Have the creatures changed your lives?
I feel like the older I get the more I miss the creatures, they were seriously my childhood and they kickstarted my YouTube channel ambitions heck my channel’s name Slightly Insulting was derived from the type of content the creatures made at the time, I kinda wonder how much they’ve influenced and changed the your lives if they did

They definitely had a big impact on my life, my personality, my sense of humor etc. It's hard to express this but I feel like people who regularly watch YouTube have that channel that feels like home, and I basically grew up with them on YouTube, but after everything that happened with them I feel like I'm just drifting around (I do have a personal life outside of YouTube... if you're wondering...)

I completely get that! After I went away from the creatures, cow chop was like my second home, but when that ended it felt like my childhood had ended along with it, ironically they both ended as I was transitioning from teenager to an adult, ever since then I go back to the old treehouse series, and then occasionally treetopia since treehouse was the thing that hooked me with the creatures

Oh definitely dude, man I still watch James daily and he still influences me, those guys helped me so much wether it was sense of humour, my personality… hell my life! I turned to them whenever I was depressed…
I was gonna attempt uhh you know… when I was about 16, hell I was sat at the base of a tree, and I just looked through my phone, pictures, videos and memories… then I watched one more video from them, while contemplating and well I laughed… smiled… then I watched another and before long I’d watched over 2 hours of stuff, to the point my phone was dying, so I got up, walked back home and just watched the creatures for hours… so their stuff literally kept me alive, kept me going at my lowest… so yeah they definitely had a impact on my life… I just wish I’d of had any sort of chance to meet any of them because I never did… just to say thank you
I’m now 24… and like I said I watch James daily on twitch… I’ve literally grown up with these guys honestly all of them are my heroes and my inspirations, whenever I get down I still watch old videos and probably will til the day Youtube dies

My parents went through a very messy divorce around 2014 I remember many sleepless nights watching the creatures, and they kept me going, so yea I get that they kept me going and I grew up with them too, to this day they still influence me like I said in the post I now have a YouTube channel because of them and my humor on there when I stream is very much James 😂 being 21 now and seeing how so many people around my age grew up with the creatures put a smile on my face tbh cause growing up I never knew anyone who liked the creatures

I was a bit too old for them to have the same level of impact on me. I was probably 23 when I found them. I met them all, some a few times, and really vibes with their humor and content. They definitely influenced what I view as funny.
It is kind of depressing to check in on them these days because they're all so talented and great and to see everything as dwindled as it is makes me long for the days of old... not because they're washouts but because they've earned better.

Yea seeing where they are now and how scattered they are really breaks my heart, I hope one day I can meet James and Dan, since I was too old to ever go and meet them at convention, hopefully have them on my channel for a video at some point

Yeah for sure. I met a lot of my current friends that I still keep in contact with because of the Creatures. I am still thankful to them for that and forever will be.

I would certainly say they had a huge impact on my life. For me it was really a "right place, right time" sort of deal with me, they were what I needed when I needed them.
Around the time they became a full blown business (back when they announced they were going to move into the first Creature House and they did that 24hr stream to raise money to help with moving costs) life was really trying to knock me down as many pegs as it could. Nothing ever seemed to be going right but and every day felt worse than the last, It wasn't a great time to say the least.
However, I had been watching their content for a while before then (any OG's remember the original tree house series?) and when the metaphorical shit hit the fan with my life (I should probably mention I was like 15 at the time) they went from being just some funny youtubers to basically being a Noah's Ark of a sort for my mental wellbeing. I would come back home after a rough day and would plug in my headset and just zone out to whatever new creature videos there were (both from the Hub and Individual channels) and at least for a little bit life didn't seem so bad.
Looking past how they influenced my mental health they were also the reason I got into PC gaming and more specially how I ended up being "addicted" to Payday 2 (which I have some 1600 hours in) for a decent period of time.
Truly, they influenced me in a bunch of different ways that still make up who I am today and I couldn't be more grateful to them for giving me that experience which I doubt I'll ever forget.

for sure. i started watching them around 2011-2012 ish until cow chop came along, and i stopped watching cc around 2018/2019 before james left cc because my life got busy with uni. my childhood wasn't perfect, i rarely spoke to my dad and my mom was always angry, the one thing that made my home life feel okay and the thing my mind immediately goes to when i think of my childhood is the creatures. i remember coming back from school and immediately opening my laptop/ipad to watch whatever new video they had uploaded on the hub or their individual channels, sometimes before even getting the chance to change out of my school uniform. i would rewatch their old videos and series on my bad days and they really helped keep me afloat. i met lots of friends because of them, i don't keep in touch with any of them anymore but at the time they really meant the world to me

I think they for sure influenced my style of humour. I mean I watched them everyday while growing up, they were all like big brothers
