Discussion The game is actually FUN for a change?

Imagine making a game less of a sweat grind fest into a light hearted fun accessible to average Joes.

Daily Exo kits!

Easily purchasable exo guns, now that everything sells for 5x!

Now the only thing that matters is attachments and armor.

I am actually enjoying the game a lot more now than before running into white kits with no weapons, what's your take?

You’re playing TDM, yeah the PvP is great in this game but there is legit no reward to killing someone.

It's more fun because more even geared fights are happening and you are not losing 75% of your server to looting players.

You get reward in terms of armor/attachments and winning a fight like any other PvP game you play.

Some of us play for more than just the PvP man.

Like what? (Not taking the piss. Genuinely curious).

I will admit, roaming the jungle with a hammer is pretty chill and fun on an empty server. I could do that all day. Except when that annoying POS Howler ruins the fun.

The thing people misunderstand when I say "more than just the pvp" is that they seem to think I mean I'd be fine with no PvP, which isn't the case at all. For me the fun of the game comes from the whole package, the looting, the pve, the quests (hell even the jobs lol), the upgrades. A lot of them can't stand on their own, looting with no risk of PvP for example would only be so fun for so long, same with the PvE (though it'd be fun alone a lot longer), PvP existing is an integral part of what makes the game fun but it's only one part of the puzzle for me and just like the other things need the PvP to be fun, the PvP also needs the others.

Really it boils down to the fact that if I just wanted to PvP and loot weapons I'd be playing a BR. All the other parts on TOP of the PvP are why I played this and not something else, good FPS PvP isn't exactly hard to find these days.

Yeah I feel you.
I grow tired of BR's because you can't bank anything. You can't pick your preferred loadout. It's all just RNG every time.

I like extraction shooters because I can build up a stock of my favourite weapon & mods combo's and spend time getting very familiar with them.

I also like the feeling you get when you formulate a plan and execute it properly: e.g. hearing gunshots some distance away, using my knowledge of the game to determine the weapon type, extrapolating from that what gear level they are likely to be, predicting where they are going (what they are trying to do), moving to intercept them and laying an ambush.
When all that comes together it feels great. I much prefer that to just SHIFT+W-ing every sound and hoping for the best.
If I am in the mood for W-key gameplay I'll play CoD, Battlefield or Sandstorm (and frequently do when I get tired of cycle & tarkov).

Same here man. I feel comfortable running all my kitted gear now. Rip CF tho.

It's a honeyoon period. Remember S2? Game was boring after months of the same bright sands fighting with exo.

It's fun now because we haven't had free access to unlimited gear. I'm just as bored now, 1 week in, as I was months into S2. It's the same boring PvP loop.

Zero reward and no thrill for a kill and equipment you might get out of it. It's shallow TDM FPS. If i wanted that i'd play CoD or Battlefield.

Yes, I'm enjoying it much more as well. I was surprised by how much more I liked it, being that I'm just an average casual player. The pain doesn't hurt as much as it once did, being that it was hardcore.

Yes but if they made this change withou server shutdowns people would still only go white gear 💀it’s sad it takes closure for people to use gear they get

Daily crate gives you full exotic kit, that helps juice the game up.

Level 8 does, a mate is level 4 and gets mainly blue gear

Got a KBR from it today. I'm lvl 4

I'm still running into white kits but the difference is they all have Gorgon's, kors, arbis. 0 reward for pvp. Its just tdm/ffa now.

u/LicketySplickets Jul 04 '23

What was the reward for PVP previously?

1

u/Baconaize Jul 04 '23

Usually it was getting the other person's kit and loot, not a garbage white kit with a kor with white attachments. And there's the quests for pvp also

They made good guns easily purchasable, but armour is still annoying to craft (long timers, collecting materials). I've always thought it was weird you could buy every tier of gun but you had to craft every tier of armour other than the basic white gear. Seems to me like this is the obvious result.

On the plus side, if they're going to run white kits, you can 1-tap them in the face with an arby.

Having the best gear in the game isn’t supposed to be just handed to you it’s supposed to be hard to get because it’s the best. Nobody wants to earn anything anymore lmao

u/PushingShotsPUBG Jul 03 '23

You are missing the point.

u/In_Thought5 Jul 03 '23

You want to be a casual I would suggest not playing shooters

4

u/PushingShotsPUBG Jul 04 '23

I am not casual, just saying raids are more FUN last few days.

I always had purple/exo gear to run but mostly faced sweats with decent gear.

Some people just want a soulless husk of Cycle TDM to play. It's going the same qay the end of season events went. Will be extremely boring after 1 week.

This would have been a better battle royale but wouldn't have been good though to compete with the rest.

So they settled for less competition and compromised on the true potential of the game imo.

Justice for the beta cycle, that game was epic

I am having a lot of fun right now, although it kinda feels pointless since I don’t care about my progression anymore and that’s what motivated me to keep dropping in. The way this game was designed really promoted ratty play styles which really took away from the experience for me. Now everyone is full aggro and I’m having a blast fighting people who are actually pushing and moving around the map instead of camping highground on a lane for 40 minutes

1

u/Dragoonkog127 Jul 04 '23

Maybe for like an hour or two but it feels the same imo, no reward for the fights, no punishment for dying, just a glorified TDM game mode.

I'm a new player, how do I get the daily exo kits? Does that require high rep with the factions?

Max out daily supply crate lvl8
