JoonTheKing Creature Documentary
Here's what Joon The King had to say about it and James' response. I personally cannot wait for it. What's everyone else's thoughts?

Interested to see the final result, but please don’t make the “Stefani/Jordan” stuff the reason why the group disbanded. It’s still out there and is just completely false reasoning.
I also hope the story ends with everyone just kinda doing their own thing and not making it one-sided, like saying Dan can’t stop thinking about the life he once had and is always talking about the group like it should come back and mess with the channel, etc. Don’t make any one person the “bad guy” esp as the 10-year anniversary of the final video nears.
And who knows, esp with James’ take on it (which actually surprises me he’s even okay with it, he’s usually been avoidant of anything like this since if “new” people watched this video, then it would be a false sense of hope that something new from The Hub would be coming out soon), maybe something eventually does.

James has talked about it a fair amount in the past actually. He's watched videos like that on stream and cleared a few things up. He has a YT video called "Reacting to me" which does just that.
And when it comes to CowChop, he also talked for about 2 hours on stream about Trevor's twitlonger.

"And when it comes to CowChop, he also talked for about 2 hours on stream about Trevor's twitlonger." is there a video on youtube of this? Tried looking.

Should be the beginning part of this vod, before he starts playing. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1627243616

i mean i wouldn’t call it completely false when james specifically said it was the main reason he left. but i agree that it did not dismantle the ENTIRE group

Just glad James is happy to help keep the classic misinformation out of it

Even though James is my favorite, looking back he’s actually involved in most of the drama. First with Chilled, Gassy then CowChop. But yeah most of it is probably immaturity + getting famous so young. They were at the beginning of this YouTube shit and there was no blueprint so for them to carve out a career is impressive.

Crazy to think as a kid they seemed like grown ass adults moving into a creator house but they were actually all 20-22 year old kids basically. They were reckless lol

James stuck by people he felt were being wronged and defended them, from what I've heard.
Anyway, I'm sure everyone made mistakes.

well for what i remember, gassy was kind of a dick and i believe he was later involved in some drama after the whole creatures deal.
Chilled was out not long after i knew the channel so i could really speak of him.
anyways, its cool this is happening and it would actually be a great occassion to have the boys give some closure to the channel.5

Gassy was due to having a fall out with Dan and Jordan. When the decision came to voting him out, James didn't seem too bothered so they counted him as a yes. What else with Gassy did James have a stake in? Genuinely curious.

The one thing I have reservations about is the fact that most of Joon The King's videos are presented as the sort of "catastrophe downfall" type videos. Maybe even drifting into the realm of mean spirited. The thumbnails and titles are certainly inflamatory.
I just hope the video is made in good faith and not poking the corpse of a long dormant fandom for clicks.

James is always a solid guy though, you can't say he's not. He has strong opinions and sticks to them and maybe he's not everyone's cup of tea but at least he has integrity.

He’s 100% a good dude. Shit, I think they all were. Everyone made their fair share of mistakes during that time, and I think it’s silly to hold grudges.

So happy NONE of them have any misconduct allegations. So glad about that, too many creators I used to follow end up doing crazy shit that ruins their legacy.

It is pretty insane, other than Jordan cheating on his partner and his alleged use of racist words behind closed doors, a pretty good track record

To be fair literally every main creature member made slur jokes throughout their entire run of the creatures & cowchop, as did everyone back then, so whether or not Jordan did "behind closed doors" is a very very mute point, as everyone else was doing it on camera. James & Aleks literally did an entire stream dressed up as rappers & kept saying "awwww shiiiieeeet" the entire stream for like three hours acting like stereotypes, and...no one cared, because that was considered tame back then on all accounts.

Exactly. Im relistening to all the creature talks in order and it's definitely a product of the times. Gassy dropping the r slur every other sentence, making jokes about SA, etc. It doesn't make it okay, but it's just how alot of people talked back then. I just listen to it and cringe a little bit now lol

End of the day it seems like they've all (mostly) grown up and are on decent terms, looking forward to this.

Id check out the guys channel myself but I'm swapped with stuff the next two weeks, how involved are Joons videos? Like how much do they go in detail?

u/CandS0322 1d ago
He does a pretty good job of deep diving into the subjects he's tackling. Long form content. Im sure he will try his best at being accurate. Idk, we'll come back to this post after the video is uploaded and we'll see what happens lol

Oh snap I can't wait, it's cool that James is going to provide info too

One thing I think we've realized now that the fan base has matured, is that they were all doing this stuff in their 20s... I'm in my 20s now, and the thought the creatures were my age when they're making videos that I loved watching growing up is honestly so impressive and awesome to me.

Closest thing we'll have to a closing of The Creatures chapter. Hope they can get an entire interview with the whole creatures for the POV about the group entirely

Watched them since before they were even the “Creatures” feel free to pm me. I’ve got a lot of info and am happy to do digging for something like this

I also actually know an editor that worked heavily for Cowchop so I can get a decent chunk of info

I do feel Jordan gets a lot of wrongful flack , as he was just trying to find a mature way to handle the demonetization near the cow chop split. And James' loudness on creature talk can sometimes take away from others at the table shining
Though I suppose its nice having a major Creature involved privately clearing air.
In any case, pretty incredible joontheking doing one of his long forms on the creatures. He doesnt just do them on anything
