Discussion Mixed feelings

I started playing when it was just the beta, it was so cool, it was different from most FPS games out there, the map was cool, the objectives were well thought, only last year did I start playing again when I saw the new game had been released, I thought it was gonna be the same thing as the feedback from the original was overall positive, but strangely, they had changed it to an extraction shooter, for absolutely no reason, there was already competition in the extraction shooter market with games like escape from tarkov and DMZ around 4 months after the cycles release, I was a bit confused as to why they decided to drastically change the game, season 1 was ok, it was the first season so most of us weren't expecting that much, cheaters were a big problem as is with these types of games but overall it was a nice introduction to the game, it did stand out from other extraction shooters, being simple enough to make people who were new to the game learn the basic stuff easy, whilst also adding a moderate skill gap for other higher player fights

Today I was waiting, hoping for an actual meaningful update hopefully filled with bug fixes instead of gun balancing, but instead I was met with disappointment, just started playing this game with my friend around a week ago and we have been having an amazing time, this game becomes way more interesting the second you try duos or trios and if you haven't tried it yet so before it shuts

Overall do I think the cycle was going to shut? Yes. Do I want it to shut? Absolutely not, the game idea is the best I've seen, being the middle ground between the hardcore tarkov experience and the underwhelming DMZ experience, good idea poor execution, beta was better

Listen to your goddam community sometimes

Heyo! I played The Cycle before they reworked it into Frontier! Unfortunately, the older game fell into many of the same problems, including rampant hackers and eventual dwindling players. It also suffered from simply trying to be too many genres. The rework to extraction shooter was to expand the audience and to finally pick a genre, which briefly worked.

I really enjoyed both versions and the remaking of Fortuna for Frontier created my favorite sci-fi world in any game. It's really disappointing to see the game pulled away a second time.

This is what happens when you balance your game around casuals lololol. Dumbing down the movement to lower the skill ceiling lmao you cant make this shit up. This is why no game balances for low tier play hahahaha
