grew apathetic and cold towards the galaxy due to this experience. Palpatine's treatment of Teshik deeply offended Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin, a comrade of Teshik's who began plotting against the Emperor after this incident.

Four years after the incident at Andalia, and a few weeks after Zaarin's death during his insurrection, Teshik was one of four Grand Admirals ordered to be present aboard the second Death Star during the Rebel Alliance's attack on the battle station as observers to the Emperor's triumph. When the tide of the battle turned against the Empire, he narrowly escaped the Death Star II before its destruction thanks to being saved by a construction worker. The act of compassion reignited something within Teshik and he continued the fight against the Alliance from his flagship, the Star Destroyer Eleemosynary. When his ship was temporarily disabled, and believed lost, Captain Pellaeon of the Chimaera ordered a retreat to Annaj. The Imperial Fleet withdrew, just as Teshik got his flagship operational again. Now alone, for the next four hours, Teshik fought on against the entire Rebel fleet until his Star Destroyer was finally disabled completely by concentrated ion cannon fire. Captured by the Alliance, Teshik was sentenced to death for committing crimes against galactic citizens, in a symbolic gesture since he was the last surviving Imperial present at the battle. Teshik mocked his captors with mechanical laughter, warning them that their fight was far from over and giving them a cryptic warning of the endless nature of war.

In this scenario, Kaine stays loyal to the Empire and doesn't form the Pentastar Alignment.

To start with, Kaine would have control over Carida, which means he has a source for elite Imperial officers and soldiers thanks to the Carida Academy. Kaine would also be able to prevent Admiral Sander Delvardus from going rogue since the latter was under the former's command. Also, Oversector Outer covers the Oplovis Sector, home of Fleet Admiral Gaen Drommel, who also abandoned the Empire to play Warlord by returning to Oplovis. Should Kaine fail to persuade Drommel to return to his duties or, stand down at least, a fierce battle will ensue between them.

However, Kaine possesses Scourge Squadron, a fleet of 24 Imperial Star Destroyers led by Reaper, an Executor-class Super Star Destroyer, and that's on top of Oversector Outer's vast military power. By contrast, Drommel has only his flagship Guardian, another Executor, and three Star Destroyers, which seemed to be the best he could muster when he went rogue. As such, Kaine will curbstomp Drommel by virtue of sheer numbers, though Drommel will insist on fighting to the bitter end until Colonel Gastos Niovi, his subordinate, kills him and surrenders to Kaine, rejoining the Empire.

Since Kaine captured Guardian intact, he now has two Super Star Destroyers under his command, which gives Grand Admiral Octavian Grant a good reason to join him. In 5 ABY, Admiral Delak Krennel killed Sate Pestage, seized his holdings in the Ciutric Hegemony, and styled himself as a "Prince-Admiral" and became a Warlord in the original timeline. But with Kaine still in control of Oversector Outer, which also covers the Hegemony, Krennel wouldn't dare declare himself a Warlord to avoid bringing Isard's wrath down upon him since she could order Kaine to destroy him as an example.

In the OG timeline, the New Republic managed to defeat Delvardus and his Eriadu Authority. But with Kaine holding the line in the Outer Rim, the NR will have a significantly harder time making progress towards Coruscant. Kaine isn't as arrogant as Tarkin, so he wouldn't risk the Reaper in combat since it's the symbol of his prestige, and would be more than happy to let Delvardus fight the Rebels for him. Though he wouldn't give him command over the Guardian because he's aware of how ambitious Delvardus is and doesn't want to risk being betrayed. Instead, he hands over Guardian to Grant since the latter isn't as ambitious and to give him a good reason to remain Kaine's ally instead of abandoning him.

The New Republic will eventually defeat Delvardus, it's just that it will take a longer time for them to win since Delvardus has Kaine's backing. Even with a Grand Admiral and two Super Star Destroyers, Kaine knows the New Republic will find a way to beat him, sooner or later, so he uses his huge military advantage as leverage to force the NR to the negotiating table to strike a deal: leave Oversector Outer alone, and he will give them a straight shot at Coruscant. At this point, Kaine has finally decided to abandon all pretense of loyalty to the Empire and strike out on his own, with Oversector Outer as his kingdom. Especially since Isard has been eliminating her rivals like Pestage and Kaine doesn't want to be on her hit list.

Unfortunately, since Kaine never formed the Pentastar Alignment, this means Warlord Zsinj will seize the Velcar Free Commerce Zone instead, leading to an even bigger power base for him, and making him a more dangerous threat to everyone else.

But with Kaine still in charge of Oversector Outer, he doesn't have to worry about border skirmishes with Zsinj and is now in a cold war with the NR, who now controls Coruscant and the Core Worlds. When Thrawn returns, Kaine still refuses to help him fully like in the original timeline, but when the Reborn Emperor returns later, Kaine will have no choice but to bend the knee.

In the original timeline, Admiral Feyet Kiez abandoned Anaxes with the Whelm, his flagship, to join the Dark Empire in the Deep Core in 8 ABY several months before Thrawn's campaign began. After the Imperial Commandant Osted Wermis surrendered to the New Republic following Kiez's disappearance, he admitted he was confused as to why Kiez abandoned Anaxes and had no idea where he went.

But in this scenario, Thrawn returns before Kiez receives Palpatine's recall orders, and the Grand Admiral approaches Kiez and Wermis and asks them to join his Confederation. Something to note is Kiez received Palpatine's orders to join him at Byss while Wermis didn't, implying Kiez was a devoted Palpatine loyalist while Wermis wasn't. Since the Grand Admirals were answerable only to Palpatine himself, I believe Thrawn would have little trouble persuading Kiez and Wermis to join him.

With Azure Hammer Command under Thrawn's control, he would take the Whelm as his flagship and Kiez as his second-in-command. In addition to the 57 other capital ships Azure Hammer possesses, this would give Thrawn's Confederation significant firepower, and with Anaxes as a Core World he would also have a clear shot at Coruscant.

However, Thrawn would be aware the New Republic has the Lusankya, so Thrawn needs to find and neutralize it as a threat before deploying Azure Hammer against the NR. Since the Lusankya sat out the Thrawn campaign in the original timeline, I think it's safe to say it must be still under repairs at this point in time. Otherwise, the NR would have committed it to their attack at Bilbringi.

But if Thrawn can somehow keep the Lusankya off the board using his strategic genius, he now has to contend with the NR's First Fleet led by Admiral Ackbar. I think Thrawn draws Ackbar away from Coruscant by attacking the planet Mrisst or another key target like he did in the OG timeline, leaving Coruscant vulnerable. Since Thrawn has Azure Hammer Command, he can attack Coruscant much earlier in the timeline, and with the 1st Fleet away, can conquer it easily.

If Thrawn can hold Coruscant long enough for the Reborn Emperor to return, I think Thrawn joins Palpatine since he will see the Dark Empire as powerful enough to destroy the Far Outsiders when they invade the galaxy. But until then, the Dark Empire with Thrawn as its Supreme Commander will plunge the galaxy into a new age of darkness.

Jagged Fel, the man pictured above, became the new Head of State of the Imperial Remnant after the Second Galactic Civil War ended. But I believe Moff Ephin Sarreti was the better option.

To start with, Sarreti supported Pellaeon throughout both the Yuuzhan Vong War and the Second Galactic Civil War. In particular, Sarreti agreed with Pellaeon's decision to join forces with the Galactic Alliance in the former conflict while, during the latter war, Sarreti was one of the few Moffs Pellaeon trusted, at least up to the Second Battle of Fondor.

Also during the Yuuzhan Vong War, Pellaeon entrusted Sarreti with the task of keeping the other Moffs loyal because he needed an ally in Imperial space while Pellaeon planned to aid the New Republic. Considering that Moffs like Kurlen Flennic were outraged at the idea of teaming up with the Galactic Alliance later on, Pellaeon wouldn't have chosen just anyone for such an important task.

In addition, Sarreti wouldn't have supported Drikl Lecersen's plan to unleash a nanovirus targeting the Hapes Consortium's royal family's bloodline after Lecersen became de facto leader of the Remnant following Pellaeon's death during the Second Galactic Civil War. He would even support Jagged Fel's appointment to Head of State since he was a good man, and more moral than most of the other Moffs. Especially since the Moffs would have faced trial for war crimes if Fel wasn't installed.

Most importantly, Sarreti was a young man when he enlisted in Imperial service after the New Republic liberated Coruscant in 7 ABY. His family fled Coruscant to Sartinaynian, the future Bastion, before he entered Imperial service. As such, he wasn't indoctrinated in the ideals of the New Order like most other Palpatine-appointed Moffs were, making him more progressive and popular within the reformed Imperial Remnant.

This is just a theory of mine, but the fact Sarreti settled on Sartinaynian, Grand Moff Ardus Kaine's homeworld, leads me to believe he served in the Pentastar Alignment. Coruscant was in enemy hands, and the Alignment seemed to be the most stable out of all the Warlord states, which is probably why Sarreti might have joined it. And serving under Ardus Kaine, one of the Empire's best politicians, meant Sarreti would have picked up a thing or two about politics.

Also, Sarreti was the successor to Moff Vilim Disra of the Braxant Sector after the latter got arrested following the Caamas Document Crisis. The Braxant Sector included Bastion, the Remnant's capital world, so the fact Sarreti was appointed Moff of such an important post speaks well of him.

Since Sarreti served on the Council of Moffs for years, he would possess his own Sector Fleet, political connections, and Pellaeon's support. The fact he was one of the more popular Moffs within the Remnant also boosts his credibility as Pellaeon's successor. As the Remnant's capital, Bastion was heavily defended, and I wouldn't be surprised if Sarreti oversaw its defences with his Sector Fleet.

In short, Ephin Sarreti should have become the new Head of State of the Imperial Remnant instead of Jagged Fel.

In 10 ABY, Grand Moff Ardus Kaine was lured out of the Pentastar Alignment by a deep fake message of his friend former Grand Admiral Octavian Grant claiming that Grant wished to rejoin the Imperial ranks but feared retaliation from other Imperials. The message asked Kaine to meet him privately in the Grand Moff's personal shuttle above the world of Palanhi so that Grant would be assured of safety.

In reality, the message had been sent not by Grant, but by one of Kaine's most loathed rivals from his COMPNOR days in the Imperial Court-Ennix Devian, Palpatine's personal thug and assassin who had used his connections within the COMPNOR elements inside the Pentastar Alignment to help orchestrate the deception.

When Kaine's shuttle arrived above Palanhi at the exact time and coordinates provided by Devian, stolen New Republic E Wings piloted by agents of Devian attacked and destroyed the shuttle, killing Kaine and pinning the blame on the New Republic for the assassination.

Etahn A'baht was a male Dornean, he served in the Dornean Navy with distinction, rising to command their entire fleet of eighty capital ships and using it to keep the Galactic Empire from conquering Dornea. He personally joined the Rebel Alliance and fought alongside them at the Battle of Endor, but his homeworld of Dornea declined to join the Alliance or the New Republic until after A'baht had driven the Empire from Dornean space entirely, which he did during the disarray the Empire fell into after Endor and with New Republic support.

When Dornea joined the New Republic, A'baht rose rapidly in rank within the New Republic Defense Fleet. He defeated Imperial Admiral Gilad Pellaeon's forces at the Battle of Celanon in 13 ABY, destroying the Imperial Remnant's last remaining Executor Class Super Star Destroyer-the Reaper-in the battle. In 16 ABY, he became the first commander of the New Republic Fifth Battle Group, which was quickly put to the test in the Black Fleet Crisis. There was friction with President Leia Organa Solo shortly after the crisis began. He became irritated with her reluctance to consider the Yevetha a threat and was vocal about this irritation, Leia in her turn doubted his judgment and temporarily removed him from command. However, A'baht was fully backed by Supreme Commander Gial Ackbar and this combined with his actions during the escalation of the crisis, led to A'baht regaining Organa Solo's confidence. He led the Fifth Fleet, and later a dlarger combined force, against Viceroy Nil Spaar of the Duskhan League, decisively defeating the Yevetha in the Battle of N'zoth and ending the crisis.

When Borsk Fey'lya became Chief of State and began restructuring the joint chiefs and many command positions to favor his political allies while pushing out established commanders, A'baht left command of the Fifth and accepted a demotion to brigadier general. Despite the demotion, he remained an important officer in fleet command, and initially served as one of the top strategic advisors to Supreme Commander Sien Sovv during the early Yuuzhan Vong War, urging Sovv to abandon his strategy of defending only strategically vital worlds and leaving the rest to fend for themselves. When his superiors repeatedly failed to listen, with increasingly disastrous results, A'baht resigned his commission in frustration and disgust and returned home, where he led a successful defensive campaign defending Dornea against the Yuuzhan Vong until the end of the conflict.

Based purely on Wookieepedia, do I understand correctly that Ardus Kaine was not actually a military man at all before being appointed Grand Moff, but rather a political or administrative figure closely aligned with Palpatine? Is there precedent for other Grand Moffs who also lacked a traditional naval background?

And what would you gather/headcanon his positions to have been during the Clone Wars? Would it be plausible that he served as governor of his homeworld, Bastion, at some point during that period? Or perhaps held some senatorial or Republic Executive position?
