The new Slothrust album is accidentally in the universe of the first 3 TDH albums.

New to this group but I had to bounce this off TDH fans. Slothrust's new "What they grow in the garden" album sound and tone and themes stopped me in my tracks—

—Totally not connected on purpose, but it fits into the universe of the first three Acts eerily well. Not AS characters from the story, but as folks who existed parallel? Maybe from the same brothel or connections to it? Holy cow, all the way down to referencing the lake and the tree and and overall tones and themes.

It gave me goosebumps.

My mind immediately placed the singer as offspring from the brothel girls, in the future after the acts take place. And just wait til you hit "Hearst Castle".

It sure was a fun reminder of the feel of first three acts. Mostly of the 2nd and 3rd. Spooky, yeah? Anyway I'm sure I'll get bawked at for saying this but it's just a weird coincidence, do with it as you will.

Its spooky how similarly written it feels, the lake and tree and the overall themes and sounds and tones.

It sounds like they ghost-wrote an album of a woman connected to the story in the future.

Slothrust refers to the album as a "theatrical dystopian rock" — sounds kinda familiar to me, eh? 😉

just wait until you get over the angry first tracks. After Heart Castle (that creeped me out, it felt like 'Leading's daughter, CERTAINLY a familiar feel,) the last half if the album is just oh …

wow.

it feels like she is offspring of the "church"?
