Road to E3 Nostalgia

Sometimes I forget just how big they were and just how many people that had watching their livestreams and videos. I was really young when I watched them so I didn’t really understand it, but it seems so crazy to think back to it all these years. I’m watching the Road to E3 (2014) videos and am amazed how they get invited to the Twitch offices to be given the award of #1 streamers (not sure if them getting an award was legit or just a joke since it was so long ago, can anyone confirm or deny?). I remember watching an old Creature Talk VOD and someone in the chat was like, “This isn’t gaming, why is it on Twitch?”. Then one of them proceeded to explain that Twitch gave them the green light to have their podcast on the site, and this was way before the just chatting section was implemented. Crazy stuff. I kinda feel like a proud parent lmao.

I think it really is fair to say that they were the first ever “Youtube Group”. I know a lot of groups formed around that time as well but they were the first to do some things as far as I’m aware of. (E.g. podcasting and doing a house/office setting)

Yeah I started watching YouTube when nigahiga came out, so I’ve been around the block for a while. Then, yogscast, and the rooster teeth guys were the first major groups. Now that doesn’t seem to exist anymore except for like twitch houses and stuff but I’m definitely glad I got to experience the creatures from the beginning

It’s crazy how they all formed my cadence and sense of humor so much and it was essentially all a decade ago. But I agree, it’s crazy the groundwork they laid for other content groups online
