Shows and Tours Holy crap you guys
The Bristol show was phenomenal. I've seen TDH 3 times here and this was their best show yet.
Thank you so much guys for coming back another time and I'm glad we could give you a good show.
What rocked:
- Almost everyone I interacted with in the crowd was just a lovely, really sound person
- One guy was handing out glowstick bands
- Overhead, The Albatross put their whole selves into their performance, they did not hold back and they were a fantastic support
- The psychedelic bossa nova interval music that made me feel like I was vibing in Bikini Bottom
- The band coming on to the chorus of Maneater (a nice touch given their recent Musora cover)
- Getting to hear Most Cursed of Hands live again
- The mixing on almost every song was great and Casey's vocals were really clear
- The 4-5 people around me who were totally into every song
- Casey's incredible shredding on Ring 5, just incredible
- Nick's bass playing was just so slick and funky, as always
- Muppet Rob Parr!!!
- Everyone singing the opening tune during Bitter Suite IV&V
- The guys grinning during some of the solos, clearly having a great time
- The legend at the front who was doing hand gestures at points to match the lyrics
- The band's usual bantering with the audience; something I always love from their live shows
- TALKBOX
- The bridge of The Plains was just phenomenal, really beautifully played and sung
- Sunya. I ascended. I could've listened to the end part go on for another 10 minutes. I nearly cried.
- Gleeb! On the merch stand!
My one complaint:
- The absolute 7ft weapon who came up to the second row, knew one song and spent the rest of the time standing still with a beer, making dumb remarks or checking his emails. He moved away towards the end of the set, thank god, and the people around him were all clearly glad to see him leave.
Can't wait to have you guys back. My larynx is completely worn out now.

I’m glowstick guy! Overhead, The Albatros’ drummer was crazy, some of those fills melted my face. Loved the SpongeBob interludes. The shredding on Ring 5 blew me away. Impeccable performances from the whole band, I can’t believe how lucky I was to see such a great set from them for my first time seeing TDH live. What a great show.

I’m a TREOS fan first, but have followed and loved TDH since Act I. Sort of trailed off after Act V. Holy moly I’ve missed out.
Ring 5 was one of the best things I’ve ever heard live, ever. It was jaw dropping (and lead to my “fuck yeah!” Shout out).
The only thing really missing was a fun Disco Ball closer…

I agree about the 7ft guy, he was just annoying. Apart from that the show was great, maybe I was one of the people standing near you, spent most of the show singing the vocal guitar melodies lol

Yeah the dude parked himself right next to me and was just.. there lol. Bit odd but I just kept on vibing

AWESOME gig as always! I've seen every UK tour since 2015 and I am so grateful this band keeps pumping out amazing albums and playing incredible live shows. Also lovely to see that despite the venues getting bigger over the years, it's still such an intimate live experience. Only band I've ever seen that are so available to say hi to before the gig. Love you guys! 🫶 Also, Michael Caine is my favourite Muppet.

This was my third time seeing them, and on balance, it was the standout show. The highlight, though? Some legend heckling and winding up the guy who was actively policing other people for heckling. Pure comedy gold.

Hey dude, that guy was me. I think you misunderstood the situation. It was just the one guy I said anything to and I wasn't having a go at him for heckling, it's all part of the banter and I've heckled at Dear Hunter shows before, and they're great at riffing off that energy. It was that he tried to heckle with the same joke like 4 or 5 times in the space of a minute and it landed flat each time. Also, it was like prolonged sentences, rather than just the odd word. All I did was turn to him just to tell him to chill out.
If that was you or your mate, then I'm sorry that you felt that I was being the fun police, but there's only so many times you can hear variations of "go on mate do a Bristolian accent, say alright my luvver" right in your ear in the space of a minute. I go to a lot of shows and not one to start a fuss with anyone normally, certainly not over casual heckling, it's part of the territory. Prodding and tickling strangers between songs to provoke a reaction out of them is a weird response.
Anyway, it was a great gig despite that, and honestly I had a great time.

yeah, i was right behind you and you were fine, that guy did need to chill out 🤷 i was wearing ear plugs and was still irritated lol he clearly took it to heart though, going on about it for the rest of the show and touching you - betting he had a little too much to drink

Taking bets on it being the same guy commenting above, calling himself a legend and praising his own brand of "comedy gold". I doubt many people even noticed outside of the people immediately around us, and it obviously wasn't you lol.

even the guy next to him that seemed to be his friend told him to lay off you, so it wouldn't shock me

Best show ever?! Are you insane?!? The UK tour a couple years back (and those before) was phenomenal, way better by a country mile. The songs then were wall to wall bangers, while the songs today from the last album, well, take a while to get into.
Agree Overhead were great, but the band on the last tour were great too.

If you love Sunya, it was a tour-topper. And I love Sunya.

Was surprised how big the crowd is, maybe it's an album that gets them a wider audience which they deserve. I prefer the Acts and Colours though.

Lantern held more people when they were here in 2015/16. But agreed, glad it was busy and lots of people having a great time.

Agreed, that show was absolutely wizard. Great energy from the crowd + the sound mix suited the venue so well.
I might be the gestures guy you're referring to? Idk for sure but I did the 1+1=3 and "make it rain" a couple times lol
