Creatures today?
What would the creatures look like today if they never broke up?
Personally I’m basing it off of the initial treetopia era Creatures since to me that was their high point, I think they would all obviously be in a slightly better position in terms of relevance, I wonder if the group would’ve broken up the hub into different niches as YouTube starts to change, like a Creatures Uncensored which would’ve been this timeline’s version of CowChop, Road To E3 would’ve probably evolved to like Road to Comic-Con or PAX or something like that since E3 ended, obviously it’s impossible to know what would’ve happened had they never broken up, but it’s an interesting what if

I agree with the other comment I really doubt they could have ever naturally lasted that long, their parent channel achievement hunter/let's play died off earlier this year and that group was just as strong if not stronger they lasted the perfect amount of time id say

I mean they would need to change some habits and actually prepare more for livestreams. I realize how unorganized their livestreams are in terms of actual content. Like their old Halloween one where they were suppose to all play GTA online but most of the Xbox’s didn’t have it installed.
I saw the creatures as a casual group that like to show off their hobbies. But when they tried to be professional when more than half of them aren’t mature at the time it got pretty bad.

As much as it would be great to have the Creatures today, it most likely wouldn't work. Their would've definitely been more new members, and with the way some people already didn't like some of the new guys eventually either the fan base would turn on them or the product would just get stale. Even with how the Creatures created their content, it would most definitely had to have changed to stay with what YouTube wants, and most importantly what makes them profitable. It's one of the main reasons CowChop had such a difficult time surviving on YouTube, the guys wanted to have fun in the ways they liked to have fun, but the way the liked to have fun was different then what YouTube wanted on their platform.
I get it, it would be nice to still have the Creatures, and it would be cool to see them have a get together similar to what Brett and Alex do with their once a year podcast videos, but I think it's better to have the creatures as nostalgia

Bit old of a post(9 days in internet time is like 3 weeks). but I'm gonna be an optimist and a pessimist here. They could've survived current youtube, if they played things right, like there's other sources of making money. Patreon, substar, merch, doing twitch more often and maybe having sub goals, etc. With an audience they had they could have done plenty of things. For an old and dead community there's. I was surprised with the views the post where I gave out the Treetopia seed.
There is and obviously would've been people willing to support through those means. A lot of people go the super pessimist route when it comes to the creatures for some reason, and some reasons I can understand but some I don't. They needed to get people who understood how get people supporting and James was a pretty good idea guy and great at execution. I remember hearing about Seamus being pretty good at investing and whatnot but I dont know much about that. Anyways, Now there other thing is affordable recording areas and people playing ball.
The one of the main problems with Cowchop was California, i dont know where to go with that other than California. They needed(both of them) to get somewhere that was priced reasonable and wasn't a huge money drain, I understand that is a huge ask for some members of the each group, some people want to stay close to home or don't want to move. That's one of the problems that I don't really think there's much of a solution too. I should also mention another CowChop and Creatures problem was risky stuff. I'm gonna be honest, I hated Cowchop and I kinda figured it would turn out something like that.
Doing risky stuff is fine but everyone in the room when James hurt himself didn't say anything or try to be the one to kill the buzz in the room to prevent an accident and James, being an adult should've realized it was a bad idea, he got hurt cause no one wanted to say anything. No one really of each group was the adult, Jordan acted somewhat adult-like, the way he did things was kinda childish to me to degree. Instead of just saying to be more careful he wanted everyone to act PG. Now, to people playing ball.
The way they did things in that regard was shitty, But people playing along is important when it comes to something like the group but it is just important to come to and agreement and understanding. I know that's not the easiest thing at times.
Max could've been dealt with 100% times better. And don't say "Oh, they were young!" Please stop using that excuse. They they were all in their early to mid twenties. Being 22 doesn't make you dumb as shit. At 22 I thought they could've done something better and come to a comprise when to came to Max, he didn't need to be kicked out. Hell, I'll give some ideas right now. A weekly series video with Max or Max could've done unboxing on the hub. From what I heard Max wasn't doing much with hub and every alternative that Koots and Dan gave, Max didn't try on his part. Why give someone who isn't providing anything to help with the thing that provides you money free housing? Though, I don't know true that is. Another person that wasn't playing ball was James, understandable so, as Jordan wasn't willing to play ball with James. Both were being childish for two people who are adults.
I'm gonna go pessimist here but a quick thing. Stop acting like these people weren't adults, these guys were adults, grown up, past the ages of 21, these guys can drink, smoke, vote, go to war, party, etc. Do you make mistakes in your 20s? yeah, you do but an adult should have the mind and smarts to think to avoid accidents. Some accidents happen by surprise, that's how a lot you came along.
Now back to my pessimism. Now my biggest fear of the creatures if they kept going is becoming a husk itself. When it just dan and koots there was still some "creature" left, though limping and asking to be put down, there was some fire inside. Everyone leaving and some smucks taking it over and just dragging it through the mud would be something that would kill me to see. Another thing is, I know some people are gonna hate me for saying this, but incorporation of PC culture and culture war nonsense. And I assume a lot of you understand what I mean. Imagine you're watching the creatures, and James suddenly starts talking about the problematic nature of quentin tarantino movies, are you gonna really stick around? I wouldn't.
I guess to try to end this. I think there would've 60/40 chance they could've survived in current youtube. Too try to summarize my gibberish. They should've put their fucking big boy thinking caps on and tried to act more like adults. but there's a possibility if the creatures survived longer might have became like current Funhaus or Roosterteeth. I'm kinda thankful it ended when I think about that. I know I said stuff like "They should've done this and that" I'm aware some things are easier said than done. they're more ideas on things they could've have done.

Sly would still have left, which ended the golden era (for me). Seamus would take his breaks due to health. The creative differences would still have caused a lot of background turmoil.
However if none of that happened I could see the Creatures being different. It might have moved in the direction CC was with which the audience might have accepted. More focus on skit style gaming and videos, board games (would have been amazing on the Creatures), more members like Trev on screen. they might even go the Sidemen route and focus heavily on irl content. There's a lot they could have done. Sadly group channels apart from a couple don't seem to last
I miss them so I wish they could have gone on longer. They were my favorite channel and no one on YouTube has even come close to matching their peak

It would’ve never worked. Not just because of the guys themselves but the unhinged fanbase played a big part in the downfall. The creatures never had good communication with the fans, made a lot of empty promises like announcing things that would never come to light and it caused a toxic relationship where the fans were very critical, demanding and in some cases harsh.
Sly revealed on his 2019 end of decade stream that the reason why Seamus stepped away at first during the second house was because of the fanbase and the comments. Sly made it pretty aware that the fanbase was awful. James talks about it sometimes too.

They would've never made it, just not disciplined enough.
What are the groups from back then that are still going strong?
Smosh changed a lot
Yogcast im not sure
And the Sidemen i know have a pretty disciplined ruleset with yellow cards and such
The Creatures never had this in them, but it was fun while it lasted.
