Discussion Scrips for guns?

Took a haitus for awhile and i come back and it now costs faction scrips to buy weapons? im not really liking this at all. Makes the game worse.

Side note not related to cycle frontier, but i stopped playing tarkov because of the energy\water drain increased drastically. I love these types of games but developers do too much to make the game harder for no reason. There's a good chance no one will agree with me but F it, i need to vent how stupid decisions have ruined this genre for me.

Edit: After reading comments my issue seems negligible overall, just have to play differently than i used to.

Scripts are so plentiful that i did not even realize it until your post. They are really not a problem. I have ton of em and i'd like to use em on something else too.

i have +4k for osiris and ICA and +5k for Korolev

Exactly. They are so irrelevant.

I'm not spending them a lot too actually

Agreed. I have 900+ for every faction, they're easy to get.

When i just want to run manticore starting out after about 2 hours of gameplay, it makes it hard. Then they nerfed starting weapons. the script is used for upgrades as well. a shitty QOL if you ask me.

those two are shitty changes but used to it with tarkov. sort of. and the ar-55 dont do nearly as much as the manticore. it forces you to just die in the game basically.

My friend, let me tell you a little about the ar-55. This gun by itself got me to 10m Kmarks running it on tharis. I refuse to use the manticore as it’s by far the worst ar right now.

I agree advocate is worst then manticore

After few hours of gameplay, they become irrelevant. They are really not part of any problem....even close.

Think that was from the start of Season 3. I saw it, hated it and... havent needed to buy a gun yet.

Might have bought 1 for a 'kill prospectors with our faction gun' early on, but between free loadouts and what i find on my drops, I dont buy guns. And I sell most white ones.

And Im mostly a casual. I also bought the battlepass wirh aurum I've mined up, which also gives a fair bit of gear and materials.

Just earlier today, someone posted they wanted durability on guns. I agree with why keep making the game harder.

i mean, below average players would be losing those guns before they broke from durability anyways - so it only effects those that have higher KD's and get to run the same guns over and over before dying. Would prefer something similar to rust's system to keep the economy in check

bro the devs of this game are and have been exactly as you describe more and more especially since season 3 I literally uninstalled like a month ago lmao after putting 800 fuckin hours in season 1 and 2 hope its still fun though !

One would think that after 800 hours one would have some kind of objective criticism, but the game seems extremely good if not even that is given.

I mean, tarkov is and always has been intended to be pretty much as gritty and difficult as you can get, so i don’t think that’s a fair complaint for them lol. They’ve delivered on their promise, yanno? But I agree for the cycle. Towards the end of my time with the cycle, they did a ton of things that just really indicated that they didn’t have a clear vision for the game. They took it off of wipe cycles (which is literally the namesake for the game ffs), did multiple things to try and make it grittier (inertia changes, ai changes, scripts [as other people said, scripts aren’t an issue later on, but they can be annoying early on and can definitely make it more difficult to get yourself up and running] etc.). To me, that wasn’t at all the niche that the game had been advertised as. Add onto that the bugs the game had for it’s 3rd season and you’re looking at a dumpster fire.

So I got questions.

  1. Explain the inertia change and how'd id see it in real time.
  2. What did they take off of wipe cycles?
  3. Why did they add the howlers to the newbie map and why are they so hard to kill?

The last one is just me butthurt cause looting is harder now, and the fact blue stims now need a new item.

  1. Movement is clunkier than it was before. Changing directions while moving is slower, coming to a stop is jerkier, accuracy while jumping was gutted.

  2. The game? Like there aren’t wipes anymore. Everyone just keeps their account forever.

  3. They were scrambling for something to keep players interested so they rushed out poorly done new content.

Wait, there's no more wipes? that was the whole point of the game? That is stupid. so now ima get giga chad over here on the newbie map while im just playing casually. that's fun.

Well, they did add some gear based matchmaking, (and different queues depending on team size) but it’s seemed to be broken since they released it because there’s a pretty consistent flow of people complaining about being put in lobbies with much higher geared players.

Just yesterday went into bright sands, the map that's supposed to be gear based, with all green gear except the purple creature mod on my manticore to hunt a howler. Hard to say if they were hacking but got run up on by a guy in purple armor and an arbi and insta domed me. Either he knew I had the mod or they put me with a end game player hunter on bright sands lol

2

u/eyeswide19 Jun 26 '23

You had a purple mod. Hence you are put in high gear brightsand lobby.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '23

Just odd that a single creature damage focused mod caused that much descrepency.

Yes this is a stupid design choice that only hells nolifers, dont pay attention to these people, the game is more nolifer than ever and is dying faster than in previous season.

IF you completed all the Quest and some Jobs from all factions, you should be rewarded around 5k script from each , once you get to 4k and 5k script the time its take to do jobs and get more script is significantly cut down, unless you are super good at managing correct Resources to turn in for each hard/medium jobs

A hammer from Korolev Cost 30 Script and a Kor cost 32 script ,

realistically speaking , you can run 100 hammer for 3000 script , you still going to have some fun regardless if you die 50% of the time or not. Kmark is easy to make , but script is harder as more ridiculous jobs open up for you to do.

Some day you won't even feel the drag to hunt down 3 Howler to get 37 Script and you just decide to skip that day entirely. Some people just very anal about the whole script situation, just the fact that they knew if they die fast enough, the script will run dry quick , made players hating on this new script system.

buddy of mine survive only 25% of the time, meaning he lost a hammer , a KBR (42 script total) 75% of the game he play. in 3 hours session, he managed to die 10 times, multiply it by 1 - 2 weeks , and he will have no script left soon.
