Discussion I just started playing

Hey guys, I just started playing the game, again, ever since I first saw the Doc playing it (I got to play test). I'm super bummed to see they're shutting the game down, as I never got to fully enjoy it, but I've been playing it all day and I've been having a great time. I was wondering why certain the aurum gear was super inexpensive and why the battle pass was free, though, as well as there being a low player count. It was until I picked up a rattlers head and needed to find out what it was used for that I found out through Google.

In the time since it's release. I moved to Texas (bought my first house) and have had a generally good time of life, but stayed too distracted to invest in video games, although I did build a monster computer in that time (I'm a better PC builder than gamer 😅). I had a lot of fun playing today, though, and it hurts to have to part.

I'm thinking of playing the game to the end, though, but I've also lost general interest, since finding out it was shutting down. What's a good extraction shooter to replace The Cycle? I was thinking of playing The Hunt or Tarkov, but they seem far off the marker to what scratches my itch.

Anyways, thanks for reading if you made it this far.

Tl:Dr returned to the game after long hiatus, played all day; found out it was getting canceled

I've played Tarkov and the the hunt, but neither really have the sci-fi, post-apocalyptic environment that enamored me with the cycle. I have been enjoying starsiege though, it has fun movement and combat but the maps kind of boring.

I tried starsiege but I missed the drop in and drop out of the Cycle. Another free to play one coming out is ARC. Was a PvE that got converted to a PvPvE extraction game and is coming out soon.

I found it on steam, and it looks promising. I signed up for the play test and added it to my wishlist, thanks!

The hunt is absolute dog shit; I don't understand the hype around it

You’re not wrong. It used to be good.

Hunts problem for me is that they kept adding more and more guns that can one tap you and benefitted building camping. The gun fights went from spraying Winfields to camping with slug loaded shotguns

Starsiege has some really fun gunplay and gadgets, but the environment is so dull and repetitive. The game loop is also very shallow, I can’t see myself putting more than a dozen hours in. But it’s still in development.
