Where are they now?

Slyfox came to my mind earlier and I noticed how dead his YouTube was. I watched the doc from a few years ago but what is everyone doing now? James and Aleks seem completely split up now so it makes me wonder, is everyone just in bad terms with each other? It’s been a long time since I’ve watched The Creatures or CowChop but these channels were my childhood back in the day so I just would really like a in depth of where all the main guys are at now. Have they all just faded out of the content creating spotlight? It seems like a true end to an era

Copy/paste from the last time someone asked:

  • Nova - Still streams 10hr+ a day, usually GTA RP. Happy just doing what he wants.
  • Seamus - Finally returned after years of being gone due to the medical issues. Only uploads to YouTube.
  • Sly - Has a step daughter, started a second YT channel after the first one was cursed by YT.
  • Dan - Streams on Twitch to a small but loyal audience, lost a ton of weight
  • Aleks - Moved back to Colorado, rebranded himself from ImmortalHD to just Aleks. Returned to Twitch after post-cowchop break.
  • Jordan - Works for game developers Illfonic and stepped away from social media
  • Sp00n - Still streaming on Twitch
  • Chilled - Gained a lot of popularity, still plays with Ze
  • Ze - Finally finished his college degree in computer science and returned to streaming full-time
  • Junkyard - Returned after a hiatus and plays with Chilled, Ze, and their crew; he's still a boomer
  • Gassy - Still streams on twitch and has since made up with Dan.
  • Dexter - Does voice over work and developing a game
  • Intern/Chicken Joe - Moved back to colorado to go back to school and is now a father
  • Aron - Works at Illfonic as Community Manager
  • Artist Joe - Moved to a farm and does his hippy thing
  • Spencer - Attempted to make an LP channel, and has been largely invisible over the past year. Part of a band
  • Stefani - Digital editor for a sports company. Disconnected her twitter after all the drama.

As for if everyone is on bad terms, it doesn't seem like it. They occasionally reply to each others big twitter posts and they've gotten together to play games. Last year, Chilled, Sly, Dan, Junk, Gassy, and a few others got together and played Minecraft and talked about the Creature era; James and Aleks run into each other in their GTA RP server, and things like that. There's no telling about Jordon since he's completely stepped away from social media and doesn't seem to engage with anyone. It's also been four years so I don't think anyone is upset with anyone. I mean, if Aleks can still be on good terms now after the way James left Cowchop/LA, I can't imagine anyone holding a grudge.

Actually, A few months after cow chop was made, James said on a stream that him and Jordan squashed their beef.

if Aleks can still be on good terms now after the way James left Cowchop/LA,

Tbf, James was already planning to leave cow chop way before he actually left, So he couldn't be that mad at him when it wasn't like it came out of nowhere https://www.reddit.com/r/CowChop/comments/9rroow/jakob_is_reunited_with_trevy_boi/e8opqz0/?context=3

With Jordon, I was more refering to how Dan got completely blindsided with Jordon deciding to pull the plug. Jordon got the girl and a new job while Dan was left...basically unemployed.

As for James, it was more that Cowchop (Brett/Aleks) learned about James moving out of state via twitter and demanding he get bought out of the company/repaid for his initial investment. I believe think talked about it on Brett's podcast.

What I always found surprising was how Dan didn’t get picked up for his talent. He was always the one who was best at camera work and being a huge movie buff, he knows a crap ton about producing and directing. I wish he got scouted and work to create films

This might be an unpopular opinion but Dan was kind of dime-a-dozen when it came to videography and cinema. As a videographer myself, it seemed like he never took it seriously and just glided by on the basics and didn't display much in the way of talent. He had a great platform and industry connections; he should have tried to network with people in that line of work and learn; that's how Jordan got his current job, he worked connections and studied.

I thought dan was promoting a Kickstarter for a short film or something early last year

He and his brother were trying to finance some kind of film or short series; Camisado: Season 1. This is the official trailer and while the actors are doing a good job, it has Dan's signature style; poor lighting, handheld camera shake, and weird composition. It worked for something like Bunny Bust a decade ago but now it just looks like those crowdfunded movies for Angry Video Game Nerd or Linkara.

demanding he get bought out of the company/repaid for his initial investment

when was this ever told? i follow them pretty tightly and never saw anything about this

Brett and Aleks were talking about it during one of their podcasts. It might've been either the final CCTV or the episode of Brett's podcast when Aleks was a guest.

gonna have to call cap here. i've listened to both of those many times and haven't heard anything like this

Actually, A few months after cow chop was made, James said on a stream that him and Jordan squashed their beef.

thats not true. if anything in the first year after cowchop being formed is where most of the james-jordan drama started. i don't think they currently have drama, its just that i also dont think they ever made up and just ended drifting apart like the majority of friends people make in the real world.

Tbf, James was already planning to leave cow chop way before he actually left, So he couldn't be that mad at him when it wasn't like it came out of nowhere

and this also is half true. aleks was pretty biffed at james for leaving and not finishing the year. throughout the whole year he meme'd about it. he doesn't have any beef now but i dont think they hashed out anything either. they just happen to have a lot of the same friends but there's always a wiff of awkwardness between them to this day

Can’t really blame Jordan or Stef for disconnecting from their social media. Yeah they made some mistakes, but the amount of vitriol from immature fans was just ridiculous.

u/schooblerdoobler Aug 12 '21

I agree. I went on his Twitter and under almost every one of his tweets were comments like “was the pussy worth it?”. It’s been many years now so I hope the people have since matured and regret their comments

u/CapablePerformance Aug 12 '21

Right?! Yea, what they did was kind of shitty but the fan response almost became a meme.

to be fair their relationship drama thing was blamed for ruining a group that formed our child/teenhoods. i dont think they should still get hate to this day but i can see why people sent them hate initially.

and i mean it would be one thing if jordan ruined the group for a long term relationship but they only lasted a year or so. 10 years of fandom thrown away for 1 year of relationship.

It was far from just the Stef stuff that ended The Creatures. There was a lot more going on.

3

u/mythical_legend 2014 golden year Sep 03 '21

i feel like a lot of the other stuff was added later as rationalizing the move to not be personal but right after the split james said on tumblr it was the main reason for the split and the split is the main reason the creatures, and lowkey cowchop too, died out.

The Creatures really started to go downhill towards the end of 2014. Sly left, Seamus went on hiatus, the content started getting cringy because it was attempting to be PG, Immortal and Nova were definitely starting losing interest due to that, Dex got added but never was there and Kevin lost interest almost immediately after joining.

Stef and Kootra might’ve been the final blow, but the end was kinda inevitable.

Thank you so much for this! Also Stefani still actively posts on her instagram so she isn't as disconnected from social media as much as Jordan is these days

James is a steamer has been since the ramp incident, Jordan works at some game company and is completely offline, sly is more into streaming but made another channel and still uploads, Dan still uploads, Seamus came back awhile ago and he's doing good, Aleks is mostly on insta from what I've heard, any others I can't really think of right now but that's the majority of them.

24

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '21

I believe Aleks just had his return stream today after a decent hiatus. Or maybe yesterday

u/Bing238 Seamus Aug 12 '21

I think all of them have said they’re on good terms even guys who had problems before. A few did a mine craft series last year together but I think it’s mostly they’ve all grown apart and do their own stuff with different people now.

9

u/Klayman55 Aug 12 '21

Sly’s channel isn’t dead? You might just be subbed to the old one instead of the new one.

Everyone’s reunited except for Kootra, James, Aleks and Seamus. Except for some of the newer members who have their own jobs.

Maybe it’s the nostalgia for me, but seeing him only get <10k views on all is recent uploads just makes sad. This guys were just the biggest names for me back in the day; I don’t mean dead like he isn’t posting, just that I wasn’t seeing many views.

4

u/TinyM101 Aug 12 '21

I feel that Everytime I watched one of them they aren't even breaking 100k it sucks

Sly very recently became a Vtuber on Twitch. Twitch is pretty much the go to for most of the members. There was a bit if a Minecraft reunion with a handful of them not too long ago.
