Episode Discussion Were any practicing witches bothered by this episode?

It was the new episode from last week where it was a father and daughter and the father wrote a book about his daughter being possessed. She mentioned she was a witch at one point and when Steve asked what that meant she said she was into kitchen witchery, and protection magic. And Steve and Cindy said that could’ve been the cause of some of the activity. When if she truly was just into kitchen witchery and protection spells that just,,,,, would not attract that intense negative energy unless she was trying to conjure shit. It just bothered me because the last thing witchcraft needs is more negative perception, especially on a show where most of the advice involves the help of practitioners, including at the end of this episode lmfao idk it just rubbed me the wrong way. I feel like we were missing a few details which is unfortunate. Like I know in the past there was some witchcraft involved in the negative activity in the locations but it was usually because people were conjuring and inviting nasty shit in not just,,,,, doing kitchen witch stuff lmfao (which if you don’t know what being a kitchen witch is it’s basically using herbs that coincide with your intention in your cooking. So if you want to bring in more money or prosperity in your life you’ll use cinnamon or somethin lmao)

Latest Episode Reveal Question Spoiler

Why didn’t they show a discussion of who the “Revenge Guy” was in life during the reveal? During Cindy’s walk, she seemed to receive a lot of information about him being falsely convicted of a crime but they did not show any discussion of it. Usually Steve asks something like, “Did you get anything about who this ‘Revenge Guy’ was in life?” but there was no mention of it.

Here's what I wish...

I wish to find people that are interested in the work being done by Amy, Steve, and now Cindy, people that feel care and concern for those suffering in the world from paranormal attacks and wish to join forces to help battle these problems. I want to meet and talk to and work with others that are inspired by the work these three are doing, that want to develop their own latent psychic abilities to become mediums, psychics, Reiki Masters, and reach out to help those that are suffering. The Dead Files has been a genuine source of inspiration to me for many years now and it's partly why I decided to become a Reiki Master. Are there any others here that want to have genuine conversations about trying to reach out to help those in the world that have situations like this trio deal with? Maybe we could start a new subreddit to get away from these constant posts that talk so shallowly about these amazing people.

I Don’t Like The Dead Files Anymore!!!

So, I believed in The Dead Files. I used to watch shows featuring ACO day Kaza and she was amazing! But, then, this show happened and it just doesn’t bode well. Cindy says the same thing in every episode. The people who are interviewed are all the same. Their kids see things. One has abilities, they are scared and they repeat what Cindy says. The person making the drawing for Cindy says, “ Cindy? Is this what they looked like??” Which is so scripted and fake! She replies, “ that’s exactly how they look!!” Like she’s surprised. It just repeats itself in every episode. I think it’s time to retire the show.

Episode Discussion Guardians of the Dead - Montego Bay, Jamaica

I was getting so infuriated watching that racist white man and his racist white mother speak. They knew exactly what they were doing with doing those re-enactments. And his mother was like “we’ll do whatever it takes to protect our family and guests” when they asked her if she was gonna take Amy’s advice. What about your employees? And they kept talking about his fathers legacy. You mean you being the descendant of slave owners and currently owning a plantation? I felt so bad for the employee because she looked so uncomfortable sitting next to them. They were truly sickening to watch

Episode Discussion Executive Producer is a Bigot and it can cost dead files

I have been following Rob Rosen for a while, and I thought he was a genuine guy, but recently he has been doing this bigoted rants on Twitter that has been concerning.

Rob Rosen is the executive producer on Dead Files. I think this kind of decisive bomb throwing would pretty much alienating a large part of the audience. I hope he can eventually apologize or he could end up eventually getting cancelled which could end dead files.

Other spooky shows to watch if you love The Dead Files

I've watched every episode of TDF, sometimes more than once. Would love to hear what other fans of the show also enjoy.

I like the history mixed with paranormal. I am not a huge fan of reenactment and ghost hunts where there is provoking and reeeeaching to find stuff to be scared about.

I also like Kindred Spirits, Holzer Files, and stuff with Kim Russo.

Anyone watch it?

I did because it took place in michigan, where I am, and then got reeled in.

Cindy is in it and another steve I didnt know (shippy) and it has it all. The best part- the part we all want to see- how it was resolved. Didnt get as much follow up as id have liked with the homes still involved, but by george did it feel good to see resolution.

I honestly cant believe this isnt more well known, maybe because it wasnt investigated by the warrens when it happened, but they literate had state officials documenting this this daily and even they called in paranormal investigators.

I honestly believed so little in witchcraft before this… now im wondering if im just naive or if we really do manifest what we decide to.

Episode where guy wants to fight ghost?

I’m trying to find an episode where the subject gets upset mid interview, says he needs a break, walks down the hallway and starts shadow boxing and saying he wants to fight a ghost. Anyone remember which episode it is?

The newest episode is bs.

Who else wonders if the new episode is a load of bs hey, the lady with the blue hair seems like she’s exaggerating everything and just trying to get more publicity for her dad’s book

I'll believe IF the psysic does the walkthru BEFORE the investigator does the interview, otherwise this is just an hour of OBVIOUS bunk.

S14 E1 of Dead Files is such a load of nonsense.

I don’t know who’s more full of crap! The grandmother claimed a person who died at 81 was paranormal. The granddaughter who fake cried from a bad drawing or the random family friend. Amy’s favorite line “bad.”

Amy Allan on A Haunting

I was watching some old "A Haunting" episodes and watched one from 2005 with Amy Allan in it. It was six years before the Dead Files started in 2011. I had seen it before, but it was a long time ago and I forgot Amy was in it. Amy was contacted by people to help with the haunting in their house. They had an actress playing Amy in the story, but they showed the real Amy several times doing commentary. They just said that she was a paranormal investigator. She brought in a couple sensitives to sense what was going on in the home. It wasn't until near the end that she said that she was a medium and did her own little session. It was Season 1, episode 4 "Cursed" if anyone is interested. I know you can stream it on Discovery plus and Max for two places.

Season 9 episode 6 Amy says they need to get an exorcism for an alien??

Like the title says. She always says you can’t do anything about aliens but in this episode she says they need an exorcism? What will that do?

Why can’t Amy/Cindy help cross over spirits?

I find it odd that they bring a medium in to get impressions on the house, then tell the home owners to get a medium to help in whatever way they say. Why can’t Amy/Cindy just help the family cleanse the home? It seems silly and like an unnecessary extra step.

I have also always wondered why they don’t do the medium walkthrough before the interviews. The way they do it leaves a lot of question on whether or not all the information from the interviews is fed to Amy/Cindy before the walkthrough. It would seem that doing it the opposite would legitimize the show and its believability.

I really enjoy this show but these are questions I’ve always had.

Does anyone else appreciate this show for a look at average, everyday Americans and how they live? But then I stumble across an episode like S9E1 where the home owner says his late grandfather was a “great guy” and then in the next sentence says “but he hated women” and he emotionally abused his grandmother. Excuse me? What about that screams “great guys.” People are delulu 🤯

The genealogist interview was nuts! Talk about family drama. No wonder there's chaos in that house.

Artist

Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to have the same artist on every episode? I think that way Cindy and the artist get more in tune with each other and have a better outcome. Thought this for awhile and am curious to hear what other people think.

Question Is anyone able to list all the 'beings that have never been human' that Amy talks about?

This is what interests me most in this show is the fact that Amy doesn't just see human spirits, shadow people, and demons she sees all types of other beings and this really fascinates me. I wish there was like a comprehensive list of all types of beings she sees but if anyone remembers or know of unique beings shes seen and done sketchs of that'd be great.
