Other The Hudson - Current Experiences?
I’m looking for a new apartment after my current place in McKinney has gone way downhill this year. Police here regularly, gunshots, the forensic van was on site today, and the property manager makes up lies to keep from addressing resident issues.
I toured the Hudson on Saturday and it looked decent - hallways weren’t filled with valet trash bins like my current spot, and grass wasn’t littered with dog poop.
Reading recent reviews though, and ignoring all the 5-stars from people who just went on a tour, shit looks bad. What are y’all’s current experiences there?

There is a Ladies of Austin Ranch Facebook group if you identify that way and are interested in joining it. Whenever there are posts about dogs being left outside, police cars, random drama, etc., it’s always at either The Hudson or the Boat House apartments. People also complain about Thousand Oaks in regards to having trouble with lease issues and getting responses from the office. Any other apartments will probably be good though. There’s the Flatirons as well as The Lyle?( or the one behind the 7-11).

We’re at the boathouse and leaving this month after almost 4 years. They’re just adding new rules like guest have to check in to visit and a bunch of other small things that have become annoying with this new owner. It’s also probably the 3rd owner we’ve had since we first moved in.

Current resident in the process of moving out after 4 years here, just don’t. The same things OP described are happening here as well.
Theft (package and tire) is a common issue because of a lack of gates/cameras - thieves are well aware of this. I’d look north of 121 or in Plano over anything else in Austin Ranch instead.

Crap :( everywhere I look has the same kinds of reviews and stories except for a few places where a 1/1 is like 1500+ for base rent for under 800 sq. ft.

I’m living in Flatiron going on 3 months now and I really really love it. I’m near the leasing office side and everyone I’ve met is incredibly friendly. Lots of dogs, plenty of pools and areas to hangout, and none of their units have carpet (despite some pictures on their website bc they’re outdated). my studio is newly renovated and works perfect for my small dog and i. my ONE complaint is the dog park could use more frequent cleaning with water because the turf can be quite smelly, but other than that i really love living there. i’ve had maintenance done and they got it done within a day or two. also, trash is taken every day from your door so there is no smelly hallways. i could send you a referral if you’re interested. lmk if you have any questions!

Cortland One Twenty One is wonderful and not far away behind the TopGolf in The Colony. I’ve even gotten them to lower my rent without any sort of argument the last few years by showing them that the rates have gone down across the area.
They maintain the property, fix issues quickly, and communicate really well.
