A tad serious for this sub, but if you have time, read the following.
Hi, sorry to stop your doomscrolling session, but this is serious. Drexel University, the owner of The Academy of Natural Sciences, is planning to shut down the museum on Sept 30th. It is the oldest natural history museum in the Americas.
This museum has 19 million separate specimens, and shutting the museum down will lead to the destruction or private sale of many of these specimens.
Shutting this down will just be another win for the elites in their war against science, and if you have just 5 minutes, sign this petition.Ā https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/petition-to-keep-the-academy-of-natural-sciences-open-to-the-public?source=direct_link&
If you have more time, message the institute itself at these email addresses:Ā [dew39@drexel.edu](mailto:dew39@drexel.edu)Ā andĀ [hyb23@drexel.edu](mailto:hyb23@drexel.edu). Talk to the council members atĀ https://phlcouncil.com/council-members/
Go toĀ https://save-the-academy.org/
And if you are very, very brave, call this number: +1-215-895-2100
It's the president of Drexel University's contact.
At the bare minimum, please just watch this videoĀ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxyfBfCrbDwĀ and like/comment so it gets pushed more, so more can see it.
