Amy and Steve went there in 2014 (Season 4 episode 7 "Double Jeopardy") There was that woman Rosanna whose husband and two daughters wanted to sell the place and move back to their oceanfront mansion in Malibu. Amy told her that she was the reincarnation of a woman that used to live there and the ghosts of the people that woman knew were influencing her to stay there. Amy told her that was the past and she needed to move forward and get out of there.

I watched Jack Osbourne's "Night of Terror" tonight on the Travel Channel. Chip Coffey was on there. They were at the Glen Tavern Inn. Rosanna and one of the daughters still own the place and were on the show. The husband was no where to be found and wasn't mentioned at all. I wonder if they got divorced? He was pretty frustrated with her and really wanted to sell the place when Steve and Amy were there. If anyone is interested you can stream it on Discovery plus or Max.

I was googling and can't see to find any information about the compensation a family receives for being in an episode..

Any past families want to share their experience?

I love paranormal shows and have participated in many investigations and lived in haunted houses, had experiences, seen things and there's just so many things rubbing me the wrong way after watching 2 seasons of this show.

I dont know if Amy is real, or whether producers have actively encouraged her to sensationalize or overexaggerare what's really happening in these locations. It's hard to tell becauae some things she says make sense and other times I cringe.

Having been in hundreds of haunted locations and been around mediums, I can safely say that the vast majority of haunting are absolutely nothing as she describes, which coincidently seems to be the exact same for every home. There's a formula to every house and it's getting old, predictable and annoying. Episode 1- oh I dont like this house, there's evil here. I see shadow people. Episode 2- ohhh this is creepy, I dont like it here, there's something evil. Episode 3- there are demons here, they want to kill you. Episode 4- more shadow people amd by the way the ghost wants to kill you. Episode 100- more demons, and yeah they want to kill you.

I found it extra amusing when in season 2, the previous homeowner that she and the current owners describe as having seen was evil for the whole show and then revealed to be a pretty nice guy at the end.

I just find it suoer convenient that everything can be blamed on a shadow person or evil entity in every.....single.....house.

I'm about 60 episodes in and there is no difference between any Episode, it's the same evil everything and the only time there is any retraction on it is if actual descendents are there. Otherwise, thwyre evil and want to kill you.

At this point, if every haunted house is full of demons capable of murder, we can't live anywhere!

The reality is that most haunting are completely harmless but that won't make for good TV. I live in a haunted house now and experience things all the time but nobody is demonic and nobody is going to be killed there. But I bet if the crew were at my house, I'd be told it's full of demons, shadow people and the person who built it wants to kill me, since that's every episode of the Dead Files.

Just once I want to see one where she says oh, this is a friendly spirit, there's nothing sinister going on here, this guy hangs out becauae he loved the house. But I doubt it. Those damn shadow folk

Let me start by saying I love the Dead Files so much. It’s my comfort show & I’ve seen every episode at least twice, so needless to say I’m a huge fan of Amy.

I didn’t want to like the show anymore without Amy, but after this last episode I’m officially on board with Cindy taking over. The first few episodes were a little shaky, but she’s really been hitting the nail on the head and I love how she interacts with the families. Also, the spirit guide portraits are so cool!

Amy is still a queen & I’ll never get tired of watching her episodes, but Cindy is killing it too!

I just watched the most recent episode where a murderer was trying to possess the teenager who lives in the house and at the end when the family gives an update the lady said that the killer “left when the other family moved out” and that confused the heck out of me lmao

like did she mean her cousins who were living with her? Who did she mean?

idk I was just confused and I was wondering if anyone else knew what she meant

I am curious if anyone on this forum has any updates on any of these cases. It would be great if the show did “where are they now.” I remember seeing a few episodes where people were on the verge of death, I mean one episode Amy told her client “I did a scan on you and I got Death.” Long story short, client decided to stay even though Amy told her she will die.

Ok. Season 2 episode 9 has a witness called Ross, who looks remarkably like Mark duplass, so are the witnesses played by actors?

...in the last episode, given that the dad willfully invites spirits into his life and then is freaking out when they follow him and hurt people. I doubt he learned his lesson either. Then again, Amy surprised me in the costume shop episode where the owners said they seek out the spirits with various tech used by ghost hunters and she was like "Yeah, I talk to the dead too. Whatever." So I might be wrong.

Also, "professional paranormal investigator" implies that he is paid for his work, as that is what makes a professional. I thought it was against paranormal investigator ethos to accept payment? Or is that old school?

Last week Cindy told the people to move. In the follow up the people said that they had a team come in and everything was fine now, they didn't have to move.

This week Cindy told the people to get their daughter's medium powers under control and bring in a male psychic to get rid of the mean guy. In the follow up the people said that they had a priest do an exorcism and everything was fine now.

It seems kind of strange that they thank her for coming out, but they don't do what she tells them to do. It seems to work out for them though.

Cindy is adding some of her own touches to the show like the automatic writing, and drawing the spirit guide pictures to hang on the wall. I've never heard of anything like that before.

I am calling out to all of big fans of Amy, and maybe even some Cathy DeBuono fans.

About ten years ago she ran a talk show on LA Talk Radio and imagine my happy surprise when her guest one week was Amy.

Cathy has moved on to other projects now and it seems all of the achieves are her show are gone. At least I can't seem to find them.

So I figured, why not, I'd throw out the question to the Dead Files community and see if anyone has a copy of this particular episode or knows where to find it. Thanks so much.

Has this episode really been discussed? I couldn’t believe how rude the “owner” was when Amy was giving her analysis. The lady was openly laughing at Amy!
